  • Who let the kid play around in the background? Every time he tries to assemble something he's holding the part in his hand, twisting and turning it, holding it to the approximate location and then takes it away again.

Assembling a pre-furbished PC/console is not rocket science. Just remember the exact location of the parts and which screws go where. Wildly jamming parts on will not make it go faster...

  • Little bit confused atm... Why doesn't the GPU chip have a heatsink or something on it? On 3 of the first xbox 360 pro editions I've opened they all have a heatsink. I'm guessing the new ones just don't? Thumbs up if you know what i'm talking about! xD

  • @Blainurs it has a heatsink dudee wth dide u see the metal thing under the vent?

  • @Blainurs The new xbox 360 slim its GPU is inside the CPU together. Hence only one fan. Large running slow, Low noise. All other components hardly make no heat at all. Its all under one roof so to speak

  • So by looking at the motherbooard would you say it's getting closer to a pc? also could you run an operating system on it and use it as a pc? I know it's been done but it would amaze me if it ran windows 7 or such os :)

  • Wow, such a simple Mobo setup.

  • hey lok Microsoft change the capacitor.. :D

  • so ... is this wat you do on your saturdays

  • @anniecitomatt is this what u watch on saturdays

  • Complicated.

  • I think they just voided warranty, lol.

  • looks like a mini atx motherboard ...would be interested in turning the case into a media pc, looking at the layout it shouldn't be too hard

  • well you got it right first try every time!

  • wow

  • the cooling system on that looks so simple compared to the previous 360 lol

  • stock intel cooler? Microsoft really now.

  • @Joshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh1 it's not the stock intel cooler.

  • @snakefaceproductionz No dip, it looks exactly like one though.

  • @Joshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh1 yeah it does look very similar

  • Lol at everyone getting upset over nothing it's his Xbox let him do what he wants

  • its a pc only for games

  • dude 1754 called and it wants its hair cut back lol

  • Those guys are super fast

  • @NocredRS A fine young child you are using an insult to get you point across. And not all of the time will it cause bubbles. For one this person puts way to much for a spread, i do it alot thinner. Be a grown up and talk like an adult. This isnt high school.

  • ok im not smart at this kindof stuff so wht does the pread thing do

  • @MrSpiritx It helps bring the heat up to the heatsink so the fan can air it out.

  • 3 people 1 console

  • aaa

  • they shoulda edited the video, cause it looks like the didn't no what the hell they are doing

  • nerds

  • @MrYankee510 Geeks.

  • I heard Chevy chase bought one got a red dot of death than got so mad pooped in it and sent it back to mircosoft.

  • ginger kids

  • i hate the things at 4:22 so much lol

  • can somebody please tell me what applying thermal paste does?

  • Did all that work improve thermal performance? Was it really just a waste of time?

  • wow incredible!!!!

  • The guy facing the camera looks like an american straight from the 70's

  • @gfruy lol.... he looks weird!!

  • that would be cool if i put the xboxin a computer cases, with the coolermaster v10 on it

  • @snk9045 sure as hell would stay a shit load cooler at least lol

  • I can put PC CPU heatsink in xbox 360 slim?

  • LMAO the inside looks so old an cheap its amazing there evan allowed to sell this garbage.

  • I love how all they did was replace the thermal paste and called it a reconstruction... Hello tech geeks. Why the hell do you need to do that anyways? With the slim, A single heatsink and all of the heat is removed by the large ass fan if you haven't noticed. Fags, this shit is easy. Go apply some thermal paste in your boyfriends ass and then put your penis in, more difficult than this shit.

  • @cmann303 reconstrucion.... it means they put it back together dumbass, even if its the wrong word it serves the same purpose

  • @FragBashers Reconstruction: (Noun) "A thing that has been rebuilt after being damaged or destroyed". This is a pointless attempt to try and bash me. By reconstruction they are stating that they are fixing something Microsoft has done wrong. The cores stay cool with the new design, there is no point in replacing the thermal paste. So go fuck yourself, you don't know anything.

  • @cmann303 "even if its the wrong word it serves the same purpose" guess you didnt read my whole comment

or the description for that matter

  • @FragBashers You're fucking dumb, leave me alone... you have no clue what you're talking about.

  • @cmann303 I'm not dumb, and i do have a clue of what I'm talking about. You just cant understand that its the wrong god damn word but you should fucking understand what it is supposed to say, its called basic reasoning.

  • @FragBashers Why would you defend a group that you are unaffiliated with, when they are obviously at wrong? What a fucking troll, get out of here. The wrong word never serves the same purpose. You fucking moron. Especially if you have a YouTube contract, you should have enough knowledge to know what reconstruction means. Don't get the wrong idea i'm talking about "pcper". You should apply some basic understanding. R-E-T-A-R-D.

  • @cmann303 "Why would you defend a group that you are unaffiliated with..." "What a fucking troll, get out of here." your bashing a group that made a mistake and im the troll? "You should apply some basic understanding. R-E-T-A-R-D." all from your post, you contradicted yourself moron.

  • @FragBashers What the fuck, I think you're confusing yourself. I didn't contradict myself once, LOL! I can copy and paste from your comments and add quotations too. "your bashing a group that made a mistake and im the troll?" You're defending them when clearly they are wrong. I.E. Trolling, I was pointing out their mistake. Arguing with me for no reason is trolling. Me improving their literacy, not trolling. "all from your post, you contradicted yourself moron." - Please explain.

  • @cmann303 pointing out a mistake calls for "hey you put the wrong word up there it should be______!"

not "Fags, this shit is easy. Go apply some thermal paste in your boyfriends ass and then put your penis in, more difficult than this shit." thats what im arguing with you about, the fact that you could say something nice and simple and not completely dickish but instead you decide to be a complete ass about it and the contradiction is calling someone defending someone a troll.

  • @FragBashers What? That is not how your end of the argument started... Quit trying to turn this around. You were trying to correct me after I already corrected them. You are completely trolling, not for the fact that you're sticking up for someone... good for you. But for the simple fact that you continuously argue with me when you're wrong at every step. Give up.

  • @cmann303 sticking up for someone and trolling are not the same one im sticking up for him AGAINST a troll i wont give up because im right and your stubborn and single minded argument over troll proven.

  • @cmann303 sticking up for someone and trolling are not the same one im sticking up for him AGAINST a troll i wont give up because im right and your stubborn and single minded argument over troll proven.

  • @FragBashers I wasn't necessarily trolling, that's what you don't understand. I was telling them that they used the wrong grammar in describing their video. It's okay that you want to continue to fight, i'm not on youtube everyday so it may take a little bit longer to hear a reply from me. But anyways, the fact of the matter is what they said was incorrect and you're defending them. Just stop, it's okay to be wrong.

  • this is much more complex than the insides of the xbox 360.

  • its cool to know how my xbox 360 is made

  • how long did it take?

    guys

  • Jajaja Nice

  • Great video.

  • what kind of processor does it have?

  • @ibilliedyourmomhard Custom IBM PowerPC-based CPU :

3 symmetrical cores running at 3.2 GHz each

2 hardware threads per core; 6 hardware threads total

1 VMX-128 vector unit per core; 3 total

128 VMX-128 registers per hardware thread

    1 MB L2 cache

  • @epicurbanbirds Thanks.

  • @epicurbanbirds Thanks

  • I really hope I wont have to take apart a slim.

  • Damn you guys are slow. You even sped you the video and it took longer then what i do it in real time.

  • @TheGamerPalace I would love if you could do that to mine...

  • NAME OF THE MUSICCCCCCCCCC PLEASE! :D

  • You don't need to rush it man lol!

  • took two people maybe 25 minutes to rebuild this bad boy....

I bet a 9 year old chinese boy could do it in two minutes.

  • you guys mess up a lot

  • no tienen ni idea los pendejos

  • it still has x-clamps and the ps3 has three fans in the back

  • @MrMontreal17 is that why the ps3 sucks?

  • @yellowcorba1 know thats why it doesnt fail as much i dint debate on the consoles thought i like them both

  • @MrMontreal17 bolth are great consoles ps3 in its time was built more durable when it first came out because Microsoft used cheap thermal paste and put the heat sink under the DVD drive. the slim is much better though.

  • @MrMontreal17

Haven't you farts to sniff,PS3 fanboy?

  • do you know what they should have done aswell with the slim install three fans at the back so it doesnt get really hot screw you microsoft you cheap ass mofo's if anyone agrees with me please comment back to me

  • FKING RED HAIR !!

  • FAIL way of putting the TIM on!

  • just wondering does that fan suck air in from out side the top of the box or does it blow air out the top of the xbox ?

  • can you remove the wireless reciver ?and where are they?

  • I would have trashed the x-clamps ...

  • Cool video!

  • Can you actually take the CPU off from the Xbox 360 Slim and install it into a computer..?

  • @RevaqOfTheLight No the Cpu is Soldered on the Motherboard and Computers use ZIF (Zero insertion Force) Ports

  • best warranty sticker ever! you can make one yourself ;)

  • rewind it at the vid will show you dismantaling it

  • 2:54 his face!!

    looks like idiot!

  • @awfulrex Well duh did u see how many times they had too unplug and plug shit back in and how they didnt even know how to put the RF module back?

  • ROFL you used the spread method... I just love these people carrying these "vast" technological knowledge claims, and they do the most noobiest thing you could possibly do with thermal paste.

  • @mewimi lol so true

  • @mewimi Its not all that bad if you spread it. Either way works fine, its just a matter of preference.

  • @kenneth1515 No... it isn't a matter of preference. Take it from a technician. Spread method = Air bubbles and lots of them, air bubbles = bad = increased heat. Take it from basic science.. perhaps you remember the story of the explorers that traveled to Antarctica in thin tight clothing ^___^

  • @mewimi Totally right !

    For reference, everyone: /watch?v=EyXLu1Ms-q4&feature=related

  • @mewimi If it works it works. These guys havnt claimed anything it just a vid, seems your the one whos a self proclaimed expert. arrogant little douchebag.

  • @eraldorh Thats the thing, it doesn't work. the point of thermal paste is to remove the space inbetween the processor and heat sink so they make contact. The spread method creates air bubbles thus trapping heat, and reducing contact.

"if it works it works" if I tell you to write your resume in chalk and expect them to hire you, would you believe me?

Give me a break you don't know what you are talking about. and "Self proclaimed" no, A+ certified technician.

  • @mewimi If your applying for a chalk firm and you write your CV in chalk it might just well impress them, caught you out there.

An A+ certified tech who trolls youtube looking for things to fault yeah right fuck off loser, it works i did it on my old xenon 360 and it worked for another 9 months before breaking down again. It may not be the best method but if it works it works.

  • @eraldorh Again, it is the wrong method, it doesn't work and isnt as effective as line or "pea method" your ignorance is quite apparent. Pointing out an obvious error isn't trolling.

  • @mewimi Stop trolling douchebag, it does work because iv done it before and it causes no overheating issues, its speculation that it causes heat to become trapped as long as there is good connection to the heatsink it will perform fine, there may be a RIGHT way to do it but this way works fine, this is the same as the theory of reversing the 360 fans that it will cause heat to become trapped, it actually does not and performs equally as good.

  • @eraldorh It DOESNT work, it is in your head. There is the RIGHT way, and there is the WRONG way. No matter how "well" you spread that paste, it will be less effective than the RIGHT WAY. So it IS the WRONG WAY. No matter how hard you try, you can't argue away the facts.

  • @mewimi It is not WRONG, it is just less effective than other methods if it was wrong it wouldnt work and it does work so fuck off troll.

  • @eraldorh Wrong, it is wrong because it isn't 1. The manufactural recomendations for applying thermal paste. 2. It ruins the purpose of thermal paste. 3. it is contrary to the purpose of thermal paste, 4. It creates air pockets which is contrary to the purpose of decreasing temperatures.

and again you clearly do not know what a troll is.

  • @eraldorh wait better yet, just watch this video and learn what a troll is. watch?v=ffK7L0Qj13Q

  • @tehpoposhow PS3 is a pc too like xbox 360, the both are cheaper and less graphic power.

  • @tehpoposhow its rofl not rolf douche

  • Xbox 360 is a PC, but a cheaper one :D

  • If i were you i would trash the clamps and get screws for better support and less chances of prod .

  • @cisco760ca BAD IDEA! The x-clamps are there for a reason. Replacing them with screws only mashes the heat sinks onto the chips. Also, if you happen to leave one screw at a different torque, then you just caused your heat sink to sit unevenly which is VERY BAD!

The only way to prevent the RRoD is to clean your xbox, of dust, once a week. And, the reason people think that the x-clamp "youtube fix" works is because they heat up the board creating a bandage fix on the 2000+ solder balls.

  • @xHubbcap well to be honest i have repaired pcs and laptops and i have built a few pcs and i never seen any of them have xclamps . Xbox's are almost the same as a minuture pc .when i opened my xbox the heatsink was a little loose from the chip. MIcrosoft makes it that way so i can break down in a few years . I have friends that has done the same and there xbox are still running great . i did buy the correct size of screws too and i checked if it was making contact wich it was.

  • @cisco760ca Since you know what you are doing, replacing the x-clamps with screws may turn out ok. It' when people post vids on how to do it and persuade non-experienced people to do it.

The clamps work fine as long as you know how to maintain them. It is just like your car, you change the oil right? Well, with the x-clamps, every 6 months you should change your thermal paste and inspect the clamps. If they are getting looser, you should place a nylon washer on them to increase their tension.

  • LMAO, EPIC FAIL!, Nice "YouTube" tutorial in the background jackasses. hahaha, even in high speed you were slow as shit! Don't post a tutorial about something if you are still learning yourself dumbass.

  • @Xbox360Chicken ur an arsehole ur self!!

I have put together over 100 gaming pcs and XBOX's but it still goes slow!!

    Try it ur self!!

  • @VieaTv , Really?, Then why is there a YouTube tutorial going on in the background? lmao!

  • @Xbox360Chicken shut up fuckhead

  • i hate those x clamps

  • @Kevinkoch2443 atleast there is only one on the new console

  • @Kevinkoch2443 Why is that... I thought they helped against rrod's...

  • What?!!! They are still using the x-clamp design?!!!!!!

  • 2:50 that guy looks like whale poop

  • Reminds me of building my pc. So very close to building my pc, ps3 is really different to pcs.

  • should i lay my xbox slim vertical or horizontal? im afraid putting it vertical cause since there's a vent on the bottom and when the fan spins it blows out every direction so it would blow down with any ventilation and horizontal seems to heat up more on the bottom then vertical.

  • @gmarproductions Well with air flow movement it's best for vertical position but that's on a computer case and it depends. Keep it at the temp it should be, what ever angle it is where the temp is lowest.

  • @gmarproductions consoles suck it air throught the sides, and out the top vent bit, so best have it horizontal mate. hope this helped

  • @gamerdude1989 doesn't the fan one the top suck air in when its vertical and blows air out on the sides? thing is i layed my xbox 360 s horizontal for like 13 days then noticed after i turned it off the bottom heats up more than vertical. but when vertical the side on the bottom heats up very quickly and the side heats up not as much when horizontal,(btw i don't worry about my disc scratching if on vertical)

  • @gmarproductions what ive always done is keep is horizontal but get like 20 x 1p coin, tape 5 ontop of each other, so you end up with 4 lots of 5 1p coins taked together, and use then as stands so the xbox is slightly risen from the unit that its on. helps keep the bottom cool too.

  • @gmarproductions you should always lay any console horizontal because its easier to knock over when its vertical and the circuit board will get hotter vertical due to fan blockage and it is in danger of falling off.

  • sweetest console i ever seen (after gamecube cunstruction)

  • i think if i got a s model,i think id prolly never ever mod it does to how long the teardown would take. no thanks really

  • how did you do that? comment me

  • The X clamp... Take a PC for example, the main heatsink on a CPU of a PC, has a backing plate behind the mobo, this is effectively the PC's version of an X clamp, or to put it correctly, the X Clamp is the 360's version of a backing plate. We'll see how the slim fares against E74 etc, as I will buy one around Christmas, my current Elite has E-74ed me once and is probably going to do it again sometime before Christmas. But hey, the X Clamp isn't the problem, it's probably just a crappy cooler.

  • @Matrix573 55% failure rate for xbox 360, 40% of the second consoles the people bought when the first one died.

    youtube.com/watch?v=hlN9Bz0eU6E&feature=related

  • It took you guys a LONG fucking time to put that xbox back together.

    Fucking retards!!!

  • does the slim have a higher "mortality rate" then the previous one?

  • don't know why they spread thermal paste, not the best way to apply

  • did they take it apart in the dark???

  • that heatsink/fan looks amazing

  • How much time did i take?

  • @yalamix ONLY 5 MINUTES AND TWENTY SECONDS. FUCKIN AMAZING.

    (or wwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to much redbull)

  • @Jac0bReg They sped up the video so it obviously took longer...

  • woooow can't believe they're still effin put x clamps in there . didnt they learn their lesson the first time around.

  • @hijinx078 nothing wrong with the xclamps...heat the problem, guess ur another sucker that went out and bought the xclamp fix kit hehe

  • @gecho82ss umm ur half right yes heat was a prob but the xclamps were causing the board to warp away from the gpu when heated look it up . look at ne video on the web they will always tell you to take that clamp off. n no i didnt by the kit srry.

  • @hijinx078 they worp the board??? how are they doing that?, they exert hardly any pressure on the board at all...they screw directly to the chassis at each corner, pressure is evenly distrubuted over the GPU/CPU. Do u really believe that if the xclamps were the issue that microsoft would still be using them on the 360S. The xclamp is merely a retainer to keep the heatsinks in place while the motherboard is outside the chassis, obviously whilst it is in the manufacturing process.

  • @gecho82ss the problem was, the x clamps were not tight enough from what I understand. The board would heat up then bend as it cooled and because the xclamps were not tight enough it allowed the gpu/cpu to pull away from the the socket in the mother board. I may be wrong about this all together Im not an expert, what I do know is I had the one ring of death cleaned and replaced the heat sink past put the xclamps back and the problems wasnt solved till the xclamps were removed all together.

  • @gecho82ss but the main thing is they took care of the over heating problem so I guess with that said, the xclamps original purpose is still valid.

  • wth I know I didn't just see another x-clamp at least the chip was bigger

  • you guys are like de de de having issues assembling anything

  • That was great! I have been wanting to know what the inside of the new Xbox360 looked like. Thanks for putting up this video.

  • DAMIT THEY ARE USING X-CLAPS STILL '-_-

  • @KOOLANCE720 your right its a 4-pin thanks for the clarification and being mature about it and using a fan speed controller for it is stupid idea because the fans will spin between different speeds unless you have more volts going to the fans that will just cause worse problems

  • were is the graphics core is it all in the cpu spot

  • thats some bad thermal paste woops dint read pcper's comment woops unless its diamond 7 or diamond 24 than i got nothing else to say

  • thats some bad thermal paste

  • @KOOLANCE720 idk if ur talking about the connector how it connects to the motherboard is the same 3 -pin one u find in computers

  • very nice video, folks. i really enjoyed. and the music was top notch.

  • 2:51 fucking shit my self he looks like a pedo

  • lol i like watching the guys try and figure out the wiring at 1:30

  • hmm, the CGPU fan looks a bit shit. I might replace the fan in my console with a Blue or Green LED version. :D good to see the internals, too bad the console is still bloody hot.

  • @BetaOverclocking i don't see why if their even is one i fan thats spins and high speed but it silent on 360 they have fans going slow as possible so little noise and it just barly keeps it cool

  • @bamfan2044 first freaken spell right i swear its like trying to get what a babay is saying half the time second the bigger the fan the more air is pushed and the slower it has to be to be able to push that air 230mm fan 150cubic feet per minute 900rpm 17 dba 120mm 150cubic feet per minute 4000rpm 50dba you see the diffrence

  • @skimowhite i spell perfectly fine but you seem to think that if you can spell and use correct grammar on youtube makes you more superior and thanks for showing me the difference i never thought about that

  • At least it has HUGE heatsinks with a huge fan on one of them. And neither of them are under the disk drive. Good job microsoft. Now get rid of the x clamps.

  • That look like crap compare to the ps3 microshit dosent know how to build a good hardware!!!

  • @ps31871 ha yea and the xbox's rrod after a month or 2 of havin it tht makes it a whole lot funner totally

  • @ps31871 grow up faggot

  • So thats what cheap shitty engineering looks like.

    .youtube.com/watch?v=fDCcyLne00g

go watch this piece of shit failing at the same rate the other shit xbox's do
