I'm just gonna go cry forever :(( Snape has always been my favorite character I knew by the way he looked at Harry in the first movie that something was off, but not in a bad way. I'm so heartbroken he had to die, and the way he died, what for. How he protected a boy he despised because he looked so much like his father, he refused to see the parts of lily in him, and how he wanted to look into Harry's but really Lily's eyes one more time before he died. :( Ugh I cant deal with it.
@unwell333. You're not lame, don't even think that, whenni saw his death in theaters, i immediately burst into tears, that's the only movie scene i recall in my life that's ever made me cry.
when i read the book and came to the part where he died i had to put the book down and cry for a few hours. then i read the Prince's Tale chapter. And cried for a few days. I'm lame.
I don't care what anyone says, Harry Potter series and JK Rowling are the best. I cried when I read the book, especially with Snape and Lily. When I saw the movie I cried even more and I don't cry very often and many people rarely see me do so this really had a strong impact. Thank goodness the cinema was dark. :(
This is probably just me but I love dramatic scenes like Snape standing by the window and staring out at 1:01..I always get this strange feeling every time I see something like this..like I feel their pain..
I cried reading this in the book. I wish they had done more of what was in the book, but nonetheless I have never cried so much during a movie. I've always loved Snape. Even before I read the Deathly Hallows. I couldn't explain why I liked him, but after Harry used the protego spell to penetrate his mind, and saw everything he went through, I loved him even more.
How must it have been for him, seeing the eyes of his beloved peering from the face of his hated rival? He wanted to look into the eyes that were so like Lily's eyes one last time, and he wanted Harry to understand, and perhaps in that last moment he also wanted to look into the eyes of a boy who might, if things had been different, have been his own son.
In all honesty, I always had mixed feelings about Snape. He was always a bit of a creep around Harry. And well, I think he got what he deserved for betraying everybody. But on the other hand, I see the reason why some people pity him. He felt deprived of someone who he knew and loved back in his youth. Plus, his relation with Harry has kind of been sort of a love/hate relation. And well, I did feel a bit of pity on Snape after realizing his true intentions. He was merely a troubled invidual.
I always hated Snape. Untill I saw the fifth movie. Then I hated James Potter. It was really hard for me not to cry when I saw DH2... I was on the verge of tears when I saw Snape's memories... And if you hate Snape, well his love started it all. If he hadn't loved Lily, and broke her heart by calling he a mud blood, then she would have never fell for James. If she didn't fall for James none of harry Potter would of happened.
Alan Rickman is amazing as Snape. Those scenes broke my heart -- when holding Lily like that.. in all movies (and books) we've seen him as this stiff person with almost no facial expression (apart from disgust) and then, here he's completely broken.... it's so powerful. And Snape's Demise is such a beautiful piece of music
I'm a 16 year old guy and when snape died i cried like a 4 year old girl! And when the prince's tale started i cried like an infant! I was so happy that i wasn't the only guy crying (the other guy was only 10 but that still counts!) anyway, SNAPE FTW!!!!!!
@prettyoddfever27 oh yeah you're right.....twilight is nothing compared to this. nothing more than a love triangle while Harry potter is about lot of characters whose story developed throughout 7 years !!!!!
ve always loved snape since the beginning. When he killed dumbledore i just knew he had to have a good reason and i was right. "The Princes Tale" is my favorite part of the entire series.
Oh and for any interested Snape Fan, I made a "Princes Tale" video for Snape and Lily. Its on my page. Check it out :)
all through the other movies j.k. makes you believe that he is evil because he killed dumbledore and was a death eater and stuff but when i saw this i was rlly sad :'(
Three greatest lines ever in a film? Al one word? All by Snpe?
Obviously.

Alas, I did wonder what would've happened if Harry turned out to be Snape's son. The way he said those things to Dumbledore on the hill overlooking Hogwarts... "Yes, but he thinks it's THEIR son...hide them, hide them..."
@CornyTelecaster49 Well, I read the series years ago but didn't like the way they treated certain characters. Like Snape, I didn't like the way she portrayed him. He was much better suited in the movies. You might acually have to watch the movies to realize what I'm implying here, 'dude'.
@Ruffian123Forever What. The. Horcrux? "Much better suited in the movies"? He got so little attention I almost cried! The story of him and Lily is SO beautifully portrayed in the books, and the movies basically just... scroll over it.
@MrCitrusfrugt I know it! Though I read the books several years ago and have stuck with the movies since, I do agree with you. I believe Snapecast times the length of screentime Severus has...and all in all, it's horribly wrong. Considering, if you think about it, it's Snape's story! And that's why, if Rowling continues the series, I won't be tuning in. Nothing left to live for if not for Snape!
Last night I shed my first tear ever cried on a HP movie....Snape holding Lily's body looking fit to break into a million pieces. I sobbed out loud in the cinema.
I didn't really cry thoughout the movie. But Snape's memory scene forced me to unleash the ultimate "sexy tear" (as Nostalgia Critic calls it ). Good job David Yates for including these scenes, and congrats to the composer!
@Jojodabunneh Maybe. But he did ask Voldemort to spare her (according to the books), but Lily refused to back down when Voldemort tried to kill Harry, thus Snape's wish was not fulfilled. Snape has (had) regreted it ever since.
@DarkComet360 True. It just kills me when people hate on James Potter because of him pranking Snape when he was 15. Because James would never seriously hurt anyone and would never call anyone a mudblood or become a death eater. Snape chose dark arts over Lily, and he bullied little kids as a teacher who he had authority over. That's always worse in my books.
@Jojodabunneh Snape asked Voldemort to spare Lily because he loved her. He didn't want Lily to be killed and was left to protect Harry in her honor. I feel so bad for Snape loosing the only love he had. But in my HP fan-fic, I have him in love with someone else, but his thoughts and memories of Lily are never far away. Snape is a complicated man, thus it's hard to figure out how he 'really' feels.
It was the most emotional part of the movie and, in opposite to what so many people are saying, young lily's eyes are not exactly brown, they seem to be more grey/dark green, like baby Harry's ones.
I absolutely love the outcome of Snape's story. I also loved the music by Alexandre Desplat... I have downloaded the "Deathly Hallows Part II - Soundtrack" already. Thank you very much for posting :D
My best friend and I are the ULTIMATE Severus Snape fans... we know everything about him and he has been my personal favorite character since he was first introduced in the Sorcerer's Stone. I love Snape SO MUCH and when he died I literally cried in the theater D: Seeing his memories killed me, especially when he was holding Lily D: WE LOVE YOU SNAPE<3 !
Where in this movie did people think Snape and Lily had a thing was implied? If it's the childhood bit, Lily was one of the only people that was nice to young Snape, her love was platonic. Snape on the other hand loved her. It's more obvious in the book Lily didn't like him like that.
@knightofjustic No, I know. In the books it always seemed unrequited, but in the film there are a /lot/ of suggestions put in there by the screenwriters that Lily returned his feelings, at least for a time. I just love that Yates took a totally fanfiction concept and put it out there for the world to see. :)
@singthebattle well i doubt it yates has an habit in fact all the directors of harry potter have the habit of putting stuff in the movie from the books without explaining what it was. in the 1st movie ron is off talking about peeves who was never in the movies sadly. and lupin is somehow tonks husband and has a kid which was never brought up. yates just knows the people who read the books would know what was happening
Oh my god. When I saw the part where Snape was hugging Lily's dead body and crying, I just started BAWLING. Well, because it was so sad and romantic, but also because, well, everybody hates me at school and I don't think anybody would do that to me if they found my dead body. They'd just say, "Oh, SHE'S dead? Whatever." :'(
@oooaNoNyMousSooo I know, right? It was just so... sad and heartwarming. I mean, I've never seen Alan Rickman (the guy who plays Snape) show any emotion (other than a straight face) in all the other movies. It just came sort of a... shock to see him crying in this movie.
I hated Snape for all the parts of Harry Potter, but when i saw that scene in the cinema,I cried and I gained respect for Severus Snape....HP is a beautiful movie...Beautiful ending <333
starting from 1:40 is when Snape tells Harry," Look...at...me...You have your mother's eyes"...only apt that 'Lily's Theme' was playing during that scene...
I loved this movie so much, and to be honest I wouldn't mind going to see it again. The scene of Snape's death and his memories made me really sad. But I always knew he was a good person :]
I really love this! Thank you for putting this on, I cry every time I watch. I loved this song at the beginning of the movie, it was so perfect, especially when they showed Snape watching over. It really suits how he would be feeling at this point.
It's wonderful how Alexandre Desplat integrate "Lily's theme" in this song. It's like a musical picture that Severus' patronus was the same as Lily's... heartbreaking.
2:20 - baby Harry crying over his dead mother... I swear, I can watch practically ANYTHING without shedding tears, but I just broke down when I saw that =(
Thumbs up if you have known about Snape being good for 4 years before th movie and all of your friends who didnt read the books hated him and said your weird for thinking that he is the best Harry Potter character !!!
@CornyTelecaster49 Thats exactly what happened to me!!! all of my friends were like he's the worst character! he's mean and evil! and i was like i love snape you just have to see number 7 :) and they were like ummm you're crazy
@CornyTelecaster49 I knew about Snape since book 5 (Snape's worst memory). When I read that chapter and saw how Lily, at first, tried to come to his aid and was rebuffed by him (the mudblood comment) It occurred to me that the reason it was his worst memory was not because of what James did to him, but rather because his remark cost him his friendship with Lily. I knew that the doe patonus in book 7 was his.
i loved the whole movie but my favorite part was snapes memory...the whole time i watched the memory i was like oh my GOD!!!!! it was so romantic, surprising, and sad. but mainly romantic and surprising.
did you download all the clips before they got removed? Would it be possible for you to upload them? They dont seem to be available anywhere else without doing surveys or signing up for accounts :/ Thanks!!!
I'm just gonna go cry forever :(( Snape has always been my favorite character I knew by the way he looked at Harry in the first movie that something was off, but not in a bad way. if J K Rowling had wanted Severus Snape to be harry's father she would have written the book that way .....

Where in this movie did people think Snape and Lily had a thing was implied? If it's the childhood bit, Lily was one of the only people that was nice to young Snape, her love was platonic. Snape on the other hand loved her. It's more obvious in the book Lily didn't like him like that.
BrownEyedBlondiex 7 months ago
snapes memories were hands down the saddest part of that movie
liupot 7 months ago 7
There are so many implications in DH2 that Snape and Lily had a thing. I never pictured David Yates as such a massive fangirl, but I'm so glad he is.
singthebattle 7 months ago
@singthebattle well there kinda was in the book but something happened
knightofjustic 7 months ago
@knightofjustic No, I know. In the books it always seemed unrequited, but in the film there are a /lot/ of suggestions put in there by the screenwriters that Lily returned his feelings, at least for a time. I just love that Yates took a totally fanfiction concept and put it out there for the world to see. :)
singthebattle 7 months ago
@singthebattle well i doubt it yates has an habit in fact all the directors of harry potter have the habit of putting stuff in the movie from the books without explaining what it was. in the 1st movie ron is off talking about peeves who was never in the movies sadly. and lupin is somehow tonks husband and has a kid which was never brought up. yates just knows the people who read the books would know what was happening

Omg when he found that lily was dead, i just started crying Dx
Mspurplepassion100 7 months ago 2
Whatever." :'(

i remember when he found lily dead and he was crying and he was holding her close to his heart..... no word could explain what i was feeling
oooaNoNyMousSooo 7 months ago 2
@oooaNoNyMousSooo I know, right? It was just so... sad and heartwarming. I mean, I've never seen Alan Rickman (the guy who plays Snape) show any emotion (other than a straight face) in all the other movies. It just came sort of a... shock to see him crying in this movie.

Thank you again!! <3

It's wonderful how Alexandre Desplat integrate "Lily's theme" in this song. It's like a musical picture that Severus' patronus was the same as Lily's... heartbreaking.

2:20 - baby Harry crying over his dead mother... I swear, I can watch practically ANYTHING without shedding tears, but I just broke down when I saw that =(

voldemorts biggest mistake: killing lily, not only did it protect harry, but it turned severus into one of the greatest wizards ever, thanks voldy

Thumbs up if you have known about Snape being good for 4 years before th movie and all of your friends who didnt read the books hated him and said your weird for thinking that he is the best Harry Potter character !!!
CornyTelecaster49 7 months ago 5
@CornyTelecaster49 Thats exactly what happened to me!!! all of my friends were like he's the worst character! he's mean and evil! and i was like i love snape you just have to see number 7 :) and they were like ummm you're crazy
jackdavenportluv 7 months ago
@CornyTelecaster49 I knew about Snape since book 5 (Snape's worst memory). When I read that chapter and saw how Lily, at first, tried to come to his aid and was rebuffed by him (the mudblood comment) It occurred to me that the reason it was his worst memory was not because of what James did to him, but rather because his remark cost him his friendship with Lily. I knew that the doe patonus in book 7 was his.
