I don't know where you get your information from?? Bows are way better weapon of war due to the rapid fire rate.

A longbow can launch 10-12 arrows a minute where as a powerful crossbow can only launch 2.

@GadgetMart Actually not. A Crossbow prod has to be 3 times shorter than the length of an entire bow to match its strength. The shorter the prod becomes the harder it is to draw back. Making the crossbow impractical to use. Rate of fire has nothing to do with strength, I don't even know why you included that.

my frind made one of those but he used a leaf spring from a trailer on a compound sys. 325 lbs he sed he shot a bolt threw 3\4 ply thru his house and half way into a log in the basment then he sed hes afrade to fire it lol =3- good job

yea i like how you had a house behind your target nice ..when you drew that thing back the string was not centered in the lock and the bow is not centered in the rail cradle..this can cause the arrow to fly out to the side ..and miss the target..and hit some innocent bystander..home made cross bows are very dangerious at best...
