  • Proud grandson of 2 WW2 Vets, my father is a Vietnam vet, and I'm an Iraqi Freedom vet. God bless all who "saw the elephant"

  • @sfremgen Welcome home brother !

  • I do not know if I have the courage to go to the wall. Too many of my friends and comrades in arms are there. I do not know if I could stand in their presence once again, for now I am old and they are forever young. One day I too will join them and be at peace.

    Thanks for the video.

    Thanks for all.

  • ty for vid ,,,,,, from 1965 to 1968 U S Army

  • If you respond to this, listen to John McDermott's other tribute to our soldiers, or to anyone you may have lost, "One Small Star". He put out a CD of songs of war which goes back to the the Civil War, WWI and WWII and more. It breaks your heart.

  • thanks for the video...been there, done that (in spades)

  • When I got back to the world after my second tour I was spat on and called a babykiller.

  • Thank you very much for this video. I am a Vietnam combat vet. and am glad to see that some people give us honor. When I got back to the US in 69 I was treated like I was shit. Thanks again.

  • @dao3rd123 @jimincairns Its stupid that after fighting in a war, you come home to treatment like that...personally (And it may not mean much..) but I am sorry how people treated you when the war finished. Its dispicable..you deserve better. Thank you for what you did.

  • Just Thank You. Thank You so much.

  • My dad is a Vet. He wants to see the wall before he dies. I am proud of him. I know what it means when another Vet says "Welcome home brother" Thank you for the Vid.

I swear I truly se a part God in his soul as if he was sent by The. My thanks & respect with all my heart to all lost men, veterans & current soldiers, all are in my prayers.

Ft Benning in January can't wait

  • I don't know who posted this, but I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I spent a couple of years there in the Navy Special Warfare Unit ( SEALS). Lost a good friend there and had the honor of accompany his body back home. Once I got out I laid my medals at the wall under his name. To all of my brothers who served...thank you and I am extremely proud to be part of this family.

  • A great song written by an American and performed by a Canadian. He may have already done it but I was hoping he could perform it at the Remembrance Day concert in Washington DC,

  • nam vets were mistreated and they only fought cause the they choose to so, no one should critisize them for what they did

  • @halo0rap I completely agree. Not only were they mistreated, but they were also mislead and and tricked into fighting that war. They shouldn't be criticized not only because they were only doing what they were told was the right thing to do, but also because they were lied to and didn't know any better. The only was who deserves criticism for this war is the government. They couldn't have chosen a worse place to try to stop communism. The government screwed up, not the vets.

  • to all who served in Viet Nam I say thank you.....and to those who served in the 5th cavalry regiment then.........thank you for my legacy and BLACK KNIGHTS!!!!

  • My brother is a VietNam vet and I want to thank you for this video honoring our great soldiers who served honorably. I was greatly moved when I finally got to visit the wall last summer. God bless our troops!

  • I've always hoped someone would put video to this song; I've loved it since the day I first heard it. Wish you'd let it play all the way through, though.

Excellent video and thanks from a Vet's exwife.

Brother you have said it all. Semper Fi to you. God Bless you, all vets, all Americans and John McDermott.

  • As a Vietnam veteran I want to thank you for posting this nice tribute. My thoughts are with all my brothers lost who are on the wall.

  • As an Iraq/GWOT veteran I wonder how we will be remembered. I gotta thank the Vietnam Veterans of America organization to prevent us from being forgotten by vets of earlier conflicts and wars. I am a 3rd generation combat veteran,Grandfathers were in WW2 and my dad was in Vietnam. Peace.

  • great video, 5 stars, my grandpa was a navy seal and he died on a top secret mission in veitnam in 1963 but since it was top secret he isnt on the wall.

  • BRAVO!!!!! I was born in September of '67, and yet I have the utmost respect for Vietnam Vets. Being a veteran myself, it is an honor and a privlege to salute Vietnam Vets as well as all other vets who came before and after my service to this great country. I am an avid supporter of the POW/MIA issue, and have adopted a lot of POW/MIA's on my website called "VF24's Home Page" . I often wonder if politicians learn from history at all.

  • Excelent video. I am currently in the works of a video about Canadians who went south to fight in Vietnam. Watch out for it on August 8th. Again supurbe video and excelent choice in music.

  • great job, my uncle grandpa and many more of a my family have died in this war. good job

  • We were called, answered
