  • THIS AIN'T FUCKIN SCRATCH LIVE!!

  • I swear, as soon as I heard this guy's accent I was waiting for him to say AUGH GET IN THA CHOPPA

  • @ZEC821 He's Australian or a Kiwi not Austrian. silly!

  • Do they still make final Scratch?

  • can you use it with novation twitch?

  • Im Using a LAPTOP, But not sure what he is reffering to when he says: You Need a P3700 or Better.... Any Help pls =)

  • @djelpadrino21 just follow the pc reqirements, anything better than the "P3700" your laptop should be able to run it

  • i need some tips. im 14 & plannin on djing just for a hobby. fortunatlly my dad got me some nice technics & i was askin what kind of sarato should i use with my turntables? i looked on websites like guitarcenter and they were like $800.. where should i get my serato also?

  • @rellmack123 Well they just came out with the SL2 which is around $500 i think. They discontinued the SL1 which i got for $550. Just go with an SL2 or an SL1 if you can find it used. You dont really need an SL3 or SL4 if you're just using 2 turntables. The SL1 has "Thru" inputs so you can switch from the Control Vinyl to playing a real vinyl record.

  • where i can buy this?

  • @matijaze003 the software is free on they're website... but the equipment is on guitarcenter... to get the software just search on google: "serato live" its the first link that isnt google recommended... and there you go to products and look through there...

  • tutorial my ass!! it's just a promote for the product!

  • hey i need some help please im thinking of buying some turntables and a mixer but which program do i use the itch or scratch live and also is there brand of turntables that only works with serato or all brands work?

  • if you want to switch from serato to a normal vinyl do you need to hook everything off then?

  • @TheWardjanssen

No, just click 'Through' on the interface, then it'll play vynil.

Or, unplug the USB connection while keeping power to the interface. It'll automatically play vynil

  • @MistaClaypole Wow did search a year to hear that, Thanks bro!!

  • @TheWardjanssen

No, just click 'Through' on the interface, then it'll play vinyl.

Or, unplug the USB connection while keeping power to the interface. It'll automatically play vynil

  • @TheWardjanssen

No, just select the 'Through' option on screen on whatever channel you want to play vinyl. too easy.

  • Wow, it's a little bit like a Dj Hero stuff, I'm 32 now so sorry guys, I'll stay with Traktor Scratch Pro...

  • @TheEndProject

sorry to hear you're too old. and good luck with getting support from traktor (one of the main reasons to go with serato)

  • Would a laptop that has Pentium 4-M 1.7 GHz, 256 MB RAM work with serato SL2?

  • si alguien ha tenido un problema con el cerrato que tiene un minuto de retraso

  • wait does scratch live recored only or is it to scratch ?

  • Come see my new mix

  • Does the soundcard that's in your computer matter for the quality of the sound?

  • @joethefuckinpro No. you will be using the serato hardware as your soundcard not your computers built in souncard.

  • @djhaiezone Thanks for the info. Can you also tell me what's the difference between sl1, sl3 and sl4?

  • fuck serato buy real Vinyl, suport the dj Industry / culture... suport turntalbeists.

  • @johnDfly I still buy vinyl underground hip hop is what I support.I use serato for gigs and I download all the wack radio shit.

  • @johnDfly I use serato and still buy vinyl regularly.

  • @johnDfly one of the points to this is you still buy vinyl, and mix using vinyl, but don't risk wearing out or scratching the original vinyl at a gig, so you use this instead.

  • @johnDfly How about you get with the times, and use both. Embrace technology, don't be scared of it.

  • fuck serato buy real Vinyl, suport the dj Industry / culture... suport turntalbeists

  • @johnDfly move on dude

  • I just purchased the scratch live, I'm an amateur dj. I have it set up and all but I can't load music onto the decks(on the computer) Can any be of help please?

  • what's a p3 700???? 2:38

  • I need help is there a way to sync the BPM so both songs are the same BPM

  • @ItalianxPolishxKid yeah, it's called, learn how to DJ. lol

  • can you use this proqram without having the turntable or is it necessary to have the equipment in order to use this?

  • @vb7e8 uhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • this is some crazy shit

  • wait. so this serato comes with 2 vinyls and when i plug everything in it and lets say i want to play an eminem track on one deck so i just press that eminem song. and if i want to change it to jay z it will turn to a jay z track? so i wont need to buy records?

  • @thecastman97 That's how it works. The SL1 you'll need is about $580 but worth every penny.

  • @TheWaynelds i see one on craigslist for 390

  • @thecastman97 Have you just watched the video?

  • homie is way too concentrated on the screen... use your ears #realdj

  • 13 people prefer to carry 20 crates of records to their gigs.

  • its not vinyl i does not even sounds as good as vinyl!

  • I highly recommend buying Serato if you buy tons of music like I do. It pays for itself quickly when you pay $.1.50 a digi vs $8 a vinyl. And I can still use all my vinyl collection with it. The program is pretty complete and let's me assign effects and functions through my midi controller. The turntable mechanics are identical when switching from vinyls to digi tracks. If you love the feel of a turntable but want access to digital mediums, this is the way to go.

  • this software its free?... for mac, anser me please.

  • @Ekhymosis the software is free but you need to buy the hardware

  • @Ekhymosis yeah. it's pretty much useless to download unless you have the hardware.

  • @Ekhymosis no its 500 bills

    nothing is free

  • does the seranto vinyls work with santon final scratch 2

  • no respect to the serato

    save the vinyl

  • @Freszuuu This is the way i see it but most new stuff isn't available on wax.. I hate to say it but I'm afraid its looking like the end of an era : (

  • @Freszuuu search for serato pressings, hardly killing vinyl

  • @Freszuuu Yeah but serato saves you from having to drag 20 crates of records upstairs at the clubs.

  • @TheWaynelds Yes i know but serato have no soul is just a mashine, i like old school hip hop i cant play music from serato i dont know i dont feel it .

  • im getting my sl1 tommorrow, so im analyzing all my music. anyone know why i cant get my bpms to show up on the music selection list?

  • what is a p3700?

  • So i will NEED the sl1 or sl3 for this?

  • So if I buy the Rane TTM 57SL than I don't need to buy a sl1 or sl3 if im not mistaking? Also why is this better than software like traktor pro? thanks for the video.

  • my school djs club has uses this

  • Hey cn someone tell me if the Macbook pro 15" i7 gud enuf to handle sl3 and its requirements?

  • Mac laptop was mentioned, Ive got a NEC laptop.. would that do the business?, or do i HAVE to buy a Mac? Im thinking on purchasing Serato, and I dont wana find out later, that I gotta upgade this and that blah blah blah... So do I need to upgade my laptop or just simply buy a mac?

  • Thats bad man, its better to use virtualDj, because it has 2 docks without any hardware....

  • only reason right now i like traktor more is for the MIDI mapping

  • this means u dont have to by vinels

  • do you have to get the scratch live kit to use the serato software on your computer? and does any other company make that type of vinyl?

  • I have installed it on PC but i aint got 2 loading docks on screen? How to have 2?

  • @DjDexter5GHz u need the sl1 or sl3 hardware for the 2 decks to show up

  • how do I udate my serato scratch live to have effects and drops

  • @DjDexter5GHz ......gotta have the SL 1 or SL 3 USB hardware interface.

  • @DjDexter5GHz the free software will be a single player. Only when the hardware box (sl1 or Sl3) is connected to your computer will the double decks appear.

  • This guy looks so sassy haha.

  • Why would we need the scratch live box

  • does it work with windows 7?

  • @bitesizerick Yes sir

  • @bitesizerick yes

  • @bitesizerick WINDOWS LOL

  • ok i know he answered this but i just want to make sure...

i have the pioneer cdj 400's. should i go buy this or get serato itch? i mean so far to me this is great but im not to sure if i should get this since im running cd's.? someone give me some feed back please.

  • @FlyingBeaner4545 i have a friend that uses pioneer cdj 1000's mk 3 and he's been using serato for years with them. my opinion get scratch live itch seems to be more geared towards midi controllers

  • @DJLongLastin

    so get live or itch?

and thanks a mill for helping me out

  • @FlyingBeaner4545 get live way more features

  • Comment removed

  • can u have serato hooked up to 2 vinyl turntables and 2 cdjs at the same time?

  • @flyersqb5 I think with the new Rane Sixty-Eight Mixer You can

  • @flyersqb5 with the rane sixty-eight mixer (cost €2899) but you'll also need 2 computers :(

  • do u need the serato box or can u use any usb sound card???

  • @DJimmenze you need the serato box to use serato scratch live

  • amazing)

  • I just bought SL3 and i have hooked it all up and it seems to be somewhat working, but i am getting VERY distorted sound through my computer speakers with barley any volume on my mixer or speakers. Its very crunchy.

NOW to connect turntables to SL3 it requires a ground wire. But I am using Stanton STR8 turntables which have a built in ground in the power cable. so there is no way for me to ground the turntable to the SL3 box.

I am wondering if thats the problem and if so, how to fix it.

  • he's good but DJ SARA's style is dozens of times hip-hop.

  • gordo sos un fraude, sali de ahi please

  • how can i get the second virtual deck on mac???

i ve got the free version from serato.com

  • The timecoded CD for Serato says 15 minutes on it! Does that mean you can only play it for 15 minuets and then you'll have to take it out and put it in again to work?

  • @ReboyGTR just play it back from the begining

  • i have a question(s)

do those two vinyl records come with it?

and can you give me that setup in the video

    pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease

  • @TheOnlinePerson

what do you mean a mixer? Cause no i will work with other brand mixers too.

If your talking about the hardware box that you hook the rca cables in then yes it will only work with Rane Scratch Live hardware box.

  • im not sure I havent used it wit any other hardware but serato

  • @djhaiezone

    midi controllers work in serato

  • @Rusty2540 yes midi controllers do work in serato

  • What does he mean by a P3700 or better PC???

I have got a new laptop which runs Windows 7 and it says my Sound Device is 'Intel(R) High Definition Audio HDMI'

    Would Serato work with it?

If anyone can respond and help then thank you :)

  • Oh and my processor is an 'Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 900 @ 2.20GHz, 2194 Mhz, 1 Core(s), 1 Logical Processor.

I just wrote down what it says i had on the system information.

Would this be good enough to run Serato?

  • It sounded like Pentium 3, 700mhz,

  • @MagicRaver225 - Means Pentium III 700MHZ... An old one =)

  • @MagicRaver225 - Sorry and about your sound card, don't worry about that cos' you only use a USB port to connect your PC/MAC with your serato hardware...!

  • does anyone know what set up he is using in this video? turn table wise....?

  • technics 1200mk2

  • Why yes, you most certainly can auto bpm ur song library!

    Follow these steps:

    Step 1: open scratch

    Step 2: unplug hardware

Step 3: right above the song crates located on the left, it will now say "build overviews"

Note: may take 2-3 min a song so plan ahead if u have a large library

  • is there a way for your music to be automatically bpm'd without the file name with the bpm already on it?? hope it made sense...

and as i see it. as long as you get down and rock it hard. it doesnt matter what you use...well as long as you can blend, scratch and cut... the basics... :D

  • Why is the emphasise always on scratching?

  • hey dudes i wanterd to ask since im getting a reloop iq.2 + mixer soon. The mixer is a digital mixer and i wanted to know if u could use the effects on the mixer itself with serato.. ?

  • can u use any turntable for scratch live?

  • yup

  • yes you can use any turntable

  • that is the biggest fucking gap in his teeth i have ever seen

  • @norro1234 It's for cleanin dingalings Lol Na sorry Rhthym Slave... Get it RHTHYM. SLAVE? LOL

  • @norro1234 well i guess u havn't seen 50 tyson hahahah

  • first quote.. hilarious..decond not so

  • Wonder if you can help me?

im tryna use just ONE vinyl with serato.. i can control one vinyl but i have no idea how to control both ..if you can help me wud b greatttttt

  • cool but it kinda kills the vinyl soul... or am I worng?

  • no you are right but you can use it to practise and you don't HAVE to use it.

but is ia an handy program

  • no cdjs kill the vinyl soul serato keeps it alive but with up to date technology

  • Ive been using Serato for years and love it!.. If its good enough for jazzy Jeff to use on every TV performance and live gig in the past few years then its good enough for anyone.. GET IT NOW!

  • IM doing a paper and i need to know how many countries use serato, if anyone can help

  • TRAKTORR!!!!!!

  • if you hook up serato scratch to vinyl turn tables can you still do loops just like cd players do??

  • yeah you have to be in relative mode

  • Comment removed

  • live my ass

  • does anyone know if i buy a ac adaptor for my serato box, could it possibly help the response time? the slight lag?

  • so, when is this supposed ableton collaboration gonna happen then ?

been an age since u lot mentioned that ?

I can't buy any DVS till that is done... I'll just keep on usin me vinyl ;till then ;]

  • yeeeeh

  • Man, there are some real chumps on this site. There is no real right or wrong way to make / DJ music. It's all about generating a vibe, a good time that people can enjoy, how you get there isn't important, the end result is. Peace.

  • how you get there isn't important? you're a joke along with the software you use

  • You need to chill out mate! I don't own the software, hence me looing at the promo video. I currently only use vinyl when I DJ, but that doesn't mean I can't check the advances in mixing! I've seen many top flight DJ's mixing all types of music using this software to great effect! And I think you missed my point, what was implying was if your an awesome DJ and your killing it in the club, what does it matter if your mixing Vinyl, CD or MP3!? It's all about the music dude!

  • I don't own the software mate, hence me checking out the promotional video. I only use vinyl when I spin, but that shouldn't stop me checking out the advances in mixing! I've seen many top flight DJ's, mixing all genres of music on it to great effect! And I think you missed my point, what I was implying was that if your an awesome DJ smashing it in a club what does it matter if you use vinyl, CDs or MP3!? Its all about the music mate! Peace.

  • shit like this takes difficult and skilled talents and turns them into something every kid with a mommy with money can fuck with. fuck technology, fuck this stupid british fuck and fuck all of you

  • british!? the DJ is from New Zealand and the guy talking sounds like he is Australian or something...

  • makes no difference to me, there isn't a turntablist nowadays other than myself who doesn't use this cheap bullshit. serato users basically put a stamp on their forehead saying talentless

  • Q-bert dont use it. Check out Jazzy Jeffs comments on why he says he uses it in the related videos. You cant say he isnt talented. Have you used it? I dont like the concept of it myself really, although some use it for efficiency, i like collecting records. btw do you or anyone else know of any decent scratch records which are pretty cheapish?

  • it's like a 800-1000 dollar mixer. and the software along w/ the usb hooks. you think the mixer is shit?

you must be living on an island if your making statements like that. or just a closet 'mo' dj.

  • your calling DJ Muggs, Pete Rock, Mix Master Mike, etc tools? FUCK YOU DUMBASS

  • dude you're not special. people can use whatever the fuck they want.

  • the sound of vinyl cannot be replaced by mp3

  • yeah using this does make the sound have more of a hiss'n noise. but it's more it's smaller supplies or gear to lug around with you. nothing replace scratch vinyl records though. w/ tons of samples. still you need to have the skills. it's the same setup. i do believe you can drop like normal and bump skip to parts in songs. though it's not good for your needles or records. i've done it w/ traditional records.

  • old school guys that love records or vynil have to give in, this shit is awesome. there are some draw backs to computer dj, but is no big deal when you could carry over 17,000 tracks a million loops, etc in your hardrive, technology is here to stay, and if you really make 100% of your living doing this shit then you have to switch over, people asking me all the time were the hell i got that old track on vinyl they don't know shit about serato i just smile. is awesome.

  • TRAKTOR SCRATCH PRO

  • let me finish that sentence for you

    ...SUCKS!

    lol

  • I know you're joking, because anyone who is serious about digital dj-ing knows that Traktor is superior.

  • idk man...

iv never seen any real DJ's use that program

  • It depends on what you consider a 'real' dj. If you like Hip-Hop, plenty of battle scratch champs use Traktor because of its superior time-code response. If you like dance music, most of the big names are choosing Traktor over Serato because of its smpling and effects. I guess the only DJ's who really use Serato are bar and cheap-club dj's....

  • wow... you really need to get out more if you believe that!

  • richie hawtin ! lol thats a "real " dj

  • damn... if that's not the one person everyone always brings up.

even so... still never seen a real DJ use it.

only kids that think they can DJ because they can put together a iTunes playlist

  • so jazzy jay/jazzy jeff/funk master flex/a-trak/craze/qbert aren't real dj's bro stfu.........

  • first off Q-Bert doesn't use digital DJ programs you idiot!

both A-Trak & Jazzy Jeff uses Serato... NOT Traktor!

know your info before you try to call someone out about it!

  • my bad i thought u was talking about serato... my bad..

    craze uses traktor though..

  • haha naw... i would never patronize Traktor.

    Serato all day for me!

  • Are you really that butt-hurt about Traktor beign better than Serato??? C'mon man. I said its 'technically' better, which it is. If you look up the technical stats about Traktor vs. Serato, Traktor beats serato in every way. I know more DJ's use Serato, and I know its the 'industry standard'. That doesn't mean its actually a better performing software. 4-decks, full midi control, 2khz time codes, 23 effects, 9.7 dBu soundcard. are some of the aspects where Traktor excels over Serato.

  • butt hurt... that's a little elementary school don't you think?

anyways i do admit i know virtually nothing about the tech side of things but as iv said before and plan on saying for the last time...

i have never seen a real DJ use it, and until i do my opinion in Serato being better will stand

  • Your opinion stands, but the argument is subjective because your idea of a real DJ can, and will differ from mine. I consider a person like James Zabiela, a real DJ, because he makes unique sounds on the fly, in a live performance. Even though he doesn't use turntables, he still uses his equipment to the fullest in order to create a unique show. Your idea of a real DJ might be of a turntablist, or someone like Jazzy Jeff, who scratches and beat matches on the fly. Diff. music, diff. DJ styles.

  • ... and after looking at your video's it looks like your a Serato Scratch Live user your damn self, so why are we having this conversation?

  • Traktor is the shit !

  • what's the cheapest you've seen scratch live for sale??

  • Comment removed

  • $540 for the sl 1 setup new or 480 used. (usb box that connects to your current mixer and ttables) or sl 3 $700. TTM 57SL i saw a few months ago for $1,200 new. but seems the price has been bumped up a bit at places because of the economy and people want Rane's digital dj kits over Native's Traktor, M-Audio, Mixvibes, or Numark. i don't know which one is the most reliable w/ quality of product and the computer program.

  • That guy looks like forest griffin

  • dude i was thinking the same ,,lol

  • This is bullshit ! i have old vinyls and you have fucking pc and files from nowhere, what music u play with no soul and no history.

And one more ive got money and i can buy this shit but i have respect to the old records u not.

  • "U gotta have a con in this land of milk and honey." Grandmaster Flash and Furious Five

  • Comment removed

  • Would it be possible to control Serato SL3 using the TTM 57sl? Or are they going to make a new TTM mixer which is integrated with SL3?

  • ok old man, get with the times, scratch live is fucking amazing.
