HI MIKE! I JUST WATCHED YOUR VIDEO, THINKS IT'S GREAT. I HAVE A SMALL PHOTO GROUP AND NEXT WEEKS THEME IS ROT'S.
THIS MAY SOUNDS LIKE A STRANGE REQUEST, BUT HOW WOULD YOU FEEL ABOUT JOINING OUR GROUP? WE ARE BASICLY ALL BEGINNERS, EXCEPT FOR A COUPLE OF MEMBERS. THOSE OF US WISH TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THIS ART. HOW WOULD YOU FEEL ABOUT GIVING US A FEW POINTERS. I'LL CHECK BACK NEXT WEEK AND SEE IF YOU'VE READ THIS AND HOPEFULLY YOU WONT THINK I'M NUTS. LOL BYE FOR NOW.
@lindalovealisa Hi - sorry for the long delay replying, I don't come here as often as I'd like or should. Where's your group and how do I join? Please drop me an email (quickest method) via our website and let me know... It's linked from my profile and at the top of the film (YT doesn't allow web addresses in posts) Mike
@aidanhill Yes - that's the way I'd it. You could also set a single spot focusing mode and set it on the windmill afer lining up your composition - or even do it manually. There are lots of choices with focus modes. When the video section goes live on our website (15th November) there's a film all about where to focus in the Getting 'Sharp Images' section.
Fantastic video, really hope the rest are going to be this helpful and presented so nicely. I had one question though, is this series going to be free over youtube or possibly a download on your site, or will it be a DVD I will have to buy in the future and these clips are just teasers for it.
@ZlligillZ Hi there thanks very much for your comments - we're certainly hoping they will be helpful! We're currently making a whole series of films that will cover all the basics. But that's just the start - it'll be growing each month, looking at all sorts of areas of photography. Although there will be always be some free videos on Youtube, the bulk of films will be available by monthly subscription from the Autumn, so please visit our site to check on our progress, cheers Mike
@ZlligillZ Hi - the videos will be available via monthly subscription on our site photography courses dot biz sometime in the Autumn (UK). We'll be adding more films each month to so there'll always be something new for you. Visit the site to find out what we have in the pipeline. Best... Mike

So do you focus first on the windmill, and then move the camera to the right and take the photo?
