  • Not Kay Kat whoops lol

  • Gail should have licked the spoon who cares what Kay said hahahhahah

  • what is that "Kat" stand for, i barely figured "omg" :(

  • @bujmal it's a shorter version of my given name - Kat

  • No sugar?

  • @MrJustice01 There is a lot of sugar in that chocolate sauce to begin with! :D - Kat

  • In the UK we generally use a chocolate syrup. I'm not really one for a mocha though - I've never really tasted one. If I was to do it.... I'd simply make a hot chocolate and add an espresso shot.

I generally make a hot chocolate by steaming finely ground milk chocolate with milk.

  • @garyscottadamson Either way sounds delicious but your hot chocolate sounds amazing! Please make one and send my way, thanks :) - Kat

  • thank u for posting the video

  • @jimmydoan007 You're welcome! - Kat

  • You should make a video on how to make a frappuccino like the ones from Starbucks. I've always wanted to know how they do that!

  • @mrfantastik7 Don't they just throw everything in a blender? I didn't know they had a special secret - Kat

  • @SeattleCoffeeGear

    Pretty much, yeah.

  • What if you don't have a mocha machine then what do you do?

  • @uhavemooface there is no mocha specific machine -- any machine will get the job done if it can make coffee and steam milk ;) - Kat

  • I use powder chocolate but let the whipping motion of the steam mix it, rather than have to mix it first. Also I just use the mug I'm going to be drinking it in as this saves washing up more things! :D

  • @TheNatchers :D - Kat

  • Ive found that combining the milk with powdered chocolate can give you just as good foam as with just milk...

  • @tresbrie We don't have powdered chocolate on hand to test, so thank you for sharing your experience! :) - Kat

  • I only learned how to use an espresso machine yesterday, my first cafe job ever, and I'm really nervous because I didn't know how to make a mocha... This is really helpful - it's good to know that there isn't one right way to make one. I know I'm going to be really crap for the first while so I hope they're patient!

  • @DemstarAus Oh, and the machine we have is really powerful, it makes the milk fill up the jug really quickly so it's tricky to manage.

  • @DemstarAus Yeah, it's definitely a trick to learn how to steam milk well on those powerful machines!! But you'll get the hang of it quickly, I'm sure. Congrats on the new job!! :) - Kat

  • Pause at 1:53 and you can see Kat's reflection in the machine!

  • @FernovaProductions Oh no are you saying my poorly kept secret is finally out?!?!?! ;) - Kat

  • What is pre-infusion exactly?

  • @joeldamianicigan Allowing some water to wet the puck before you begin the full extraction process; the idea is that it will limit the possibility that the puck will crack under the extraction pressure. Not all coffees work well with pre-infusion, however, so you have to experiment a bit. - Kat

  • It seems you can never have too much coffee flavor in a mocha. I've been getting a black cherry flavored mocha almost every Thursday when my mom takes her Mercedes in for a car wash. They have a coffee bar at the dealership with a barrista and she makes drinks on a large semi-auto that better that of Starbucks by far especially with a syrup that Starbucks normally does not stock.

  • @joeldamianicigan wow -- that sounds delicious, definitely a treat! - Kat

  • @iloveyouxo1994 Cool! :) - Kat

  • @SayHelloPandaBear Sure - we sell tons of sauces and syrups on our site :) - Kat

  • illy- the best coffee going!!

  • @06summerfieldl It is great -- not sure if it's the best, since that's subjective, but it is pretty darn good. :) - Kat

  • those look yumtastic!

  • @therealFranzpan It has chocolate and coffee in it -- of course it is! ;) - Kat

  • 3:59 that was fantastic

  • @abcborgess lol :D - Kat

  • mums fav =D

  • @Malangsufi :D - Kat

  • i'm curious.. does kat ever appear in the videos?

  • @petarc Nope - it ain't my thing :) - Kat

  • i like adding the ghirardelli chocolate with a little sweetened condensed milk. I find with steaming chocolate milk I need more espresso.

  • @peterrabbit32 That sounds really good - I will try that out! - Kat

  • i need to try this some day! looks really tasty!

Thx for the vid ''Camera shy'' Kat and ''Grammy'' Gail - :P - And tomorrow you need to mention me in your vid, as one of your biggest fans! :D (would be so cool!! ;P)

    Take Care!

  • @skoredreng The next time we shoot I'll try to get it in there -- Grammy Gail is taking off on vacation, so we filmed a bunch before she left but new ones won't be shot until late August. So maybe you'll see it then ;) Thanks again, so much, for watching! - Kat

  • @SeattleCoffeeGear Okay, Thanks ^^.. Btw, Aint you uploading a new vid today ;/?

  • @skoredreng I'll be doing every other business day until Gail comes back so that they are evenly distributed -- don't have enough for the whole time she's gone! So you'll have to wait til Monday - sorry :( - Kat

  • @SeattleCoffeeGear Well.. its monday now :D?!? :P

  • @skoredreng I put one up! Tough crowd ;) - Kat

  • awesome! Please con't to make HOW TOs :)

  • @oOpsychochickOo We'll try to :) - Kat

  • I'm thinking I need a Mocha now!! But I agree with Gail ... it need to be a quad shot!

  • @winelover215 Ha - totally - or maybe just a little less o the milk/chocolate. - Kat

  • As much of an espresso purist that I like to think I am.... can't help but love a good mocha!

  • Second mocha also looks like Pac-Man :D

  • @Bektvel I agree! I am primarily a shot drinker with a little bit of hot water, but every so often, a mocha hits the spot :) - Kat

  • Is Kat a "real" person, or is Gail just a very talented ventriloquist?

  • @watcherjohnny I am just a figment of everyone's imagination :D - Kat

  • @SeattleCoffeeGear I'm betting your creditors don't let you off the hook with that excuse. And neither do your YouTube subscribers. It's time to step from behind the curtain Kat! It's time to make your big SeattleCoffeeGear début!

  • @watcherjohnny What makes you think I have creditors? That's a firm no on being featured in a video - I am best behind the scenes (I direct/produce/edit them -- can't possibly star in them as well!) :D - Kat

  • @SeattleCoffeeGear This gives me an excuse to head out West! Come stalk Kat so I can see what she looks like! Maybe I need to bribe Gail with some Gin to get her on camera for us? Hmm that should work.

  • @winelover215 Ha - good luck with that, although she is pliable when it comes to gin! :D - Kat

  • @winelover215 Tom if you're going out west i want to go.

  • @watcherjohnny INVENTORY - that's what make me think creditors!

FYI - you ALREADY co-star in your vids - you can't deny that.

Give your lovely co-star, Gail, a break! Share the burden of stardom!!!!

  • @watcherjohnny Gail's neck is on the line for all that gear, not mine! I am just a lowly serf ;) I may be a co-star but I am camera shy and Gail loves to be the show pony so it works out well :D - Kat

  • @SeattleCoffeeGear Camera shy?? We're not talkin "blue" here Kat! I think Gail wants you on cam too, don't you Gail.

  • @watcherjohnny Yeah - no. :D - Kat
