  • Most models,it is cheaper to buy a strut assembly and most parts store sell them.Cheaper than to buy the spring, strut plate and strut seperately

  • Great Job man!

  • @7Storm7

    Thank you!

  • man tell me if its a good deal there tein S-techs and have kyb struts. for 250 with less thAN 5K ive never done a suspension job but i think all buy them and try it i have a 1997 honda civic its on my channel if you want to check it out but do i have to transfer the old stuff from the sturts onto the new one please help thanks for the video very informative

  • @ilovedesi13

If the struts are compatible with your car they should bolt right on without having to swap parts with your old struts. I'm not familiar with pricing for those struts so I really couldn't say but hopefully someone else will see this and be able to answer that for you. Sorry I can't be of more help

  • hey dude?!! is that your dirty underwear you using??

  • @mrq1900

No, it's your sister's dirty underwear.

  • @frylockthefryman no my sister is to skinny to wear a parachute underwear. i think it might be your mama's underwear. man she got a big ass dude, big as an elephant ass.

  • @mrq1900

It's a white t-shirt. It's unfortunate you don't have the intelligence to identify a simple piece of clothing like that.

  • @frylockthefryman awwww what's the matter?did i hurt your feeling?saying about your mama's underwear?just cry and let everthing all out, it will be alrite ok. did i know it was a shirt, did it say it was a shirt. did you mention in your video, no!! when you folded and lay your shirt like that it look like an underwear. seriously you americans take things so seriously and so funking sensitive. a person just said something you all get offened.

  • @frylockthefryman it is true what countries says about americans. DUMB.......

  • @mrq1900

I don't see how what country a person is from can be used to determine how smart they are. That is called stereotyping, which is, in itself, ignorant and as you would say DUMB. You gave me a stupid comment so I gave you a stupid comment back. Don't waste my time and use up comment space to demonstrate your immaturity.

  • It's called a bump stop. Not a stopper. And shit all my struts leak oil. They seem to ride fine though

  • Very helpful video im going to change my rear end control arm do i need to conpress the springs too?

  • @310richard

It may depend on the vehicle but probably not. For my car I didn't have to.

  • im having problems removing da nut right on top of this thing dmm it..! cant get it loose

is there any other way to get it loose besides that what is now?

  • im having problems removing da nut right on top of this thing dmm it..! cant get it loose

  • Im gonna try this tommrow. Pray to God that I dont screw up. LoL!!

  • great video, helped me out alot. much props

  • hey man i was looking at shocks in the shop and the piston rod is very tough to pull out from the shock and is very tough to push down when extended... its an oil based shocker... the guys over there say thats how a shocker should be... its perfect... is it? it has no compression/decompression going on... its stiff in and stiff out... what do you think about that?

  • @invisagod666

Some cars have stiffer shock absorbers than others so that may be true on your vehicle but all the ones I've seen go in and out smoothly and you can feel resistance as you compress it and decompress it.

  • lower ur car too much and blow the shocks

  • Can you lower or raise your car just by getting a bigger or smaller spring or would you have to get the whole strut assembly

  • @DCrepresenter

Yes you can get aftermarket springs for your struts that will lower or raise the car.The blue springs you see on my struts in the video are lowered springs so they are a bit thinner than the oem springs.

  • @frylockthefryman Thanks so say I wanted my car to be 5 inches off the ground how would I figure out what size spring to get

  • @DCrepresenter

When you buy the spring it should tell you how much it lowers the car.

  • @DCrepresenter you can most def. you can keep your stock shocks and just buy custom springs, and make it work that way. For life longevity, you might want to get coilovers. ( u dont wanna do hard driving on stock shocks and then blow them!)

  • @fat09 coil covers are new words in my automotive vocab thanks for the info.

  • very helpfull as im attempting to change my springs today, cheers

  • where do you get the spring compressor?

  • @redbeardo0o

I got mine from Advance auto parts.

You can also get them at Autozone or you could probably get one pretty cheap online.

  • @frylockthefryman in canada theres princess auto, canadian tire, part source, maslacks, and autozone

  • ALWAYS keep the spring part away from your body, you'll never know when these spring compressor will fail, and if it dose the coil may impale you causing serious injuries or death.

  • good job/video

  • @paulsjunkcars

    Thank you

  • ive save some money!......thanx bro!

  • @rdonayre

Glad to help and thanks for the comment

  • I give you my sincere thanks! For $40 (for the spring compressor) and a few hours of my time I'll save over $500 in labor on my Audi. You're the man!

  • i saw those coil/spring compressors at autozone for 35 bucks, i need to change my shocks too. NIce video buddy =D

  • best strut vid

  • hey bro i got the same . but i have coulivers and is it the same steps like the one u did????? please answer back asp thanks, and by the way nice video

we need more people like u , to how to show use how to things

  • With coilovers, instead of using strut compressors, you release the spring pressure by loosening the spring retainer nut at the bottom of the spring, using the special wrench for that nut to loosen it.

I'm glad you liked my video, thanks for the comment!

  • nice video man, will drop my car tomorrow morning and this was helpful.

i heard some people dont use spring compressors just clams.

  • I,ll buyme some of those spring compressors at the dollar store or aldi

  • how much did you pay for your spring compressors?

Do you think valve spring compressors would work?

Can I find one of those compressors at walmart?

    And great video btw

  • I bought my strut compressor from Advance auto parts for about $50.

You can also rent it and when you return it they refund your money 100%.

I don't think a valve spring compressor would work but i'm not sure.

Wal Mart probably wouldn't sell something like this but they have tools so you could check.

    Thanks!

  • You're welcome,thanks for the positive feedback!

  • what kind of spring do u have i like the video planing to change my suspenssion

  • The blue spring that was on it was just a lowered aftermarket spring.I bought the struts used and replaced the aftermarket springs with the stock ones. You can find the lowered springs on ebay though,I seen some like the ones I had on there.

  • great video man! very informative.

  • Thanks,glad you liked it!
