I don't mind his voice. Sonic was most likely mute in the commercial because him doing dialogue would've been distracting from the true main characters in the spot (Flo and her assistant).

I'm mixed on that. I don't mind if Sonic is to kept mute or say few little words in the 2D side-scroller games or small ads like this ad but I think in cartoons/films and the modern 3D games he has to talk. I'm so use to him having a voice even back then.
