River Song can't be used for very long, because we know she survives well and unharmed into the Library. Putting her in danger or using her in any capacity other than to visit in a safe place (like her home) would be a false sense of danger (unless they use equally ridiculous means of resurrecting her as they did the master, which would further fail to suspend disbelief).
You haven't seen enough of his performance to judge yet. From what Steven Moffat has said about him, he sounds like he's going to be a very inriguing prospect from Doctor Who. Good luck Matt.

I have been watching Dr. Who since I was a child. I well remember William Hartnell, the first Dr. Who. He had been my favourite, but, for me David Tennant is and always will be THE Dr Who I love the most. I will really miss him, he gave he role character and believability, appealed to a wide audience and I really hoped he would change his mind and stay with the role. It will never be the same, for me, when he leaves. Good luck David for the future, perhaps one day you will return, Who knows?!

I'm sure he'll guide young Mr. Smith (another irony) into making a classic Doctor. I will miss David...but I am ravenously looking forward to spring 2010.

Matt Smith isn't old enough to be The Doctor, he's more like a 1st year medical student.
Doctor Who was a Grandfather figure,
Then later more of an Uncle figure,
but to give the role to someone so young will I think lose the show many many fans.

He had been my favourite, but, for me David Tennant is and always will be THE Dr Who I love the most. I will really miss him, he gave he role character and believability, appealed to a wide audience and I really hoped he would change his mind and stay with the role. It will never be the same, for me, when he leaves. Good luck David for the future, perhaps one day you will return, Who knows?!

Meh Doctors come and go, I have to agree, but this was a nice tribute. Peter Davison will forever be the best Doctor ever, as well as Patrick Troughton and Jon Pertwee. The new Doctors can't even compare to those guys. Sorry, but it's true. But David was brilliant as the tenth Doctor. and I am willing to give Matt a try... Tom Baker was a goofy looking Doctor, but no one cared- why should looks matter???

Rose looked in to the heart of the TARDIS and absorbs the time vortex which was killing her, the Doctor (9) kisses her and absorbing the vortex from Rose but he has to regenerate because it was killing him too.
you shoul really watch series 1. Christopher Eccleston was the best (actually a tie with me).

I have seen Matt in a cupple of films where he was fantastic in his role and I think his got a great sens of humor but I don't think he is gonna be as good a Doctor as david and I will miss David a lot cause he is the perfect Doctor but I think Matt is going to do it in his own spicial way and that is great and maby he is what we all need to get over David

When it was announced that Chris Eccleston was leaving ppl were like.. David who??? remember that? Now he's become the greatest Doctir since Baker. Tom that is. Remember when Tom Baker left ... ppl couldn't get let it go until Davidson stepped up and made it his own? Lest we forget.. Tom Moffat is a brilliant writer. I'm sure he'll guide young Mr. Smith (another irony) into making a classic Doctor. I will miss David...but I am ravenously looking forward to spring 2010.
