Anyone who watched FREDDIE DRYer as "Hunter" knows his catch phrase "It works for me" was uttered at the end of the show opening. This fits perfectly with "Where exactly did you come from?" queries of Jane-come-lately types who mirror Stefanie Kramer as DEE DEE McCall. All of this could evoke Dustin Hoffman & Meryl Streep in 1979's "KRAMER vs. KRAMER". Streep: born JUNE 22, 1949 (no doubt a 30th birthday for some granny) Comic Freddie Prinze: born on Streep's 5th birthday. Unrelated: Elena Kagan
lol that's right! he's clearly tucked to the right and u can make out his ass. just about every episode of hunter where he's wearing jeans (and they're ALWAYS tight) u can see which side he's tucked.
Here's some clues as to when this took place, one clue in particular, that I hadn't even noticed before, proves that this interview took place in late 1987. . Fred says his daughter is 3 1/2 years old. Since she was born in April of 1984, that places this interview late in 1987.
Jay Leno guest hosted the Tonight Show several times before Johnny retired.
Jay's first line says Hunter airs on NBC Saturday nights at 10 p.m. Hunter ended in April of 1991.
Wow, Jay sucks as an interviewer. Fred Dryer rocks, though.

Another great cop show got cancelled by NBC.
now we got stupid reality shows. and nobody watches tv anymore. Bring back to 70 & 80 TV back anytime. Works for me. !!

This was about 1986 or 1987.

That can't be the 80s because Johnny left the show in '91 or '92 and then came Leno.
