A message from Jamie Lee Curtis about LAM

Sorry but I cannot support any organization that conducts or contributes donation dollars towards animal research. Who are we to put our lives above those of helpless animals without a voice??? I am a woman and if I develop this or any other awful disease then that it my lot in life. Perhaps a cleaner life without food additives, msg, processed foods, meat etc is a better alternative. Just a thought.. it's worked for me so far.

@RescuedBeagle I pray you never have to look your mother or daughter in the eye as they are suffocating to death and tell them this after they develop this disease, which has no cure or treatment. There is also no known CAUSE.  Women of all lifestyles have this disease, including those with "clean lives" and I can tell you there are few more concerned or watchful of their everyday health.

@ktcos I pray that you DO look into the eyes of an innocent laboratory beagle or other research animal & explain to them why you feel that you or anyone else has the right to live more than they do. When you meet your maker maybe you can ask if you are worth it. My guess is that God will answer no you nor any other human who puts themselves above another of God's creatures. I would rather live a good life and find out that I am wrong about God or live a bad life and find out I was right!

@JunoRescuedBeagle I hope you NEVER have to deal with something like this. I am a clean person, live a clean life and have a farm with free-ranged birds, a garden, our own fruit and more.  I am saddened to see such a STUPID remark. I guess in your "perfect" world, you lack the intelligence to know pain and love. Sucks for you!

@CartwrightCorral It is your ignorance calling a complete strangers remarks stupid when you clearly didnt read it or understand it. Perhaps your ills are more related to the unclean and angry life you live in your mind which causes you so much pain. May God have mercy on your soul. Shame on you for putting yourself above another living creature. But perhaps you have gotten what you deserve. Answer me this... What gives you the right?

my younger sister was diagnosed as of Monday September 15th 2010.. this is something I wish I could have just to take away her pain.. She has been diagnosed with TSC when she was really young, and now this.. I just want her to be healthy and she cant be.. its always something new..

I am a newly diagnosed Lam patient. I was diagnosed in October of 2008. Jamie Lee Curtis couldnt have said this any better. As of Yesterday I wrote a letter to our govenor here in Iowa and asked him for a proclamation to acknowledge rare disease day which is february 28 2010.

I cried while watching this just now. I was diagnosed with LAM in 2000 when I was 19 years old, due to a collapsed lung. I pray everyday for researchers to find a cure for LAM. So that myself and everyone else who suffers with this HORRIBLE disease can oneday live life without struggling to breathe on a daily basis. Thanks for the video!! Take Care
