  • Couple more things- back of mine is quartersawn not flame design like yours. My tuners are plastic

  • I have an eco ranger 6 - was my first guitar. Mine was pre 1973 - identified by the fancier rosette. Yours would have been built after 73. The bridge on yours is quite different also - mine is really cracked so maybe yours was replaced? Interesting to see another one - you never stop loving your first!

  • @xXxGr33N3RxXx

  • Do you know from which year your EKO is?

  • Just got one today for free! However, mine is the Eston version. (Eko released in Australia) I absolutely love it already, and I think this will be a lifetime keeper!

Good luck with yours, enjoy it!

  • I have that guitar

  • EKO ARE MADE IN ITALY.......NICE GUITARS

  • ...what a beautiful guitar..... i love vintage version too.....

  • Thanks for the compliment. I'm not sure what these EKOs are made of . This particular one does sound nice. The necks are very slim and easy to play.

  • @GibbonsGuitars I got a 12string EKO looks like that year about.

    they are cool guitars.

  • sounds good. Actually i am rather surprised... The EKOs i 've seen and tried to play with, many years ago, were all-laminate, even the soundboard was made of very thick laminate wood, that looked more like the kind of material used for making ...cabinets and drawers. They all sounded ...kinda dead !

does this one have a solid top ?

    great playing, by the way.

  • Also I use medium gauge strings. The give more volume and sustain and sound way better than lights. But they are hard on the fingers if your not used to mediums.

  • John pearse are mellower and buttery smooth sounding with lots of overtones that the EKO is lacking. I can't decide which ones I like the best.

  • I alternate between Martin SP Phos Bronze and John Pearse Phos Bronze because I like them both. Martins are crisp and clear especially on the bass strings. John pearse

  • Thanks for the compliment. Actually, I have decent technique, but I keep getting stuck, playing the same 7 or 8 short riffs for every guitar I sell. EKOs can be nice guitars. The only serious problem I've EVER seen with one is harsh finish cracking. They may have dyed the wood before finishing.....anyway, if you want to upgrade, or buy something else different, let me know. I'm on ebay for hours per day. Cheers, Richard Gibbons

  • you play great and its an awsome guitar! i also own a eko acoustc but it was cheaper er think :P

  • Baltimore, Maryland, USA.

  • I have the exact same guitar since 1977. I love this guitar. Its my main player. I have more expensive guitars Martins etc. but I always play my EKO. We have similar playing styles too. I do a lot of finger picking. What part of the world do you live?

    Thanks
