My mother's name is Sveta or Svetlana Timofeevna and if Yegorova by any chance would've had any daughters or a family after her I would like to know. I'm saving to go back and visit. I'm so glad this was uploaded and I miss my home country - next step which should be easy is to relearn Russian.
I was born in 1986 in St Petersburg Russia and was adopted to the US in 1996. My Russian name is Sasha Timofeev Alexander Annatolievich. For some reason I sincerely believe I'm related to Lt. Anna A. Yegorova Timofeevna. I look just like her in her youthful age when she flew the Il-2 Shturmovik. I may have been wrong about all this time but can anyone please help me get some sort of family tree leniage?? Preferably someone in Russia who would be able to get a hold of this information.
Despite they were falling behind enemy lines, none of them is MIA. Graves of all 32 were found after war. None of "Night Witches" was captured as a POW.
At this page you can find a list with 26 female combat pilots of 46th Guards Battalion awarded with medal of "Hero of Soviet Union", and numbers of their flights. Most of them are from 600 to 900!
@BitnikGr - Among those 26: 12 are Russians, 7 are Ukrainians 2 are Tatars 2 are Jewish 1 is Belorussian 1 is Kazakh 1 is Kalmykian - On that Wiki page you can click on their names and see their faces.
