Unfortuante, but these things do happen even with the correct preflights and initial build ... but landing was appauling though considering its a trainer Jet, the turbine should have been cut on the final and theres no reason a 2 wheeled landing on a fire proof strip could not have been attempted ... Do you have insurance and a B certificate? If I had made such a hash of this I would not be broadcasting it ....
Did that guy at the end take off his hat, get down on his knees, and start praying? Looks like it to me. Probably praying his wife does not find out how much that toy airplne cost his family. OUCH!!!
I've seen several guys forced to land legs-up on grass with jets. The key to success is do a low approach first to judge the rate of sink then, on the final approach-proper, kill the engine well before touchdown to reduce the risk of fire. We've never had an incendiary yet when doing that.
