  • Awesome intro. The Japanese version had blood dripping down from the title, making it much more darker and creepier. Also, the gravestone said "Dracura" in the Japanese version lol.

  • I'm sorry but how in the hell could you dislike this?

  • Ok, lets keep it real here, castlevania 4 was the best platformer castlevania....if we...could somehow....make castlevania SOTN and castlevania 4 fuck and have a child....we would have a simons quest hybrid from hell that would redefine the gaming market.

  • @Spocktavian That is brilliant and I want to give you a pineapple carved in the shape of a bat in congratulations.

You will have to settle for the thought.

  • why is everyone talking about metroid? castlevania is a completely different game. just because the graphics are updated doesn't really mean anything. i'd say the first few renditions of this game were just as imaginative if not more than metroid.

  • I think Super CastleVania 4 is one the best and while SotN is good there are too many flaws for it to be throughly enjoyed properly and it's way too over hyped. The latter Metroid Vania games were much better. The 2nd castle being a prime example, the crappy experience, the familiars that were terrible to level up because they received shitty exp. SotN is a wonderful game but it isn't the best. This is one of the best but the Sorrow games and Lament of Innocence stand out to me

  • The Music is what makes this opening Scary. I remember seeing this as a child and every time I visit a graveyard this music is always stuck in my head till this day.

  • @Link12ize bahahahahahahaha your such a little cry baby. Idiot fuck face is scared of vampires bahahahahahahahahahahahahah stupid shit fuck!!!

  • @HunterOfTheNight100 Fuck you tit biscuit I aint got time for some punk ass. Talking shit through a comment dosn't make clever bitch.

  • waddya mean nothing here?! 0-0

  • Wish someone could make a modern track from this. I always liked 16bit sound, but this track deserves an update with a good synthesizer.

  • Wow, that must've been the creepiest fucking opening from the early 90's O.o

  • @SethTheArcticFox92 Shut your fat ass up you stupid little twip. You must be an 8 year old who gets scared of everything, which is why they don't make good games like this anymore. THANKS ALOT IDIOT!!!

  • @HunterOfTheNight100

Not sure if troll, or just stupid.

  • I love CastleVania hands down and I think SotN was way over rated. granted it's a good game and I thoroughly enjoy it just the upside down exactly the same just with more challenging enmies thing was a rip off. Coulda put a completely different castle in there. That's why harmony of Dissonance will never set strongly with me as it's 4 times the same castle. The copy and the dark world things' been over done put it to rest be original.

  • This theme is IMO the best of all Castlevania games - and one of the best themes in any videogame before or after.

At 2:20 the track becomes so phat and epic, I knew from the first time I played it that this was a classic. Konami really made great use of the SNES sound chip in all their games from that era - Castlvania, Turles In Time, Super Contra/Probotector, just to name a few.

Anybody know if there is an arranged version of this theme??

  • It's just the best castlevania ever...the atmosphere is just awesome...and the music on 1.00min ist fucking scary...SNES-Times were the best video game times ever..I miss that time..

  • Simon Belmont ?? Geez how old is he????

  • NIIIICE

  • Yeah, I was scared of it too back in the day!! SNES kicks the shit out of lame-ass Call of Duty...

  • @TheBabaORileyFactor thought i was lost in my opinion, sick of all these

souless first person shooters myself, SNES was a wonderful console

  • Super Castlevania IV > Symphony of the Night. This intro used to scare the piss out of me when I was really little.

  • I *strongly* disagree that 4 is better than symphony, but i agree 4's intro is incredibly atmospheric and foreboding

  • lol, well I happen to be of the crowd that *strongly* AGREES that 4 is better than SotN. Then again, I'm one of the few that thinks SotN is over-rated to begin with =/

  • I have to agree with BMStrength. SotN was, basically, the bastard child of Metroid and Zelda. Not to mention I don't care much for the whole "effeminate hero" thing that started with SotN. If it wasn't for his display of raw power and lack of sparkling, I'd say he's a shittier fagpire than Edward Cullen.[/blaspheme]

  • @BeholdMyStrength In my opinion 4 and SotN are good game but i must remind you that they were mot made the same way with 4 being like 1 and 3 in gameplay. SotH was what i'd call a castleroid since it play more like a metroid game but it is definetly a castlevania game. What's your opinion on Castlevania: Circle of the Moon on the GBA? I think Castlevania: Circle of the Moon is the WORST Castlevania.

  • @BeholdMyStrength To be fair, they're completely different games.

CV4 has a different composer with a different visual style with a foreboding air.

SOTN was Michiru Yamane with a jazzy, spooky soundtrack mixed with a bright, varied environment that more brought out the fantastic, wonderous but also terrifying nature of Castlevania. That said, I love both games equally and my childhood wouldn't have been the same without either.

  • @KarasawaL30 True they're both different styles, but they are both Castlevania games. All I'm saying is that I believe the style of CV4, and the way it was pulled off, with the music, smoothness of the controls, and just the overall atmosphere, was much better than SotN. I like SotN, don't get me wrong. But do I prefer it over CVIII or CV4? Not a chance.

  • @Cmontferrat Ho God, I have to say that BMS has a point right here. Castlevania 4 is indeed better than SotN, at all lvls : music, nostlagia, gameplay...

  • @Cmontferrat i think this game is better...

  • " Denn die Todten reiten schnell."

  • i dont know the exact names, i've just got the whole soundtrack, and this music is called "draculasbattle"

  • whats the name of the song @ the very beginning?

  • Anyone know the title of the the initial music that plays over the title screen from err, :01-:18?

  • its called "01-opening" on the soundtrack :) ive got it ;)

  • @Awesome1601 can u send me a link PLEASE?????

  • YOu've got a PM ;) Have fun

  • I LUV that BEAT at around 1:05-2:58; it is F*K'N SINISTER!

this opening music has stuck in my head for about 15 years now thats weird

    god i love youtube

  • I don't think we will ever see an old school castlevania like this ever again.

  • @Tabuu101 Too bad since a old school castlevania would be fun.

  • LOLZ! Didn't you two ever listen to Jazz when you were kids?

  • Kermit, my man. I thumbs up your comment, for victory.

  • and me for great justice

  • @jasonsgroovemachine Your so fucking retarded, SHUT UP!!!

  • @HunterOfTheNight100 Speaking of mamas. Tell yours I said hello.

  • I swear to god, I was scared of this music when I was a kid. I was afraid of putting the game in my SNES...
