@psychobomberninja if you think you have to get low, you are wrong. low is very bad!!! It makes you use your arms not your legs. its all in the legs and how well you are your Orbit. Basicly, I'm 5'9'' and i weigh 175 pounds on a good day, throwing record of disc is 161'1" shotput is 52'6" its all in the hips. And yes it is better to be big but do not think these guys do not eat breath and live throwing. They take years to throw this far.

Cantwell has a much better chance then Nelson, Nelson has to give it everything he has just to compete with these monsters. I like Nelson but he might have one more 22 metre throw in him but he will not come anywear near Barnes record.

@YB71KV you do know that Nelson can squat over 700lbs and incline bench 535lbs. People think he's weaker cause he is smaller, quite the contrary. I think when you have such high strength levels, speed becomes even more paramount and Nelson has the most explosive strength of the big three. His weakness is his technique and unpredictability which simultaneous is his strength.

Cantwell is a very large man who is trying to spin. most spinners are 6-4 and shorter on average. so using his legs would more than likely hurt his throws. but cantwell is the best at this time using what he has.

Its not all that likely Cantwell will ever break the world record. The spin is a great equalizer for shorter putters, but there are still 4 guys ahead of him who didn't spin and 3 guys who did. Of the spinners none were as tall as Cantwell and all were more athletic and didn't add a waistline girth problem to a height problem. If Cantwell ever sees 23 m, I'll be shocked. 22.54M may be it for him.

I agree because he has an amazing frame and is clearly one of the strongest throwers with a 630 bench press. I don't know what he squats but his legs are massive and if he just got lower and explode with both his chest and legs, he could really make a run at the record.
