I don't think this particular video captures the energy of the song especially well, I'll give you that. However, I've heard it live and it does 'sound' when you're there.

Moreover, I'll admit I was surprised when I first listened to the new album, because it was nearly unrecognizable. Yet, I'm really glad they DID decide to go in this new direction, because I think it surpasses their other work. Yeah Ghost is now one of my top 5 favorite albums ever, and Simple Things is only in my top 10!

Perhaps you two were hoping simply for "The Garden II: the Sequel"?

Obviously Yeah Ghost is a very different sound for the band, but that's their prerogative as artists. Heck, if all they cared about was pleasing their fans, they could have easily made their third album sound like Simple Things again, and the Garden never would have happened. When performers stop growing and changing their style, they become irrelevant as artists.

I agree, the nice shoes shouting is disgusting. Eventhough I never thought they could pull this song off live, I have to reconsider. They pulled it off perfectly. And for the Sia/Olivia debate, I think Sia is one of the best female singers of our time but I don't think Sia could've made this song like Olivia could.. I'm in love with how she sings opportunity btw.. the long drawn out way how she sings it is beautifull
