This actually was the precursor to some of JRC's super radios for the marine market like the NRD-92/93/94/95 series and NRD-301A/302. The 515 is built like a tank -- metal panel, real knobs for real people with real fingers -- it was the first SW radio that really came close to matching the flexibility of the tube classics like the Hammlarund 180 series in terms of tuning flexibility. One of the rarest accessories in the radio world now is the Keypad for the 515.
