yea they pushed out the blue collar workers the have a military style police dept (some i wouldnt trust with waterguns) 7to 10 thousand in property tax lost what real communties i blame the city council and there disreguard what the neighborhoods wanted ! wait until new yorkers vote you out then wonder wheres my job or my neighbors gone !
I am a life time resident as well for 30 years so far. When Bret Schundler's team removed the Tax grace period for home owners, alot of hardworking, honest and descent families lost thier homes. Our property taxes increased as well to pay off they cuts given to prestigous corporations which moved mainly to the dowtown harbor side. I like some of the things Bret did but the bottom line is when you have a republican party running an urban town or city that is at least 70% democrat it gets ugly.
