  • Copying is not Theft

  • You know, I would steal a car if it meant that by just touching the car it was mine, and the person who owned the car got to keep one, and every person I knew was stealing cars like that.

  • Fuck you! Sharing is caring.

  • Sure I would.

  • This, this thing is on every DVD? What an aweful piece of work :/

  • /care then im stealing, fucking arrest me, i dont give a rats ass :D

  • The soundtrack in this clip was actually "pirated" - Interstingly indulgent irony!

  • Cool story bro, needs more rainbows.

  • Ironically you get this shoved in your face only when you buy a genuine DVD.

  • 'You wouldnt steal a car?!?!'

'I would if i knew i wasnt gonna get caught!'

  • I don't think people would complain terribly much if a man came to your car, made an exact replicate of it without touching your car, and drove off in the copy.

  • I would TOTALLY download a car if I could. Admit it, you would too if you could.

  • I didn't think anything could actually make me like this ad, but here we are.

    The ironing is delicious!

  • The music in this ad is used without permission. It's kinda like stealing a car and then painting "DON'T STEAL CARS" on it...

  • I remember watching this before every movie from Blockbuster 10 years ago, it scared the shit out of me

  • They pirated music on the advert. It's a rip-off of "(The best part of) Breakin' Up" by The Chemical Brothers. Assholes. I rather steal a movie than music anyway. I've even visited a police station that has pirate dvds on their lounge TV.

  • @BringItBackITV "Netherlands composer Melchior Rietveldt composed that ominous techno tune for a local film festival after being asked by anti-piracy group BREIN, who are funded by Hollywood."

  • @hardXcoreminecraft His tune is very similar to The Chemical Brothers tune. Infact it's pretty much the same. It's just a tale of people ripping off each other. Though if it was a 1996 instrumental (which it isn't) then i'm sure the Chemicals had it first. I'm not saying Melchior ripped off the Chemical Brothers though, as he may of never head "The best part of breaking up".

  • You wouldn't make a lower quality duplicate of a duplicate of a car.

  • Congratulations for using pirated music for this ad.

  • "Piracy. It's a Crime." So is stealing music to use for an ad you dumbfucks.

    pedestrian.tv/entertainment/news/anti-piracy-movie-ads-caught-using-pirated-music/60075.htm

  • you know whats really funny? the music in this thing was copied without premision. yeah, anti-piracy psa illigaly using music.

  • No, murder is a crime.

  • You know what's the actual piracy here? The music is used without permission in this clip. Court ruled recently that Melchoir Rietveldt (the person who made the music clip) was not asked the permission, nor never gave permission to use his musical score.

  • and the song is being used without a permission

  • reminds me of the usual republican crap about family values etc. and then having their members caught cheating on their wife with prostitutes or some pathetic **** like that.

  • You wouldn´t steal Melchior Rietveldts music :D

  • Oh such delicious hypocrisy from these people, yet a wonderful "it's ok, sometimes you don't realise you're 'stealing' things" message from the fates. Or Jesus. Maybe Jesus is telling us something. God's Will and that.

Believe what you want, either way it's awesome.

  • i would upload a turd to these bigots

  • I hope they got their asses sued to seventh hell

  • hey i wouldnt steal a car but i would definitely download one once 3D printers become readily available.

  • HAAAA! Jokes on them they used pirated music to make this!! Don't believe me? Google it! Now pardon me while I steal some purses and a car...

  • HYPOCRITICAL CUNTS!!!!!!, the music in this is stolen!!!!

  • Uploader forgot the "not".

  • you wouldn't steal...correct, cause downloading isnt stealing :P

  • FACT: The song used in this video is being used without permission of the composer! Now THAT is hilarious! The say You wouldn't steal, but they did steal! :)

Just google: " Copyright Corruption Scandal Surrounds Anti-Piracy Campaign "

  • @Hemull I heard about that too these anti-piracy groups are full of shit, making a copy of legitimate software is not stealing.

  • it's funny 'cause I would

and also, stealing and piracy are different, with piracy, the thing is still there, so i'd be like if your car got stolen, and it was there in the morning, it hurts no one

  • @sammerthanyou It hurts Brad Pitt

  • The ironic thing is that you had to pirate this clip to put it on YouTube.

  • @brohaw211 Speaking of irony: pedestrian.tv/entertainment/news/anti-piracy-movie-ads-caught-using-pirated-music/60075.htm

  • @JaleSwiftpaw I don't want to live on this planet anymore. :3

  • Comment removed

  • @brohaw211 No, the ironic thing is that the song was illegally used. Not kidding, search for it. I wonder how much money the composer is going to make now it's on every freaking dvd on this planet. 50 whole seconds of hypocrisy

  • Yeah, but I won't get thrown in jail for downloading pirated films...

  • YOU WOULDN'T DOWNLOAD A CAR

Fuck you, I'm building my own kit car and I'm going to seed it 24/7.

  • I would steal these things.

  • Lol, The downloads don't go THAT quickly. ;)

  • you wouldn't download a pizza...

  • If it was possible to download cars I would be downloading them all fucking day. I wouldnt even seed.

  • theft steals the original

    piracy makes a copy

    sharing is illegal.

  • Who says i wouldn't steal any of this stuff..........

    They don't know me.... >:)

  • I actually downloaded a car! watch?v=n2-gWVkWWSY

  • you wouldnt download a car FVCK YOU I WOULD IF I COULD

  • you wouldnt purchase a dvd that had stuff like thi on it that was unskippable

  • Fuck you, I would if I could.

  • a DVD is a small plastic disc

    DVD =/= films

  • I'd rather shoot a policeman, steal his helmet, shit in it, send it to his grieving widow, and then steal it again.

  • Than girl has a really fast internet connection. Downloading a freaking movie under 3 SECONDS!!!

  • It's ridiculous that I can't even lent my friends some of my CDs because it's considered "piracy" by the music industry...but I do it anyway :p

  • "Downloading pirated films is stealing."

I'm just borrowing a copy of it.

  • Screw you, I'd do all those things

  • It isn't stealing.. It's making a copy. The video acts like if you download a movie, than everyone else that had the movie get's theirs taken away.

This video is retarded in every way.

    P.S. - I would download a pizza if I could.

  • i would download a car if the owner got to keep the car

  • Yeah that's right kid, click that big, bright red 'Cancel' button and get your ass to school! AMURICUH

  • You wouldn't download a BEAR!

  • YOU WOULDN'T DOWNLOAD AN .iso OF A FILM.

    This ad is pointless.

    It's annoying as fuck.

And pirates download the .AVI so it doesn't even matter.

  • This is immoral.

  • Who says i wouldn't do those things, hmm?

  • You dumbass, its: You wouldn't download a car.

  • Downloading recordings is copying, not stealing. Stealing is when media companies play music on the radio to get us hooked, and advertise films with teaser commercials, then want unfair amounts for us to enjoy it. They used to sell us LPs & tapes just to get one song we liked, and that was the crime. The industry failed to charge a reasonable price for downloading, so I guess that it's payback time. The chickens are coming home to roost.

  • I dont give a shit, Piracy is the best thing, cheap and easy

  • Actually, yes, I most definitely would steal a car, a handbag, AND a television

  • Is it stealing, then, when a filmmaker produces garbage (insert any Uwe Boll or Eli Roth title here) and still knowingly takes unsuspecting consumers' money for it? Not saying pirating movies is right. Just saying it goes both ways...

  • Nigga, act like i wouldn't download a car.

  • Don't copy that floppy.

  • you wouldn't accidentally a whole coke bottle

  • What if it's overpriced though??

  • ok i wont do any of that.....but ill download a car!!!

  • The white man trying to keep me from stealing?!! Fuck the white man, and his books!! All that shit!!!

  • This is an epic commercial but the philosophy behind it is incorrect.

  • Hell, I'd download a space shuttle if I could.

  • I'd download a car if I could.

  • Even if we(at least I) didn't pay tax, but they still did, we'd still be super poor compared to them.

  • Even if we(at least I) didn't pay tax, but they still did we'd still be super poor compared to them.

  • Imagine someone stole your car, but it's still there in the morning, that's what piracy is.

  • Fuck I'd download a truck if I could.

  • i realy dont giva shit

  • If i could i would download a fucking car :D

  • It's not stealing its sharing, for example if your friend had a couple of songs that you really liked so he sent you them over msn, would you call that theft?

  • And the money that multinationals are targeting people, this is not theft?

  • You wouldn't download a car.

  • @NotSoViolentToy The day technology makes it possible, will

  • this ad makes me laugh everytime i see it !!!

how can you compare downloading with real stealing?

  • When you steal non-intellectual property, the owner doesn't have it anymore. Your logic is wrong, your allegoration is wrong, your metaphors are wrong. Pirated intellectual property is simply copied.

Imagine someone using MAGIC to make a copy of your car or handbag or tv, and walk away with the clone. Make a video of it, now you got it right.

  • nicely said

  • @Sorgutentarer that argument is pure semantics. In the end it does not matter whether a product is physical or non physical: money and effort went into creating that product. when you pirate something you would have otherwise paid for that is money out of the developers pocket.

  • @Sorgutentarer If a movie was in disc form which costs $1 to manefacture and you stole that would you call taking it stealing because it is now 'physical' which lends enormous weight to its value supposedly. The whole intellectual property debate hinges itself on the economic law of supply and demand which pirates like yourself throw out of balance. It is not about 'copying' in any sense at all.

  • @Sorgutentarer now I do pirate don't get me wrong. When there is a movie or game I am little more than indifferent about, where I don;t care enough about supporting the developers / business's because that product is not one i care too much about. but you see the difference between you and me is I hold no delusions that what I am doing is right.

  • @Sorgutentarer unfortunately, while the original still exists, it doesn't change the fact that the producers are not getting the money for their product. people are still getting goods without paying for it on a large scale, and in turn, the production is not receiving the revenues for their product.

so it s only not like literal theft in the most superficial sense.

  • @Exarian I do believe though that companies claim more lost profits than there actually are. Not everyone that downloads something would have ever paid for it to begin with. Either they're just too damn broke or not interested enough to warrant shelling out cash for it.

If I actually had money I'd pay for more things but since I don't, the things I download don't technically count as lost revenue since I would have never paid to begin with. Even if I couldn't get it for free.

  • @jorceshaman that doesn't change the fact that someone is recieving goods that were meant to be paid for without paying for it. Regardless of motive or circumstance, there is still an uneven transaction going on, hard work is still being made off with, and laws are still being broken.

if you're gonna pirate, don't try to BS yourself some justification.

  • @Exarian I'm not BSing anyone. I didn't say it wasn't wrong, I said that they report more lost revenues than actually are lost.

  • @jorceshaman I'm just saying that you;re trying to change the subject away from the fact that you are recieving a product that is supposed to have a cost without paying for it, and how wrong that act is.

I'm not being judgmental about the concept mind you, I've done my fair share of pirating myself. I'm just not about to convince myself there is any justification for it.

  • @Exarian What I just obtained from that last post is that you're basically a hypocrite lecturing me on piracy when you do it yourself. I'm done here.

  • @jorceshaman you misunderstood me. I'm not saying don't do it. I'm saying don't fool yourself.

I'm saying "it is a very bad thing to do that I also do from time to time, and it is pointless to try to justify it."

  • @Exarian do you think any of the people who pirate things would magically decide to become paying customers just if they couldnt download it? maybe some of the time, but generally they'd just find something else to do or download something else. pirates and paying customers are entirely different demographics. the paying customers will always pay, and pirates will always pirate. hardly any money is lost. and you arent really stealing something because its just a copy

  • @Exarian are you stealing when you borrow dvd's and cd's from a friend? no. piracy is wrong when you download and sell it for profit, but borrowing movies online is not a big deal. get over it. im not saying its the right thing to do, but its not the wrong thing to do. its just something to do.

  • @sansdeity420 well that depends, when you borrow a DVD from a friend, the friend is unable to use the files at the time you have it, and when you give it back, you are unable to use the files.

  • fuck that, spend heaps of money, and to do what? stop the 8 year old from downloading an episode of the simpsons. haha "its not illeagal its just frowned apon like masterbating on a aeroplane"

  • This is ridiculous. If you steal a car then you will deprive someone else of that car. If you download a movie on the other hand, who is deprived of the movie?? No one. Millions of dollars spent on fights against piracy and that's the best they can come up with?? A deeply flawed advert......

  • I would so totally download a car

  • Stupid advert, if stealing a car was as easy people would.

  • This makes me proud of not being english.

  • For sure their jobs aren't harder than jobs people don't get rich of!

  • They're already too rich.

  • Stealing is taking something away from the owner!

  • I'd totally do all that shit.

  • When 3D printers become mainstream (google them) you probably COULD download a car!

  • 3d printers are for rapid prototyping, they produce non functional flimsy models only.

  • @Nyohttekotte

  • lol posted on my birthday.

    PIRACY IS FUN!

  • that's a cool story

  • bro

  • I pirate all day niggaz

  • OHHHHHHHH THE IRONY of this video, and yet piracy is on youtube :)

  • Data by An Anti-priacy group reveals that over 25% of the people who've been warned of possible Fines due to copyright violations pay up without a word. As many of you might already know the Fines are Excessively high. why? Supposedly it goes to cover tech costs and pay the copyright holder. Well...Consider this. A single DVD can cost 20 bucks. A person can get sued for 600$. Lets say 80% goes to company and 20% to CR holder, that's $480 for AntiPriacy and 120$ for CP holder. 600% profit.
