  • @ FantasticBabblings Thanks for posting this video I had no idea New York had this & I've lived here my whole life..crazy right? Does it cost to get on the tramway?

  • Excellent!

  • I love the editing and feel of this

  • I so enjoyed this visit to your corner of the world. Is the tramway only in Manhattan, or does it go to other burroughs?

  • Great job!

  • You make the best videos! I live in a rural town and it's fascinating to sit here and eat my lunch while watching this entirely different world.

  • That looks like so much fun! Thanks for sharing Phil!

  • Very Impressive work, well done!!

  • Well done!

  • Very Nice, thanks. I am getting to see some of New York thru your videos. Never been there and probably won't really. It would be really cool if people would upload some vids of their cities and the sights so we see some new places!

  • Wow what a way to travel...Thanks for posting. I had no idea there was something like that here in the US...

  • Wow Phil, this was terrific! The first I'd ever heard of the tram was this week and the TV footage did not hold a candle to yours - either in quality of the images or the beauty of the editing. Well done!!

  • New York... the city of very clean windows. :D Nice relaxing video, thanks Phil. :)

  • Nicely done Phil. I didn't know that existed :)

  • @hollytoo Thanks for watching.

  • Is this original Phil music? I like the upright bass and clarinet on the away trip, but I really enjoyed the soundscape you painted on the way back. It affectingly changed my mood to something much more serene than the chaotic feelings I normally get while looking at urban imagery. Well done!

  • @GCNC72 Yes, it is indeed original music. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I like writing soundscapes. If I can find the right visual setting I would like to do a whole video to a soundscape.

  • @FantasticBabblings If you find your way to the south in the summer months. You should spend a day or two capturing video off of The Blue Ridge Parkway from Asheville going north towards Grandfather Mountain. The imagery up there is very good material for soundscapes. I usually find myself taking that ride at least once per year.

  • Superb!

  • @editorgay Thanks so much.

  • Love this Phil. You have a great eye for documenting NY life. look PM over "there' x

  • @LeSaMilano As I get healthier and get my energy back I am getting out more and shooting a lot. For the last few years it seems I only see the city through a camera lens.

  • Nice editing job. My only suggestion would have been to edit out the annoying children sounds.... but that's just me.

  • @RDJim If only I could edit out the children and not just their sounds. That's the burden of being a working man. If I were a man of leisure I could have shot this on a week day and the tram would be practically empty.

  • Very interesting... I never heard of Roosevelt Island until seeing this video! Great video.

  • @fehquig I had never heard of it until I moved to NY. It's just a small sliver of land. The southern tip has the ruins of an old insane asylum, but it is being torn down for development.

  • Great Channel - I sub back your Pal Johnny Warrent

  • @TheJohnnywarrent Thanks.

  • 1:43 "no standing anytime".

    You law breaker you.lol.

  • @Jakonstan I know what you mean. When I first came to NY and saw the No Standing signs I had no idea what they meant.

  • ♥♥♥♥♥ Awesome

  • @blazintommyd1 Thank you awesomely.

  • Very Interesting!! I have got to get to NYC while I can still get around!

  • @yescandles There is so much to see. I wish I had more time to get out and take it all in. I've been here 33 years and still find surprises.

  • That was a great wee film. Nice edits. I never knew the tramway existed. Looks like fun. If you ever need some custom made music for your films please let me know.

  • @periurban Thanks. I may take you up on the music offer.

  • I like the Jazzy music in the background. :)

  • @canucks117 Thanks. New York needs a little syncopation.

  • Amazing production. This is cut together very effectively and professionally.

  • @lazlo5149 Thanks. I had fun editing this one.

  • This beautiful film must have taken quite a while to produce.

It makes me want to visit, while thoughts of moving there dance in my head.

  • @freitasex Surprisingly it came together pretty quickly. I storyboarded it in my head so I was able to shoot it in about three hours. I had already pretty much edited it in my head, so that went pretty quickly. The music probably took the longest time. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

  • @FantasticBabblings

Well Phil, 3 hours is quite a while.

I am sure that you do not remember, but probably 3 years ago I told you something.

You remind me so very much of my best friend ever.

He is not with us anymore as he passed with acquired immune syndrome complications.

This is (to me) a compliment to you.

He was so eloquent in his speech, telling a person off, but then leaving them impressed.

He taught me so much... I just so highly admire you Phil.

You just have the eloquent touch.
