Well done!!! That is one of the coolest RC planes ever. The landing gear is top notch. Great craftmanship. I cannot believe two twats didn't like the video for what its worth.
Very well done. I worked C-5's for several years and the landing gear is the most troublesome part. If you ever see a C-5 close up you will see that the jacking points are mounted on there permanently. Too bad your flies fast like a fighter and not "I think i can I think I can" like a fat Fred. But you made an excellent model.
So she scales to 223 tonnes, which is right about in the middle of the operating range for the C5 I think. Pretty neat. I suppose she flies a lot slower than mach .78 though--I wonder how speed scales with models....it isn't like scaling a yacht model, with the wave speed...
@Gradivarius That is fantastic. And in less than one man-year! Very impressive. It even sounds like the big ones :-)
Since you designed it yourself, how much info did you have of the full size to start with? Did you have to modify the wing sections for your scale plane? What is the scale takeof weight compared to a full-size?
@Gradivarius That is REALLY cool. Which means you do real aeronautical design--other than the look being right from photos, you really scratch designed and built this plane. Fantastic.
Echt super leuk en mooi filmpie. Ziet er top uit! Met die setup had ik mijn boeing ook zo kunnen laten vliegen. Maar ja die is niet zo mooi als de C-5 van jullie.
I have always liked the workings/operation of undercarriages. Why? Don't know, just do! But, the view of your model's C5 undercarriage from the onboard camera was fascinating. Congratulations - pretty damn good.

@vibratingstring hello, the wing profile is "Epler-195" and the takeoff weight is 14.3 Kg.
I made my own drawings from a 3 view drawing and a lot of photo's from the internet.
The total build time (resurge, disigne, drawing, building and finishing) was 1700 hours
in 3.5 years, the maiden flight was begin march 2011 and up to now i made 38 sucesful
lights of an average of 6 minutes.
