OK - I followed this and couldn't reboot afterwards (hung at "starting NFS common utilities").

Had to edit /etc/network/interfaces to look like this:

to look like this (change addresses and 'eth0' to your nvalues)

auto lo

iface lo inet loopback

iface eth0 inet static

address 192.168.1.100

netmask 255.255.255.0

gateway 192.168.1.1

So if I'm hosting an apache2 webserver and I configure my IP to 192.168.0.15 or something, how will a computer from a different ISP be able to recognize that that's not the 192.168.0.15 on their local network instead of my server on the web?

Maybe it's stupid question, sorry.
