  • OK - I followed this and couldn't reboot afterwards (hung at "starting NFS common utilities").

    Had to edit /etc/network/interfaces to look like this:

    to look like this (change addresses and 'eth0' to your nvalues)

    auto lo

    iface lo inet loopback

    iface eth0 inet static

    address 192.168.1.100

    netmask 255.255.255.0

    gateway 192.168.1.1

  • So if I'm hosting an apache2 webserver and I configure my IP to 192.168.0.15 or something, how will a computer from a different ISP be able to recognize that that's not the 192.168.0.15 on their local network instead of my server on the web?

    Maybe it's stupid question, sorry.
