@goonodeath and you're listening to what the world's telling you. Based on my experiences and feelings, I can easily believe that God exists. So does the devil. Satan is why we have evil in this world. Don't ask me for all the answers; I don't have them- but neither do you. Have you ever stopped to consider you were wrong?
P.S.- The next time you're in an argument, I would recommend not swearing. It's hard to take you seriously. Just a suggestion.
This is really cool! I like it! And to the guy who commented on the Job story...Job lived an upright life before God and his affliction wasn't about God winning a bet. It was about God proving once again his power and that Job was a true follower who depended on God even in his times of deep suffering when his wealth, health,& family was taken from him. Because he was faithful, God renewed all of this to him in the end, proving that God uses the faithful for his glory even when we can't see it.

I find it ironic that those lines follow each other. God having a competition with Satan and torturing someone just to prove a point to win a bet with Satan. You call this grace?
Oh, but he doubled his money and belongings! Wait, didn't his entire family get killed in the exchange? Good lesson from the Bible kids - Money is more important than family.
So he replaced his old family with twice as many new people? Didn't Job love his original family? Or did he like his new wife(s) and kids better?
Would you consider it a reward if God used you in a bet like this, and your entire family died, but you would get a new, bigger family later?
I'm sorry, but there is no way to justify this. It is one of the most disgusting stories in the Bible. No one in their right mind should even try to justify it.
@theTRUTHgroup Actually I think anyone with a brain is smarter than god. I would never kill everyone on earth or tell people to stone disobedient children.
@goonodeath So, you're saying that if you created something (say a robot) to clean your house and all it did was make it dirtier and ruin all of your stuff you would keep it around? God created human's and they completely turned against him! As the creator he had every right to destroy them in the flood. And, he did it to give mankind as a whole a second chance....btw..the failed AGAIN and continue to yet he continued to show mercy when he sent his son to DIE for YOU!
@princessbilliot But aren't we created in this god's image? If we as a race are defective, he's the one who made a mistake. The robot analogy shows this perfectly. If you were to make this robot, and it went out, destroyed the town, and killed people, you as it's creator would be accountable, and you'd be the one to receive the punishment, not the robot.
@GenghisKrahn Yes we are created in his image, but he also gave us free will. He gave us the choice to follow him or not. He wouldn't be a loving God if he forced us to do his will. Out of love he gave us a choice. He made no mistake, Adam and Eve did.
He doesn't exist (obviously...what are you fucking 5?), but if he did he is a complete fucking prick. The only reason you are able to do these mental gymnastics is you are listening to what your preacher tells you.
God never meant for our small minds to grasp His plan. While Im sure youre being more antagonistic than truly asking, Ill put my two cents in anyway. Why it may be hard for you to understand, lots of believers rely on the story of Job to give them comfort and hope. As someone who has lost much and been through more than I care to share on youtube I personally find it a great source of hope. While you were wrong and Job did not lose his wife he did however lose his sons and daughters.
While he was given twice the offspring as before, it of course wouldnt make up for the children he lost (although as anyone who has lost a child can tell you those who have other kids it is what helps them keep moving and living when they want to do the opposite. They are a source of blessing and comfort) But that wasnt the point. Job would have to wait to see his kids until he met them face to face on the other side. The point is that even though Job didnt get his kids back while on earth.
he got his God back. He lamented and struggled and cried out for God to show up but when He did show up Job realized he was unworthy to have even asked the question. He came through with a stronger relationship with God. That is my hope and prayer that at the end of these trials God will show His face to me and I will walk away with a stronger relationship with him. As Michael Card says true worship begins in the wilderness.
I understand people using Job to cope, and I know that it's nice to feel there's some divine reason for all the bad things that happen to you. But unfortunately that doesn't make it a true, or just story.
It supports the idea that God meddles in our lives, and sets things up to happen, good or bad. But aren't we supposed to have free will? Sure, we "have a choice" but of the choices are, follow me or die, I see that as more of a threat. And in this story, Job's getting an even rawer deal.
@GenghisKrahn Follow me or die is not a threat. It's a choice. That is your free will. God does not make you obey him. If you choose to blaspheme him and deny him then, yes, you go to Hell. But you don't have to, so you cannot blame it on him. The hard times in life are meant to make you stronger and draw you to God, so once again, it's your choice as to what you will do.
@princessbilliot Well, if I were to say to you "Do what I say, or die" I may be technically giving you a choice, but it's not a fair choice, and you're not really letting the person excersize their free will. Why give someone free will if you're going to punish them for using it?
Beyond that, if anyone is to 'blame' for the tortures of hell, it would be the god, since I'm sure you believe he created it, and the rules that send people there.
@GenghisKrahn You moron...Job was a great man to realize that no matter how much money, land or food satan temps you with you must stay faithful to God, surely this man was lead to Heaven when Jesus decidended into hell after being crucified
Dave, I can name that tune in 39 books... I kept waiting for it to end with something like, "you can read them any time you'd like but you should never leave." (them)
Awesome!
