I haven't played gt5 but forza's graphics are incredible, you can hear the unique roar of every engine, and the physics are amazing. It has a crapload of stuff to do and a ton of cars to drive. It's even managed to put kinect in for headtracking and autovista. Definitely the best racing game ive ever seen.
Gran Turismo 5 nor Forza Motorsport 3 didn't win...Forza Motorsport 4 = Win and no i'm not a fanboy, i played Gran Turismo when i was in diapers, meaning Gran Turismo is my most favorite racing franchise but i got to a point where i'm just sick of Gran Turismo, i mean i waited 5 years for gran turismo 5 and it turned out to be rough around the edges, i just started playing Forza and it's fucking amazing, now before you troll on me, go troll on someone you posers
@tonyinthe602 I'm in the same boat. Not to mention, the AUDIO in GT5 is terrible. all the cars sound the same more or less, and all the cars sound like fake, generic go-karts/hondas. I like how in Forza the upgrades are mocking real name brand parts vs. the generic upgrades in GT (for example, low, mid and high range turbo kits in GT5 vs. actual name brand parts like Greddy FMIC kit, etc.)
I have extensively played GT5 and Forza 3, and I am a GT5 Fan. But I give credit where credit is due, and to be honest, both games have got their respective strong and weak points. In my opinion, GT5 is Tops with Graphics and Realism, but Forza 3 is Tops with Sound Effects, as you can hear the dump valve on turbo cars and Forza 3 is Tops with a Wider Selection of Make of Cars you can buy and obtain. Like for instance, Forza 3 has got the Astra and Corsa OPC's which GT5 doesn't have.
in gt5 is not just a simulator it goes into different racing sports nascar rally you are learning of listening to the men behind the wheel in real life racing its interwievs with sebastian vettel, sebastian loeb, jeff gordon and its a long texst to each car i have never really tryed forza probpaly but gt5 shows more of racing then what i have seen of forza you can event cange the suspension differantials gravity point i dont say its best but this is what i see. and you made guys just shut up ok?

I own both, but i like Forza more because its very good balance between sim and fun. GT5 is bit more realistic and better looking but not as much fun.
I look gameplay over graphics. Both have good graphs and you can see good enough the track and the other cars, that's good enough for me. On gameplay is a different story. Although Im still very pissed that GT5 haven't put brakes upgrades I like the fact that it has Formula cars and karts. On the other hand, the max sensation of driving you can get in Forza4 is Prototypes, which are good, but not in comparation to a Formula 1.Other than that I would say that the one with the most real traks wins
@stupidplants Sorry, but 3/4ths of GT5's cars are low res PS2 quality. That's 75 percent. That's a LOT. When I have my choice between having 100% of my cars look consistently awesome, or have 3/4ths of my cars look ugly, and 1/4th my cars look amazing. Guess which one i'm going to pick.
PS3 fanboys think that because Forza 4's difficulty can be scaled back to an arcade level of approachability, that its not a sim. When you turn off all the assists. No ABS, traction control, stability control, full manual trans, its just as much a simulator as GT5. People who want a true sim experience want a useable clutch, which GT5 doesnt have, and cockpit views, which most of the cars in GT5 are missing.

@stupidplants That's all you guys got after a year that the games been out? Turn 10 puts out a DLC pack every month. GT5 still has twenty Honda S2000's and 14 Ferraris. But the standard models are so ugly I guess it doesnt matter. They need better online modes, more community features, rewind function, liveries, and no ps2 quality standard cars if they want to be #1 like they used to be.

@stupidplants Those videos are comparing GT5 engine sounds to real life, not to FM4, so thats irrelevant. I didnt see an option to tweak individual gears. Is it available for ALL cars on STOCK transmissions? We can argue forever about why either game is better, but the Metacritic scores say all that needs to be said, and means more than 2 peoples opinion. I play whats best. If Polyphony gets their shit together, and makes a better game, i'll be playing GT again. Till then, it stays on the shelf.
@paskapers3 Fantec makes a wheel thats got a clutch pedal that works with FM4, its expensive though. I wouldnt use it though, because using a physical clutch pedal is nowhere near as fast as shifting on the gamepad, and I play competitively on online races, rivals mode, and for leaderboard times. The immersion you get with a wheel is awesome though. But none of the top times are achieved using a wheel.
@blastofo Well G27 or G25 give you a glutch to GT5. And I guess the people who want a good simulation experience have got one of those, or some other steering wheel with glutch.
@blastofo incorrect! it DOES have clutch, you just have to get a steering wheel with clutch, like fanatec porsche wheels or logitech g series... Unless you have a steering wheel it doesn't matter how good the game is, cause you still can't simulate real driving...
@blastofo Real sim fans use hood cam to avoid ''double steering wheel view'', also, I dunno where you get your info, but GT5 supports glutch. Also I don't think that sim fans want ''rewind'' feature in the game :P
@FiveFatMonkeys In Forza, if you select a fully manual transmission, you have to hold down the clutch button (which is Y) before you shift up, down, or launch off the line. This allows you to rev match, and control your torque. If you drove a manual car in real life, you would understand. A manual trans without a clutch isnt a real manual trans, sorry GT5.

Forza 4 has a way better selection of cars. GT5 is mostly honda/nissan/mazda/toyota. Heavy biased towards japanese cars since they are a japanese company. Forza 4's selection is way more diverse and well balanced. More european, american, and boutique manufacturers. GT5 boasts like 600 cars, but more than half of those are variations. I think I counted twenty S2000's. Talk about overkill.
defects found in GT5. 1 - dust, when the car out of the track, disappearing very fast. 2 - I do not see people in the environment. all standing, motionless. 3-the video is dark. FORZA looks more alive. 4 - your AI is weak. forza AI is better. GT5 for luck, it contains more cars and resources. if forza had, GT5 lose.

3)graphically they work with a less powerful machine but is very similar to PS3/GT5..
4)forza put equal value on each car and made each car as beautifully as they possibly could. (fun fact: forza 3 car polygon count-400,000. GT5 car polygon count-500,000. Forza 4 polygon count-1,000,000.)
5)i loved that GT5 had the top gear track but come on....did they really have to limit the use of it that severely?
from a personal aspect, get whatever feels best. from a technical aspect, i believe forza takes the cake.

Forza has only a single trump over Gran Turismo card as I find that pros counteract the rival's cons.
GT5 offers some pretty technical handling, but does not offer damage until Level 30 or something. FM3 beats this by offering a true simulator experience as it you can do anything and everything out of the box simulation-wise.
I have GT1, GT2, GT3, GT Concept Tokyo - Geneva, GT4 and GT5, (yes, I'm a dedicated fan), bought GT5 the day it came out and what a load of rubbish considering the wait. Around 700 PS2 quality cars and PS2 tracks (textures wise) and load times so long I feel myself ageing. Customising cars was a joke, unlocking paint and then having to pay for it and no wheels for PS2 cars... I was bought Forza 3 as a present and I'm more than happy.

I also love the GT series but i have to agree with you, how short changed were we in getting a few premium cars, loadsa same tracks, im getting bored with autumn ring, loadsa standard cars - as you say ps2 cars, id rather drop the useless b spec and all the crappy diahatsu moves etc and get a good stable of premium cars on some decent new tracks. and we waited half a decade for it - gt6 better be good or im finished

grand turismo is what started me with racing games, but i have an xbox now and forza, and love playing it. theyr'e both great games and thats why they make so much money.
ive played both and gt5s graphics are way better and the raceing is way better forza sucks the bugatti is the best car and it hardly bracks 200 the red bull x1 almost bracks 300 mph and the b spec mode is awsome. so what is you can rewind in forza you dont need to if you dont suck and psn dosnt lag like xbox live dose over all gt5 and the ps3 kick forzas and xboxs ass.
GT5 physics + FM3 graphics would = win... own and enjoy both, but when either of them catches up to each other's strength, we'll have a really killer driving sim.

Project Gotham Racing is still better. It´s not about how fast you drive. It´s about how you drive fast. Driver's Talent > Cars. There is no racing game out there that hold up that ideals. On any console or PC.

Both games are hated because they're both console exclusives. As soon as a good racing game comes out for BOTH consoles, the dispute between GT and FM will easily be answered. Also, I couldn't care less about graphics because my TV sucks anyway.

GT5 have glamour, it has huuuge ambience, great music, a lot of original REAL WORLD tracks, over 1k cars with unique Force Feedback, GT TV and much more... Options are just enormous...

@ArloMusic those arent NFS tracks, Fujimi Kaido was a track from the very first Forza and you obviously dont appreciate mountain pass driving but i dont really mind, just trying to point that out ;P and i own both games, GT5 has better physics (except for the crashing physics like seriously, i can shave up to 7 seconds off my lap time of Tokyoroute 246riding along the guard rails)but the menu is horrid and the graphics have problems and the AI could bebetter,overall i findForza hasbettergameplay
I have both the XBox and PS3. I have Forza 2/3, and I have GT-4, Prologue, GT-PSP, and GT-5. I think that each title has its strong and weak points. One does this better while the other does that better. I think they're both great racing titles.., and it's shocking to see the number of bullshit posts by individuals who respond that have only played ONE of these and not the other. They're both good, and they both have a strong fan base.
my verdict on gt5 vs. forza 3 is, GFX, based on the premium cars on GT5, GT5, those premiums look amazing, simulation: GT5, sound: Forza, approachability: Forza, Customization: Forza, so in my opinion, and nothing to you gt fans, but i prefer forza, it has more of a fun factor to it, but i suggest if you want a serious racing sim, to get gt5 :)
Anyone know what steering wheel support there is for Forza, I have only played it with the controller, but I have the full wheel rig for GT5. Would really like to compare the games for the simulator value in a sim setting. Playing with a controller makes it hard to make a case for a great sim.

I look gameplay over graphics. Both have good graphs and you can see good enough the track and the other cars, that's good enough for me. On gameplay is a different story. Although Im still very pissed that GT5 haven't put brakes upgrades I like the fact that it has Formula cars and karts. On the other hand, the max sensation of driving you can get in Forza4 is Prototypes, which are good, but not in comparation to a Formula 1.Other than that I would say that the one with the most real traks wins

@stupidplants Sorry, but 3/4ths of GT5's cars are low res PS2 quality. That's 75 percent. That's a LOT. When I have my choice between having 100% of my cars look consistently awesome, or have 3/4ths of my cars look ugly, and 1/4th my cars look amazing. Guess which one i'm going to pick.

PS3 fanboys think that because Forza 4's difficulty can be scaled back to an arcade level of approachability, that its not a sim. When you turn off all the assists. No ABS, traction control, stability control, full manual trans, its just as much a simulator as GT5. People who want a true sim experience want a useable clutch, which GT5 doesnt have, and cockpit views, which most of the cars in GT5 are missing.

@stupidplants That's all you guys got after a year that the games been out? Turn 10 puts out a DLC pack every month. GT5 still has twenty Honda S2000's and 14 Ferraris. But the standard models are so ugly I guess it doesnt matter. They need better online modes, more community features, rewind function, liveries, and no ps2 quality standard cars if they want to be #1 like they used to be.

@stupidplants Those videos are comparing GT5 engine sounds to real life, not to FM4, so thats irrelevant. I didnt see an option to tweak individual gears. Is it available for ALL cars on STOCK transmissions? We can argue forever about why either game is better, but the Metacritic scores say all that needs to be said, and means more than 2 peoples opinion. I play whats best. If Polyphony gets their shit together, and makes a better game, i'll be playing GT again. Till then, it stays on the shelf.

@paskapers3 Fantec makes a wheel thats got a clutch pedal that works with FM4, its expensive though. I wouldnt use it though, because using a physical clutch pedal is nowhere near as fast as shifting on the gamepad, and I play competitively on online races, rivals mode, and for leaderboard times. The immersion you get with a wheel is awesome though. But none of the top times are achieved using a wheel.

@FiveFatMonkeys In Forza, if you select a fully manual transmission, you have to hold down the clutch button (which is Y) before you shift up, down, or launch off the line. This allows you to rev match, and control your torque. If you drove a manual car in real life, you would understand. A manual trans without a clutch isnt a real manual trans, sorry GT5.

Forza 4 has a way better selection of cars. GT5 is mostly honda/nissan/mazda/toyota. Heavy biased towards japanese cars since they are a japanese company. Forza 4's selection is way more diverse and well balanced. More european, american, and boutique manufacturers. GT5 boasts like 600 cars, but more than half of those are variations. I think I counted twenty S2000's. Talk about overkill.

defects found in GT5. 1 - dust, when the car out of the track, disappearing very fast. 2 - I do not see people in the environment. all standing, motionless. 3-the video is dark. FORZA looks more alive. 4 - your AI is weak. forza AI is better. GT5 for luck, it contains more cars and resources. if forza had, GT5 lose.

Lets leave out the personal subjective preferences, and lets talk about UNDENIABLE FACTS.
1) Gran Turismo series are the first, the original. Forza series is just a rip-off.
2) Gran Turismo developers have much much more experience on it.
3) All Gran Turismo games have been a massive success with an incredible amount of sales
4) Gran Turismo 2 (a game from 1998) has MANY more cars than Forza 3.

Forza has only a single trump over Gran Turismo card as I find that pros counteract the rival's cons.
GT5 offers some pretty technical handling, but does not offer damage until Level 30 or something. FM3 beats this by offering a true simulator experience as it you can do anything and everything out of the box simulation-wise.

I have GT1, GT2, GT3, GT Concept Tokyo - Geneva, GT4 and GT5, (yes, I'm a dedicated fan), bought GT5 the day it came out and what a load of rubbish considering the wait. Around 700 PS2 quality cars and PS2 tracks (textures wise) and load times so long I feel myself ageing. Customising cars was a joke, unlocking paint and then having to pay for it and no wheels for PS2 cars... I was bought Forza 3 as a present and I'm more than happy.

I actually really liked them both, I really don't care which is better, PS3=GT5, X360=F3, dead simple, if you have both consoles, then just buy the one you like, I bought GT5, and it's awesome.

I'm gonna say GT5 Is beter than forza 3.....A LOT! 1. the driving....in forza the handling of the car just fels like a arcade driving game.....not that im saying that it sucks but all im saying is that forza is not even close to GT5 when it comes to driving. 2. graphics....for graphics I cant say that one is beter than other because GT5 has great details on cars and you can se more of the interior in the driver's view......but forza has beter damage efects and alll cars have interior view =)

FORZA I personally think have played both forza has beautful graphics while gt5 have really good graphics enough to statisfy the people who haven't played forza while gt5 has better cars their rally cross stinks their nascar doesn't even resemble real nascar no cautions, or even crash damage I like to believe it is all or nothing they gave us nothing gt5 made nascar look bad really bad if you are getting ps3 for gt5 screw it get forza you will never regret it

Forza, Forza,Forza. I have both games and I believe Forza looks 10 times better and plays a lot smoother. GT5 is fun but yet to me there is no comparison for which one is better. With out a doubt it's Forza.

Ive played both games. Forza 4 really nice graphics I must say but in comparison looks like gt5 lets be honest. BUT.
Forza didnt caught me at all. It has a lot of that shitty NFS's tracks (mountains etc.) for me its more arcade racing...
GT5 have glamour, it has huuuge ambience, great music, a lot of original REAL WORLD tracks, over 1k cars with unique Force Feedback, GT TV and much more... Options are just enormous...
6 years of development say all. You can't just jump it over, even M$...

@ArloMusic those arent NFS tracks, Fujimi Kaido was a track from the very first Forza and you obviously dont appreciate mountain pass driving but i dont really mind, just trying to point that out ;P and i own both games, GT5 has better physics (except for the crashing physics like seriously, i can shave up to 7 seconds off my lap time of Tokyoroute 246riding along the guard rails)but the menu is horrid and the graphics have problems and the AI could bebetter,overall i findForza hasbettergameplay

I have both the XBox and PS3. I have Forza 2/3, and I have GT-4, Prologue, GT-PSP, and GT-5. I think that each title has its strong and weak points. One does this better while the other does that better. I think they're both great racing titles.., and it's shocking to see the number of bullshit posts by individuals who respond that have only played ONE of these and not the other. They're both good, and they both have a strong fan base.

my verdict on gt5 vs. forza 3 is, GFX, based on the premium cars on GT5, GT5, those premiums look amazing, simulation: GT5, sound: Forza, approachability: Forza, Customization: Forza, so in my opinion, and nothing to you gt fans, but i prefer forza, it has more of a fun factor to it, but i suggest if you want a serious racing sim, to get gt5 :)

Anyone know what steering wheel support there is for Forza, I have only played it with the controller, but I have the full wheel rig for GT5. Would really like to compare the games for the simulator value in a sim setting. Playing with a controller makes it hard to make a case for a great sim.
