psydub/chill is music for GOOD people because the comments are actually useful and filled with advice instead of BULLSHIT arguments and people saying this track is so dirty that i pooped a lamb shank
4 dislikes and 298 dislikes ?!? hmm let's do some math 4 + 298 = 302; 4/302 = ~ 0.0132 .. therefore, 1.3% of the population who gets lost and comes to a cool you tube video is perplexed and pushes the DISLIKE button out of panic! ha ha let us all hold hands and maybe they will find a TRUE MAP OF LIFE!!
Interesting style. I was dreading that the standard stupid techno beat would emerge but, thankfully, it didn't and instead evolved into something very digital sounding and chill. *Clicks like*.
pitch black is pretty similar. also, bluetech's real name is evan bartholomew... he has stuff released under that name (more ambient and, in my opinion, not quite as good) and also some house stuff under the name evan marc which is very good, including an album called 'dreamtime submersible' with ambient artist steve hillage, which is an a great collaboration
@Boogieforme Shpongle is just one of a kind. Simon Posford always amazes and his music has had a huge impact on me as well! This Bluetech stuff is really chill, I like it too.
@Boogieforme Check out Bonobo. He doesn't play the same type of music but his stuff is absolutely amazing. Shpongle and Bonobo have had almost the same impact on me.
@sambadoynum Sorry for the late response, but yes I know them. Some Ott tracks are indeed very shponglesque and I've known YB for a while now, too. Thanks for the tip though! If you're also on a constant lookout for ambient/ethnic music, checkout PD7 - Anoushka Shankar, daughter of Ravi Shankar and sister of Norah Jones. It's more indian focussed, and awesome ^^
Abakus Bluetech Aes Dana Asura Autechre Aphex Twin Triola Phutureprimitive Ulrich Schnauss Zero One ...and the granddaddy of them all... BOARDS OF CANADA
@tet121 My old roommate (who played for "I Am Spoonbender" BITD) and I used to argue about this. I am content with the "Led Zeppelin" vs "Pink Floyd" analogy when it comes to comparing Aphex Twin with Boards of Canada. I prefer B.O.C., but I can see why people think Aphex Twin is the man. They were both releasing ambient/IDM (or whatever it's being called) in the 1980's.
@daehtnulb ....yesshir - but I wish he would go back to "psybient" or "IDM" or "chill out." He's gone over to the more dancy/clubby electronica for the moment.
Hell yeah, this is top notch.
