You cannot have Science/Knowledge about what is not discovered but only presumed that it will be discovered. It is oxymoronic to claim science about what is speculated and not discovered.

Come on people...the God Gene is simply a rational hypothesis that helps explain why humans, and only humans, find inspiration and beauty in a sunset, a child, a flower, a mountain top. It is not just a genetic propensity towards curiosity about the supernatural. Most humans have this interest and many, but not all, exercise this curiosity as a religion or a belief system, including atheism! Read the book!
The idea that the psychoactive chemicals DMTor Salvia may be related to the God Gene is thoroughly examined within the dialog of this novel. More of the novel is based in science fact than in fiction! It is a profound hypothesis presented within an entertaining story of adventure.
Mr E, you set up this book like Clancy would - a plot that boils down to something simple but the end result is nothing short of life altering. Likewise, with Clancy, the God Gene is a plausible scenario. Would prophetic be too far off? Fabulous book, quick read, great characters, lasting impression.
To anyone who hasn't read the book, please pick it up . . . you won't be disappointed.
