I hate it. it looks like someone put ply wood through a wood chipper and glued it back together to form the body panels. why not use regular wood that has a pleasing texture to the eye instead of chewed up toothpicks? regular wood is just as organic as hemp.

@theseanster7 The panel that was shown was not finished. It was the core without the skin. You wouldn't see it in the finished car. Hemp grows much faster than timber plantations and takes about 4 times as much carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere per acre than trees. Hemp requires no pesticides and leaves the earth in a better condition than before it was planted. Hemp is a SUPERPLANT when it comes to environmental considerations. Far superior to any other crop out there.

The use of hemp as a construction material is incredible, and I dont doubt that with more farmers taking it up as a crop and more companies competing with better products and technology, that it would rapidly become much cheaper than typical bricks. The only real concern I can think of is that it would be far more flammable? Either way, great vid - more people should know about this ridiculously versatile plant!

In Brazil many cars run on alcohol, and Audi comes very soon with an alcohol version. Hemp delivers at least 4 times more alcohol per square than the best plant competitors, like corn. One can still use the fibres for other purposes, when it is used to produce fuel. Ford produced stronger than steel car bodies in the thirties,before it was banned in the USA, with e.g. Hemp.
