@maginathan i should test if that works, because i actually have one of those Quest Rocket starter's (the electrical button thing, not the explosive). although the starter would be better for just singular rockets. for this multistage i would probably use a 9v and 1 strand of copper wire. how ever the 9v battery will have to be far away because as you may know a 9v battery contains 6 smaller batteries inside of it and each of those could explode if close to heat.
nope, any tape will melt. were talking 1600 degrees here. the best option is to make a paper rapping (like real fireworks) and then just light layer of making tape to give extra strength for the pressure forces

@nitrodavid it works just use a batterie above 7 volt, and jou can glow a steel spring, wich ingite the sparkles

use electical tape instead of masking tape and coat ouside of tape with super glue heaps and itshouldn't melt and it should have a lot of strength

@nitrodavid most of that is right, but eletrical tape is the best when you are making bombs and rockets.
