I don't understand why they're singing in English and not German, it's not right!! Also the runs of 'hasten' sound a bit rushed and slurred together. Believe me I know, my singing teacher yelled at my choir for half an hour about that - it sounds awful! and some of the high notes sound a bit iffy. I love this song but there are better versions I'm sure, so I'm going to go find one.
Speed is more right, compared to other versions... and the kid singers are on key in this difficult piece. Nice hearing it in English... German good too!
It's a shame the Toronto Boys' Choir no longer exists. I used to go to their concerts when I was a kid. They used to collaborate with the Canadian Children's Dance Theatre in their production of, 'Wintersong.'
Funny, I was just listening to this cassette tape the other day (sorting through for junk to toss) and I remembered listening to "Mr. Bach Comes to Call" as a kid on my tape player. What a coincidence that I would hit on this on Youtube lol.
ohhhhh, ohhh, this is soo awsome!!! I can't believe someone finally posted this here. I've been searching for this rendition for years; ever since my Mr. Back Comes to Call tape was stollen. Thanks soo much! I love the playfulness, and youthfulness of this version. Love the kidish boys voices.
And, cd u do the part where the C.D. begins where she is on the piano practicing, and Her Mom says, "Now u wanted to learn the piano. I know but... So no arguing. huh."

This is in reality a duet for two sopranos.

Yes. It's not uncommon to adapt works like this. Vivaldi's "Laudamus Te" is frequently done with choral groups as well.

This was one of my absolute favorite recordings when I was a kid.

I love the boys' voices! It's just wonderful. Does anybody know which Boys' Choir is singing this?

This is from "Mr. Bach Comes to Call" of the Classical Kids recordings. The Toronto Boys Choir is credited.

Yeah, it's my favorite too! Unfortunately, I don't have the Beethoven one (although I have heard it).
