Again, someone trying to make there way down a path well traveled,, get your fact, care about the people you are singing about, and then go get a real job.....
I don't suppose writing a song about a real event in history is worth while. Even if it remains neutral and just states the "facts", so the listener can be the judge. And I do have a "real job" ma'am.
Good song. Will hopefully make people think the next time they want to get in a fight over something material. Material things can be replaced. A human life can not.
Only three know the truth: Rodney, Tom, and God. Guess who will truly be the server of justice, what ever it may be. Good song.
As a citizen of Milo, let me apologize for the above comment. This town is full of lonely people who try to make their lives fuller by pretending to have a close connection to this case and the families involved. They get their dander up at a mere mention of Tom Lyon or Rodney Heemstra before even hearing what is being said. Kudos on the song. It was unbiased and in no way paints anyone involved in a negative light.

As a citizen of Milo as well, I disagree with you Mister "HonestIowan", and if you don't like it, I'll meet you at Centennial Park south of town behind the visitors' bleachers and we'll just see who ends up being lonely!

thanks for the kind words. I knew this song would touch some raw nerves. But I felt that someone had to put this uniquely, "Iowa" story into a song.
