Notable que se hayan atrevido a tocar esta canción en un país donde estaban todos vigilados por los terroristas de la CIA. Nixon culiao, genocida asqueroso.
great song. very rock and roll for s&g. i do think it would fit on the album tho, definitely no less than a "baby driver" or "keep the customer satisfied". But still BOTW is such a great album, its hard to argue any different song choices. like i said, great song.
@ohfoolishworkerbee From what I read, it was a pivotal dispute between Paul and Art. This nearly ended up on "Bridge", but Art and (I think) the producers insisted
it would minimize the perennial sales strength of the album. Many probably
wouldn't argue. But it's a great number. Big staple in the live '69-'70 shows.
@mtopper66 I read their biography, and it seems they broke up mainly because they both started to have other interests (as in trying out newer sounds and also Art's acting career).
@2dannyc89 No, he didn't like the easy way to bring that message across, he agreed with the message, but thought that this wasn't the type of music S&G were all about.
Great sound quality, and what a jaunty and terrific song!! I love the demo version of "Feuilles-O" & I think both would have added unique and varied textures to what is already as fave an album as I can think of. I'll be curious to hear if "Groundhog" would've been worth it too. I know my mom had the Peter Yarrow album ("Peter") it's on, and I heard it as a kid, but I can't really recall it at all. I look forward to hearing it again. What is your opinion of the extra BOTW songs? Blessings!
I just read an old interview from Rolling Stone with Paul Simon, and he says that Grafunkel didn't want to release this song and that he wanted to do "a Bach chorale thing" instead.
yeah just look up ART Grafunkel Feuilles-Oh/Do Spacemen Pass Dead Sould On Their Way To The Moon and you'll get the whole thing. i uploaded the osng on to youtube the other day.

Would they sing now "Gaddafi Si Obama No"? Bob Dylan was right... The times they are a-changing.

There's a reason this song didn't make the album. Thank God for someone with common sense.

Paul Simon now acknowledges that Garfunkel was right to insist that this not go on the "Bridge" album.

I find it hard to believe they would break up over this song, as I've sometimes read. It's actually pretty lightweight.

I would have found to so much harder to like them if they had put this song out.
Arcata0 2 years ago
As I heard it, Art and closer advisors vetoed Paul's intentions to include this
on the "Bridge" album, claiming it would
threaten the album's future saleability,
making it less perennial. Guess they were right...!

This track just proves that you can have all the musical ability in the world and still be an idiot.

@Kickingit06 This post shows you can write and still be an idiot.

Thanks for posting. When I saw them (quite a few times) they were absolutely non-political. This is a nice surprise.

Nice collection of rare tracks. Do you have the full album of this concert, because I've only been able to find half of it.

who is singing ? Paul only or both ? It is a great song.

Just paul, apparently art didnt like the politics of the song and wanted nothing to do with it.

@CheezzHeat I can see why he felt that way. This sounds like Jerry Lee Lewis.

This is amazing. You really got a rare find here. Paul dumped the song with Art's suggestion from the Bridge album.

My mom told me she was at this concert. She went to Oxford
bobbyiscool1992 3 years ago
Oh that must have been something. I met someone who told me that he saw Simon and Garfunkel in concert. It was just two voices and a guitar.

has anyone heard the Bach chorale that they didn't release?
knarisa 3 years ago
Well, American Tune is based on Bach Chorale. I think u mean Feuilles-O which was released on a re-released bridge over troubled water album.
2dannyc89 3 years ago
Art put a traditional song called feuilles o with a Bach song on his solo album. the lyrics were by his then-wife, Linda Grossman
kylecrazyford 2 years ago
thanks for the info. Yeah, I knew that some of the chords in American Tune was based on a Bach chorale. My music teacher told us that! :)
I've heard the rereleased Feuilles-O song too. I guess I was thinking that the song was actually going to sound like a Bach Chorale.
