how to build a grow box / room cheap easy fast

Regular 100w light bulbs??!!! Plant need the full spectrum of light u get from the sun, or special lights. They will grow but they will be spindly and u will be lucky to get a gram mate! U better off growing on a south facing window sill-planting in may harvest in sept....Use hardy plants and if it gets below about 70C then u can use of of these 100w things for heat whilst the plant is getting the natural light it needs.

Just a helpful hint. Maybe the exhaust fan would work better on the top. Just noticed that in your reference to the video. Hot air remember will travel up and gas is lower in density when it is warmer. Otherwise think that this would not be a very good grow box but if it works good for you

Also foil is not recommended as it can laser beam light (especially those hot incandescent bulbs) and burn spots throughout the plant.

that is a bad setup and it operable. The lights put off too much red light out of the light spectrum; they will reach the top before the 3rd set of leaves . you need cfl lights which put off blue light that encourages foliage growth. not to mention that those lights, if they are incandescent, will put off too much heat. The container that you used is clear which means that light will pass through and reach the roots which will also kill the plant or stunt its growth tremendously.

Box is to small, not tall enough, one fan should be opposite side drawing from the bottom and the exhaust other side closest to the top as possible to not only draw air up but hot air out. Incandescent's wont work but floros will, but your harvest will be shit unless you get a 250 or preferable a 400w hps for flowering. Oh one more thing...fuck dirt. go hydro :)

The box is too small. The lights are the wrong type, besides the fact that they aren't even the right color temperature for vegetation. Switch 'em to either florescent or metal halide. The soil looks shitty. You have no method of carbon filtration. If any weed did grow, your room would eventually reek of it.
