  • I think that I am the only 13 year old that loves this song -3

  • @peppers406 i THOUGHT SO TOO

  • @peppers406 Be proud of that, kid, be proud.

  • those boys sure did a good job, sure swammed crews on the dance floor whatever colour!!

  • zajebiste!!!!!

  • I think the main singer sings 'funky music' while the background vocals deliberately sing 'fuckin music'. So it sounds like funky and sometimes fuckin. Well, anyway...great song.

  • LUV IT! LUV IT!

  • (random) but For some reason I want to see someone sing this on "the voice" :)

  • Is this band white? Not that I care, but, now that I think of it, they probably are, eh?

  • @68DBURT see "catgroove". It's pretty cool. I'm sure they still do make this stuff.

the thing is, that stuff doesn't make it on the radio as often as the latest release by their manufactured celebrity. You have to search to find it.

  • OOOO WHEEE..Fun Fun Fun...Thanks for sharing!!

  • No Justin Bieber I am not talking to you...

  • i was a freshman in highschool when this came out. heavy assed rotation on the airwaves. still sounds good after 30-something years.

support music ed in our schools so some of these fools won't invest music's direction solely in the sampling method. if not, in 25 years we'll be reduced to moans & grunts...

  • 73 people didn't go back there......

  • LAY DOWN AN BOOGIE TO THAT FUNKY MUSIC TILL I DIEEEEEE AND I DON'T CARE IF I DO DIE DO DIE DO DIE DO :-))=~~~---3ONE1LOVE

  • Ha ha!! I never knew those guys were white! I thought the line was being sarcastic!? haha! It kind of sounds too cool to be white!

  • @ralphyization beethoven mozrart, rightous brothers, bg's whats the problem bro

  • PLAY THAT FUNKY MUSIC WHITE BOY!!!!! :)

    THIS NEVER GETS OLD <3

  • Ironically, this song was actually created by them just by goofing off in a sound room :)

They didn't think it would become a hit.

  • @clarissa10rocks That song was HUGE, eh?? I remember it!

  • @clarissa10rocks That happens more often than one might think, To be truthful. The original Blues Brothers was a few musically inclined friends getting together and FARTING AROUND, and look how huge that one was!

  • some of the new music might good to listen to but it will never be as good as the 70's & 80's the oldies or just better

  • @dragonwind1982 Agree---but in 20 years now all the things we call junk is gonna be classic to the kids today.

  • @Boaware9999 and the real classic funk and soul and disco and all the good stuff will be even better still!

  • Just had to respond to this cause my granddaughter (5) heard this on the radio and loved it. Now every time it comes on we dance to it. Amazing how a song this old would be loved by a 5 year old.

  • nice man im using this for a credits song

  • @EmoCandyPop Im Black too and i'm also shocked that the band is all White. I've heard this song so many times, and not once did I suspect that they were not Black! LOL!

  • @Ribsy3k shocked or dissapointed?

  • I love this song, like my name.

  • I was in high school when this song came out and played it on the jukedbox in our lunch room, the teachers hate this song. I also played You Can Go to Hell by Alice Cooper, they didn't like that either.

  • lájk, ha magyar vagy és a dancin' hozott ide:D

  • thumbs up if are watching this in 1976

  • how can someone not like this song? why does this have any dislikes?

  • OMG I LOVED THIS SONG AS A KID! =D

  • It was lunchtime last year in school on one of the last days of the year. The assistant principal got out a cd and played it on the sound system, and this was the first song played. And just like the song says, "they were dancin' and singin' and movin' to the groovin'". Seemed like the whole lunchroom knew at least the first verse. It's awesome how real music is still appreciated, especially in today's society.

  • @stealth00012 wow.. u should have video that and posted it on youtube..younger kids apprieciating ol skool real music.

  • @stealth00012

Wish MY school did that OUR last day.. All I got was the stupid robe...

  • and yes they are white

  • @TheMegaEmiliano 1976, there was no such thing as color. We loved everyone EQUALLY.

  • This is one of my most fave songs. Everytime I hear it, the adrenaline kicks in and I have to start to boogey till I die!!!!

  • thumbs up if your listening to this in 2008!

  • buen ritmo gracias GeeÖvanyy

  • This is the extended version, not the original 1976 mix, the vocal track (only the chorus is intact) is not the same. Nice to hear a variation of this song :)

  • In an interview they said that the "White Boy" was a direct reference to david Bowie who in that period was in he dance charts with Fame and Golden Years.

  • When this band first came around with this album I honestly thought they were a black band... But when I saw they were white it blew my mind... no offense to any black bands...

  • I had a band in the 60's-70's and this song was one of our 'go-to-standards's when we wanted the place "TO JUMP"!!! Back then we measured our success (to us was) not by how many we packed in....but rather...How Many We Could Pack on the Dance Floor!!! This song even had the non-dancer's up and 'boogying'!!! Man those were the days......

You shouldn't live in the past.... but you SHOULD enjoy the memories!!!

    So make pleasant ones!

    Be Well All... and.... "Peace".........

  • I saw an interview on VH1's Where Are They Now....Rob Parissi is strictly living off of the royalties from this song.... a songwriter's dream....!!!!

  • One of the best songs

  • Wooohooo, the #1 song on the day I was born.

  • Who would ever dislike this song"""""?

  • Regarding the above comment, grandmothers still still get down too!! I have 11 grandchildren and "love" to dance! This song makes me smile and "want" to dance. I dont know how you can listen to this one and "not" want to dance, LOL!!!!

  • Why did I think this song came out in 2003...? Lol this song was really popular when I was a kid, didn't know it was from the 70s. Makes it even better

  • @gtas321 is that when Evolution came out I think it might be and the song was a big part of that movie ok not a big part but the best part anyway lol

  • One of my favorites and I am 16

  • Damn that is cool....... :-) Check out & subscribe to our channel to when you get a moment. Thx

  • I'm a white girl and I LOVE music like this!

  • I am only a teenager and I must say that this is much better than the pop crap we have today.

  • Disco isn't dead. It's just hibernating.

  • One of the best

  • old is good

  • funky

  • play that funky cow bell white boy

  • Just to make it clear to some on this board...when they said play that funky music 'white boy', it wasn't meant to be an insult. It was meant to be a compliment. It's a way of acknowledging that he may be white, but he's got soul....white on the outside but black (soul) on the inside. Kinda hard to explain. But it was definitely a compliment.

  • @ohsnapiam59 'despite being white' is insulting everyone while trying to explain to everyone how it's not.

Personally, I'm not insulted because I couldn't give two shits and don't have a stick up my ass, but you should've just left it alone, bro

  • @LongLiveLink3 I respectfully disagree with you Love Link. We live in a seriously butt-hurt age, where everyone's so damn sensitive. The brotha was trying to tell my white brothers and sisters that it was not a perjorative comment.

WHY? Because some people today just don't get it!

  • @ohsnapiam59 : If it needs to be explained....

  • I miss this kind of music.

  • ouuuuuuu yeaaah

  • Aww shiiiitttt

  • FUNKIEST BASSLINE EVER

  • @cursedswordsman Reminds me of superstition lol

  • @cursedswordsman

Hey, I know we all have our taste, and I won’t try to convince you this isn’t the funkiest bassline ever. However, I’d suggest you try “just kissed my baby” by The Meters, “Darling Dear” by The Jackson 5 (w/James Jamerson on bass), or “Chameleon” by Herbie Hancock (even though it’s not technically a bass, it sure is fonky).

May the funk be with you :D
