u have to adjust the valves usually at every oil change with both a solid roller and mechanical roller tappet cam because the lifters themselves have no hydraulic mechanism to keep the valve lash setting. the lifter is just a solid piece of metal so you need to set the valve lash in inches according to the MFG's specs because it knocks itself out of adjustment thru normal engine operation. usually .010-.035 inches...

If using a locking nut on your rockers you can get away with checking your valve lash twice a year. Older rocker nut/studs would loosen. Using a good stud and lock nut really helps in this area.

My daily driver has been a BMW for some time, I have owned other imports too, but to drive a car like this is such a thrill, its part of the greatest automotive history in the World. I'm not saying that other cars around the World were not, but this one stands at the top in Amreica and many other Countries.
