Hey Dude! Haven't seen you around in a while. Hope you're doing okay and put out more videos. I had a major dry spell for 2009, but I'll be getting back into it shortly.
For about the last year I just hadn't been interested in it...with having to deal with the electronics, memory cards and always thinking about topics and whether they are intersting or not :) I have been getting the itch again though and plan on doing more next riding season. I had noticed you are back doing it and I have been watching...keep it up bro.
Yes I did .... reading a writeup on their webpage I'm pretty sure the only reason I recieved it was because of the video itself. Anyone familier with the route can easily see approx where I'm at the whole time ...that and with the receipts that I did have was apparently enough.
I'm glad they did the right thing! I ride the I80 and I55 corridors a lot. They're my escape routes from this city and I recognized much of what you shot. In regards to your comments on this video I have to quote a remark i heard " Only a biker knows why a dog sticks his head out the window". A good ride awakens all the senses.
I love rides like this. :) I also echo Fud's comment about riding being a substitute for flying, i'd rather be riding twistys really. :) The freedom of just riding off into the sunset without a plan or destination is which suits me best as well. :) Great vlog bro!
Riding is my substitute for flying. Also there is a lot to be said for being out in the open. I see a whole lot more compared to being confined to a cage. I can also clear my head.
PiPs are in this year.
BTW, I love these lower temperatures. No sweating at the stop lights.
Yeah, I think you're on to what riding is about. You have to pay very close attention to what you are doing. You have to be part of your bike and zonedin on the CoG, the road vibration, the sound of tires, who is going to run into you.
When you get good (centered) things become automatic and you can look around you and see everyday things in a new light. When I'm done riding for the day, I am more relaxed, settled and refreshed. Seems like this is true with whatever is mastered.
Its an incredable feeling of freedom and you see and feel everything around you when riding. Even the smallest things are more interesting and you realize theres so much more to life than your day to day crap. (:
Riding to me is about opening up to the world around u & being more 'in the moment' as a result -- as opposed to being self-absorbed & hopelessly obsessed with the past or the future, which none of us is ever guaranteed anyway ;-)
btw WR, is ur birthday coming up? 'cause ur really gonna need a better cam soon. Cams have come a long way in just the last few months alone & plus the sales seem to happen fairly regularly :-)
Keep an eye on MOTOVLOG[dot]COM because the admins there post notices of those "supersales" on exactly the cams motovloggers like ;-)
Oh I know....I just recently bought a sony HD but don't yet have a good helmet setup for it. This is definitely the last year for the V570. I'm handing it down to my son.
You can't really explain what it's like to ride a motorcycle to someone who does not ride. You can say it is a sense of freedom or whatever but it really doesn't convey the feeling of being on 2 wheels. :^)
If you get lost, don't worry about it, just wind the tape back.

WilsonRydeR69 - Bro, I overdosed and killed myself at the pace I was going. But believe me, a year of kicking back sure charges up them badderies.

Just out of curiousity did you ever get your IronButt certificate? Reading their (IBA)rules I'd say it didn't look too promising.

The feeling you're talking about is real for me also, the Zen folks call it 'being centered'.

I think for me riding represents freedom, a little solitude and being out in the elements.
