how do u know its Mn2O7 thats formed, and not just a bunch of K+, MnO4-, and SO4- ions and H2 gas? K+ salts are always soluble, and so theres no precipitate that could be manganese heptoxide. the burning of sugar and organic chemicals and paper and all the other things could be due due to the presence of S04- ion, not the mn2o7.
i dont mean to be a dick or anything, im just in high school and doin my chem project on Mn. Im very curious about this.
By the way this stuff can explode if heated to 55'C or above and struck or organic material added, So mabe not a god idea having it on glass, I don't know if it can be made on other materials without it reacting You'd have to check but I'd hate to think someone might copy this Vid and get blasted by flying glass by making a mistake... Still, Great Vid....
