I don't know what it is, but the crowd back in the Attitude Era were just a helluva lot more fun. They were almost as much part of the show as they were watching it. Just listen to the pops middle-ranked wrestlers like Al Snow and the Godfather got. That's what wrestling used to be about. No holds bar action that was a ton of fun to watch. If we had a chance to join in, we did with heart!

Everybody had a gimmick, (almost) everybody had something to give the fans to latch onto and like, and they often found their way into storylines and/or meaningful feuds with it. These days it's a bunch of vanilla geeks in pointless, stupid redux. Little wonder the audience is less interested! Apparently the kids like the toys, though.
