Bwahaha, my younger brother challenged me to unlock his padlock and I thankfully remembered this (it's got a nice tumbler with a double sided key, which he was expecting me to try picking (which I can't); not saying it's not pick-able, but this made that whole "security feature" pointless).

I watch all sorts of educational videos, but I have to say this is one of but a few that was actually applicable to something in real life. Grats, ITStactical ^.^

THIS is why our office door has a metal cover that locks over the top of the padlocks. You'd never get a bolt cutters or a shim up under there.

not trying to debunk the video but try and do it with 2 chain links in the lock, not to mention if you really needed to do this the lock wouldn't be moving so freely you would be limited to working on or against a fence or door of some sort. just something to think about.

Yes, it's VERY obvious that he's using a key in the 2nd part of the double lock. If you watch him the first time he keeps shifting his left hand (screen right) and exposing the bottom of the lock, but the 2nd time he keeps the bottom of the lock concealed the whole time and as someone else said he quickly puts it out of camera view after he opens it.

He doesn't show the base of the padlock after the cut, plus the keys are no longer on the table, and at 6:40 is the giveaway, rotates the whole lock and holds the base in a completely unnatural way, and tightens his grip on the key to turn and unlock - It's actually a little depressing that he didn't just give up and not post a phony video in desperation. *Unsubscribes*

If noise is not a factor a few blows from a rock or a hammer will yield a faster result. keep watching, there is more than one way to skin a cat..
