Why are they wearing their surplices before being installed? Also, WTF is the choir singong only a portion of SS Wesley's Blessed be the God? It's normally the Psalm (to Anglican Chant) 'I will lift up mine eyes to the hills. The actor directing is fucking crap as well. Presumably these boys were being made Head Choristers, It's all complete fanciful.

What a wonderful thing that you used to be a chorister. One reason I have always wanted to visit or even live in England is so that I could spend time in the cathedrals listening to the boy's choirs and the beautiful organ music. As close to heaven as you can get.

I was a chorister in my local church choir - being affiliated to the RSCM (Royal School of Church Music). I'm a female and at the time Cathedral choirs were exclusively boys only - this has since changed with alot of the cathedrals now having a seperate girls choir who work in tandem with the boys and along with their male adult counterparts.

Being a female myself, I am really happy to hear that girl's are able to have more opportunity to sing in cathedral choirs. Mixed children s' choirs have been a lot more common here in the states.

Our choir was a mixed choir - over the years we had the occasional intake of boys but not many stuck around so for the most part we were mainly girls singing the treble line! Cant have done too badly as one Christmas we were compared to the World Famous Kings College Choir with great feedback!!
