  • That Ibanez was better than his signature Jackson.

  • 0:13 Chris wants a kiss lol

  • when i see this kinds of video i am proud that i was born in this world

  • He just actually use two guitars? That's cool, guitarists normally use five guitars a minimum. That proves that is not necesary

  • @culodegrasa well a majority of megadeth songs are standard tuned

  • anyone hear what happened with his pick-clip thing? he said awhile back that he wanted to mass produce and sell them, but i havent heard anything

  • he completely lost me at around 4 minutes when he went on the laptop....

  • Hell yeah, 6 strings! He's my favorite guitarist of all-time and I respect him even more that he only used 1 guitar on this tour minus the spare. Keep rocking Chris!

  • He use a complex software to shape his tone, he should play keyboards, that sucks.

  • Shame this vid doesn't have his new signature, that guitar is a beast!

  • that looks like so much work

  • Chris's best work is with Jag Panzer. He wrote amazing solos but it seems like he is limiting himself. Megadeth needs to do an instrumental album.

  • @austin2460 No they don't. Theyre already going to shit, the last thing they need is acoustic songs.

  • @llksk8metal92 Instrumentals don't mean acoustic. Dialectic Chaos and Into the lungs of hell are instrumentals. They only use instruments and no vocals. I think that Megadeth could make a very good metal instrumental album.

  • Guitarworld needs to make a gear tour with Jimmy Page!!!

  • HE USE MOZILA!!!

  • nooooo why does everybody use the axe-fx :(

    I miss tubes.

  • @TheNehetCZ Judge with your ears not your eyes.

  • @22FretsIsNotEnough I do. That's why I am sad that there is finally a digital preamp capable of such great tone. Because I love tubes.

  • Who needs Marty when you've got Chris?

  • who doesnt love the axe fx!?

  • he's right about the d-activators... i've got a pair of d activator X's and they're extremely versatile pickups...

  • That S series is nice. I have 3 of them i love them all.

  • This must be one of the luckiest guys on the whole world :D

  • HELLL YEAAH HE HAS A KILLSWITCH IN HIS GUITAR!!!!

  • Where is Chris Poland or Marty Friedman? This pig-nosed guy plays like a damn typewriter. Just a cookie-cutter technician with long hair. You can have awesome technique without sounding (and looking) sterile on stage.

  • What a lazy bastard. He has some one change channels on the pedals backstage. WTF? Why play guitar? "I have one guitar backstage, one in my hotel room, one in my bathroom, one in my shower, and one under my bed at home" He is clueless about what stuff does and obviously uses his tech for it all. But most important is when you make this much money you think you need more shit to be "the best", which is total bullshit. Show offs abound in the metal guitar world, but the best are the simplest!

  • @Ikillpeopleforfree You have no fucking idea what you're talking about. Not only is he explaining how everything works, so your whole "He has no idea what stuff does" comment, but he doesn't have the switcher on stage because DAVE MUSTAINE Doesn't want it on the stage. He likes to have a completely clean stage, he's said in multiple interviews, and the other guitarists have confirmed this.

Better make sure you have your facts straight before you start talking shit about people.

  • @Ikillpeopleforfree There wasn't anything humorous about your original post. You're just back pedaling now cause you had your whole comment flipped on you. There's no satire or sarcasm in your post, it's just bullshit trolling. Keep it to yourself next time and go watch some more catheter insertion videos.

  • @Ikillpeopleforfree Sounds like you're trying really really hard to sound important and impress someone. Your a flight nurse with the name ikillpeopleforfree? You've met the band? Anyone who joined their fanclub or bought a backstage pass can do that. You own $12,000 in guitar gear? Sounds like you buy over priced junk. As for what I own, I don't think you really care, you just want to brag about how your gear is "so much better" like it's a fact. Stay buttfrustrated. :)

  • @0deliriumtrigger0 Yes, yes, and yes. I am an ESP player (Viper standard 7 & Eclipse II in black cherry & snow white, plus limited SC-600). Multiple USA Fenders. Peavey 6505+ head and 6505 cab. Acoustic 600watt bass stack. RN for 5 years. My screen name is due religious satire; you wouldn't get that either probably. And thanks for the comments. Good luck in your tough life LMFAO kid.

  • @Ikillpeopleforfree Yep. Trying real hard to impress someone. Too bad it isn't working. :<

  • What ever happened to the days when guitarists simply plugged their guitar into their amp?

  • @dmarkj22 john lee hooker would be like : what the fuck is that?

  • @dmarkj22 The days when the guitarist learned there is technology that can drastically improve sound, clarity, effects, and versatility that simply plugging into an amp cannot provide.

  • @IBJ57 Thats what rappers and pop artists said before auto tune became prominent

  • @dmarkj22 dude even Hendrix had a fat pedal board man

  • @dmarkj22 I don't recall guitarists ever doing this? Plus if you want good signature tone, you need a bunch of gear.

  • @dmarkj22 That stopped when creative people came along...

  • @dmarkj22 Jimi Hendrix happened

  • @dmarkj22 this is actually pretty simple, if you really wanna see some fucked up shit go see Petrucci Rig video, it's just ridiculous

  • @dmarkj22 bill gates and steve jobs happened

  • I have a man crush on him.

  • don't no wht hes talkin bout but i want it

  • I loved him with Ibanez. It's too bad he went to Jackson. But if Ibanez was uncompromising with him, as he has hinted at in some interviews, then I'm glad he got what he want at Jackson. I can't tell what would be different though. Maybe Ibanez just didn't want to do 4 and 3 headstock. They only do straight 6 or straight 7 on one side of the headstock.

  • For anyone that is confused about what Chris was talking about, it's all pretty clear if you know about guitar effects... If you don't, then this video is probably akin to staring at the sun... It's too brilliant for you to see with your current naked eyes.

Get some shades... By that, I mean educate yourself on this stuff... It's really quite interesting once you get into it.

    \m/

  • Heres what i prefer: 2 guitars, an amp, a wah, and a distortion pedal. ...Simple.

  • I couldn't tell if he was speaking English or what

  • Can I please get endorsed so I can get free shit for life?

  • 3:36 - In My Darkest Hour, on the drums.

  • A guy who knows what the fuck he's talking about. nice.

  • I have a X2 i got with my line 6 hd flextone 2 it was deftones old head and gear :) its sick!!

  • "Overall the set up is pretty simple..." Yeah right, the rig looks like a 4 car pile up...Chris is a legend guitarist, no doubt at all! However, I sometimes think guitarists nowadays, really have too complex rigs...What ever happened to plug in and play!

  • @5150VanAlien Damn right. All you really need is a guitar, an amp, maybe some pedals, then mic them through a PA. the simplest it can get, and probably the best.

  • @dcalde78 @dcalde78 Thanks dude...check out Europe's John Norum. He's rig, as you say, are Les Pauls, plugged into Marshall's via a few pedals. Check it out!

  • @5150VanAlien You should James Hetfield's amplification setup... For a rhythm guitarist, its crazy xD

  • get that damn Noise Gate off those microphones!

  • What happened to the days when all you had was an old beat up fender, an even older amp and a wah wah pedal???

  • @Arrancargod When ESP and Ibanez started making those sick Gibson and Fender replicas lol

  • @mowshetung yea but that doesnt justift this guy having all the technology from the next milenium just so he can sound better lol

  • @Arrancargod Maybe you're right. But his guitars are shaweet!!

  • @mowshetung amen

  • @Arrancargod Old Fenders got expensive, amps got cheaper, and Kirk Hammet ruined the Wah.

  • Wait... DVD Decrypter and Handbrake at 4:21. Chris likes to rip them DVDs.

  • If that RGA had a hole in it, I'd probably fuck it.....

  • Finally a guitarist who knows what's in his rig. That's a real guitarist.

  • I would not like the job as the sound controler, because I know I would fuck up, and forget to switch XD

  • I think he uses a 5150iii now.

  • what song is that in the beginning?

  • @MetalovDeatH When he first got his guitar it was the deactivator, but now he is working on his signature pickup, so in the Jackson website it says "custom made dimarzio".

  • What a humble guy :)

  • His guitar tech Fred Kowalo comes out in the movie RockStar, hes the one backstage that says Personal Pass, when trying to fool Jennifer Aniston.. it was actually Pussy Pass LOL

  • that man has some nice hair.

  • Is it possible that i get one model like that one white ibanez....it is so fucking perfect

  • @Sotos7Xania Ibanez Custom Shop! Yeah that guitar is beautiful.

  • @kingv911 They do actually have a custom shop??Last time i checked their site i couldn't find it...Anyway thanks for the info

  • wow, i can't believe he actually uses digital distortions and amps, a few years ago no professional guitarist would be caught dead not using 100% analogical stuff...the future is today my friends

  • @felphero That's why Megadeth's tone live is sucking so much. I wouldn't change my allvalve head fot nothing. Don't fix what is working.

  • @Gabriopunk77 Personally I use both. I play with Peavey amps which only have digital effects on the new models. But I do also use my line 6 which primarily use analog based distortions along with some pedals here and there. I like the sound of both. Its not the sound that matters its the sound that you want that matters and who is trying to get that sound.

  • @Reed0Sparky0Leighton My point is: if he was satisfied with his tone with Engl amps, why switch over to axefx and use a simulated Engl amp in it? Why not use the real deal? It's like a video of Mustaine saying that he switched from Marshall to Line 6 and had them made a Marshall replica (around UA sessions). Not only it doesn't make sense to use a simulation when you can get the real one, the simulation is ALWAYS worse then the original. And they still use valve poweramps!

  • @Gabriopunk77 I thinkI've read that Mustaine forbids him from using anything but Marshall on stage, so the only way he can get the Engl sound since there is no Engl head for him to use is to use a amp simulation on the Axe-FX.

  • @kingv911 lol damn no wonder marty left, marty loves them engl amps. jk but serioiusly forbids?! I thought dave chilled out since his return to metal in 2004. Is it some sort of deal he has with marshall?

  • @Gabriopunk77 I completely understand that. Its like playing acoustic clean and trying to make an acoustic sound. YOu will never get that deep beautiful tone out of it. I understand exactly waht your sayin.

  • @Reed0Sparky0Leighton Yes! That's the point! It's always better to use a real acoustic guitar than trying to get the same tone with an electric and a Boss Acoustic Simulator, haha. In the same way, a digital fx processor will never have the same richness of a valve amplifier.

  • @Gabriopunk77 Haha. We are agreeing too much. So...... FUCK WHAT YOU JUST SAID! Just kidding. Lol.

  • I'm clueless to whatever he is talking about @.@

  • 1:14 = drool*

  • Lol what if the computer freezes ?

  • @matt90350

    hahahaha

  • @matt90350 what computer?

  • Axe Fx Rulees!!!!

  • very soon technicians will be wiping asses too Goddamned modern "guitar gods", they're so busy shredding that they don't even have time to switch the switch Why even bother getting on stage, get lookalike to jump around like a monkey, and let technician play the parts Besides, many technicians are so much better guitarists than actual guitar "heros" themselves

  • Í think he loves the ZR bridge!

  • Simple my ass.

  • the one thing you can know about the contemporary legend Chris Broderick after watching all the interviews and how he handles himself is that-he's HUMBLE....

  • just 2? WHYYYYYY? U ARE RICH!!! haahhaha

  • lol looks like windows 98

  • He doesn't need all these effects he's just sooo good that he bought all these to try and disprove that he is a god

  • Shit, he's very down to earth

  • @markdlowe Wonderful person

  • And i have another guitar for when im in the bathroom.

  • Why is everyone so mesmerized by a relatively simple rack rig? If he used a dozen pedals and a head no one would think anything of it.

  • anybody have that ibanez? is the neck like a 2X4 like every other ibanez?

  • Marty was the best, moore melodic, but Chris has an increadeble technique

  • notice his face when he's talking about the Marshall power amps, kind of like saying... Mustaine made me do this.... sorry ENGL

  • this dude is a badass!

  • Im surprised they dont have one of those switchers that change at specific points in the song because there playing to a click track. ah well.

  • wouldn't it be funny if he accidently opened up some porno while showing his guitar program

  • @celiasarron Why would he need porn? He's in Megadeth.

  • @caocao234 The Tech is the one in charge of the computer.

  • I hate the ZR trem...meh...the rest of the guitar owns though.

  • i have guitar pro 6 on my computer!!!

  • I met chris broderick a awesome guy!!

  • What ive learned about Chris Brodericks Gear :

    Holy Fuck.

  • @TheBaz3m fcking shit man!!

  • pretty simple set up my ass

  • lol "I'm just joking, he's good."

    hahaha

  • lol hes got like Windown 98 on his PC!

  • For everybody whining about "too much gear" ... the dude is using a digital preamp with one effect loaded (sometimes) and a poweramp ... what the heck is complicated here?

My 15 year old nephew runs a more complicated rig than this...

  • @SparkPlugnl What does he run?

  • @SparkPlugnl the fact is..he play even better than u..!!haha!!

  • @Megadethrayer

    Nice troll there, congrats.

  • @SparkPlugnl I feel sorry for your nephew, he'll never develop his own tone. That's the worst mistake young wannabes make. They buy either tons of pedals or build rigs the size of refrigerators hoping to get decent sound But take away all this technology, give them acoustic guitar or just guitar and amp and all of a sudden they sound like shit There is a video here of James Hetfield having problem with the switch, you can hear for a moment how he really sounds

  • @TosiekDegutis That makes no sense. Gear won't play the guitar for you.

  • Comment removed

  • @TosiekDegutis

Seriously dude? You have no understanding of this whatsoever. You can't take "he has a big rig" and transform it into "he sounds like shit without a mass of gear"..

  • @SparkPlugnl Well, I think that the guys who thinks this rig is complex have never, like me, saw or tested a "rig", being grounded with pedals and amps. I would love to know more about all the units the pro's uses.

  • @SparkPlugnl What the hell are people thinking, this is his gear, not everyone elses. He'll do whatever he pleases to get a good sound.

  • @SparkPlugnl And he only has 2 guitars for live, while a bunch of people have around 4 to 5 xD.

  • @000acr000 The Metallica guys use about six or seven during a show.

  • Only 2 guitars?! Damn you sir, we demand more guitarpr0n!

  • MUST BUY EVERYTHING CHRIS BRODERICK HAS

  • ADVANCED SYSTEM CARE!!!!!!

  • actually thats just chris' preferances. dave i believe just has the guitar and amp. who would you rather work for?

  • 8 people who think kirk hammett is a better guitarist than chris broderick have seen this

  • Chris is too complex for a mainstream band.

He should be challenging Steve Vai in Celebrity Deathmatch lol

  • Was I supposed to understand any of that?

  • he has guitar pro 5

  • @plasma9681 All I saw was PowerTab lol.

  • it looks more complicated that it actually is.

  • @freakguitar1 *n.

  • man all this gear is insane...its a thrash metal band ffs, marty didnt use all this pish and wrote the best solos in megadeth, chris is good but hes not right for this band in my opinion.

  • fred kowalo was zakk wylde's guitar tech. he was even in that film "Rock Star"

  • I love Megadeth, but Chris is capable of so much more

  • There is a porno groupie folder in his desktop..!!

  • @orgasmatron665 Timestamp, pl0x xP

  • Comment removed

  • ...and then, you know, some of us use our computer's for video games. Chris \m/

  • dave should play de armonized parts not the computer ¬¬

  • Vox wah, Mayer Fuzzface & Octavia. Not to mention studio fx like phase shifting & backward effects. Hendrix did indeed use equipment to create different sonic textures. Btw, ZeProfezional, why is it, do you think, that SO many guitarists from SO many genres cite Hendrix as a major influence?

  • I like how dave makes him use marshall power amps but he's using a Powerball Preamp clone in the Axe-Fx

  • i wonder if this equipment can match the ability to create solos like jimmi hendrix mmmmm i don´t think so

  • @svtrs1 Hahaha! You retard, why would you compare broderick to hendrix?

Thats like comparing beer to wine, its personal preference. The only reason you posted this i is probably because you feel jealous that broderick sounds so good with all his modern equipment, and hendrix sounds like crap with all the shitty recordings of him, not to mention his horribly sloppy technique.

  • @ZeProfezional I´m not comparing, i´m just saying that is almost impossible that someone that can play the guitar with this kind of equipment could sound bad, and that the classic guitar heroes did some amazing things without this stuffs, and he is a really good guitar player i never said that he wasn´t

  • @ZeProfezional who cares about his technique. hendrix sounded amazing. Marty friedman has crappy technique also and he sounds amazing.

  • oh my god so technical haha

  • What about Dave?

  • @theBOSSDS1 dave doesnt use any gear besides his deans, hes just that good XD

  • its fun to buy pedals and stuff, but the best sound is a good guitar, with great pickups and a awesome amp i believe

  • What's the song at the beginning? That riff is killer!

  • @TheColourLine Megadeth - Headcrusher. It's from their most recent album, 2009's Endgame.

  • ive learned that its impossible to plug a guitar into an amp amd just jam anymore. I guess if u have enough rack equip. anyone can sound good. Broderick us the man though.

  • @ebraski3 Ehh, You want to sound good. I think for big live shows and studio it's pretty important. But if you're just jammin with a buddy in your bedroom it's not very important to sound great. The writing comes first. Then you can mess with all the extra toys.

  • he uses cdex!

  • If you guys pause the video at 3:52, you will notice on the top left there is a folder that says, "new metal riff". Hmmmmmmm, i wonder if that riff will be included in Megadeth's new album th1rt3en? Only time wi
