People complain about this game's lack of gore but I don't think this is a huge step back. We forget that MK9 borrows a lot from this game, not only when it comes to characters' appearances ,but also the combo system which was brought into MK9 with a few improvements.

I agree. I love Soul Calibur IV, but SCIV's "Story" Mode SUCKS. It gets you to the pretty cut scene at the end faster, but long text opening + 5 quick rounds + epic looking end cutscene does NOT equal a story mode.

Thank you for giving this game a just review. -HungryJake (Former Rank 2 MK v DC Xbox live 2009). I'm so impressed with what the creators accomplished.  In my opinion this is the best fighter ever made. Within the set parameters of the games physics engine the combos are almost completely freestyle. The practiced yet real time improved modern day chess matches i used to have with some of the best players from around the nation were a truly remarkable gaming experience. Thank you everyone.

They should make a Mortal Kombat vs. Street Fighter game! But it would be all balanced out, MK would use fatalities & SF would use Brutalities, N the evil ones would use fatalitities as well. But it wouldn't be toned down like they did with mk vs dc, It would be more gruesome..Im pretty sure they'll work something out...Also they should put the option to pick what kind of controls you want to play as, either the MK controls or the SF controls. Nice Game. Could be perfect if they didn't add an option ejecting both figthers outta Ring to give Advantage to the CPU.
