I totally agree with everyone's opinion about the Whites. I live among them in a very wealthy community. I have no love for any because with their sweet words (supposedly, not to be rude), they are as hypocritical as they come. I don't understand why natives from South America mostly look up to the Whites in their own country. We need to improve, but not look up to anyone but GOD. I know one thing that American policy is still to degrade native people so that in future they didn't raise claim again. When people's conscious world wide will be higher. My grandfather was full Lakota but I am mostly African American. I am seen by the white man as African American and treated as such. My argument has always been centered around the Native American. I have always said the white man has almost wiped out an entire race of people. Natives should be on the endangered list. I love native traditions. A house divided can't stand. People of color should stick together or we will parish. That is the white mans long term plan for people of color.

They don't have much structure or following, muchless follow through. They identify with Aztecas, as a symbol of Mexican solidarity. Aztlan literally means the southwest US, not Latoka territory. Most Indians I know refer to themselves as a Lakota or Cherokee first. But, I have also heard them use the term Indian in reference to all tribes. It's not an accurate term, but it's hardly a racist one.

I'm reading LAND OF THE SPOTTED EAGLE by Luther Standing Bear. I'm only on page 33 but already I'm so impressed with his description of Lakota life that I feel they must have been living in Heaven on earth. We are definitely not living the way we are supposed to; our way of life will doom us. Lakota people, whatever you take from our modern culture, please be wise enough to discard the evil, and bring into your own goodness only the things that will make you stronger.

I totally agree with everyone's opinion about the Whites. I live among them in a very wealthy community. I have no love for any because with their sweet words (supposedly, not to be rude), they are as hypocritical as they come. I don't understand why natives from South America mostly look up to the Whites in their own country. We need to improve, but not look up to anyone but GOD. Thank you to all the Native Americans for showing us there is a sweet and loving world outside of ours.

Certain justice will demand to treat you fairly then there are more chance that you wil have more voices than before higher than anybody in your place. My grandfather was full Lakota but I am mostly African American. I am seen by the white man as African American and treated as such. My argument has always been centered around the Native American. I have always said the white man has almost wiped out an entire race of people. Natives should be on the endangered list. I love native traditions. A house divided can't stand. People of color should stick together or we will parish. That is the white mans long term plan for people of color.

lordcron; You are right on! LakotaSioux11 has nothing to worry about. I don't agree entirely with Mecha or some of these other organizations like Aztlan. These are very small organizations. They don't have much structure or following, muchless follow through. They identify with Aztecas, as a symbol of Mexican solidarity. Aztlan literally means the southwest US, not Latoka territory. They will have to fight with Apache my people first. LOL. But I agree with smiley6nofx as well.

Most Indians I know refer to themselves as a Lakota or Cherokee first. But, I have also heard them use the term Indian in reference to all tribes. It's not an accurate term, but it's hardly a racist one.
Native American really isn't an accurate term. I was born in America, therefore I consider myself a Native American, even though I'm white, but I don't consider myself European. I'm American.

Your Adam and Eve are just a myth. The culture of one group having power over everyone else has brought more bloodshed and war than anything the indigenous could conceive. The U.S. Constitution is not a God inspired document. It originally only applied to white males, from English ancestory. German immigrants were treated better by the Mohawk than the English colonists. Some prefer to forget any ties to the other side of the world because of all the horrors of it's history.

I am Irish, my people too were persicuted starved and had our land stolen. Native Americans sent corn and other provisions in 1847 during our Ancesters great hunger. I respect this action very much and thank your ancestors. I hope your people will get justice and peace.

U.N.I.T.Y. is going to Oklahoma this summer of 2007. Natives from all over the nation will be there with their tribe. Come meet new people, share your culture. Their will be entertainment; food and dances. Their will also be workshops for college and health...Last year UNITY went to Buffalo, NY, and it was fun. Research some more about it. See you there!

I am not Native American, or White. However, I have always been a big admirer of the Native American spirit and approach to Life. It's great to still learn more about this beautiful culture. It's also great to see others' interest and appreciation for it.

I'm reading LAND OF THE SPOTTED EAGLE by Luther Standing Bear. I'm only on page 33 but already I'm so impressed with his description of Lakota life that I feel they must have been living in Heaven on earth. We are definitely not living the way we are supposed to; our way of life will doom us. Lakota people, whatever you take from our modern culture, please be wise enough to discard the evil, and bring into your own goodness only the things that will make you stronger.

I really like this, I am a white man but I feel like there are many things that I and all white people could learn from the wisdom of lakota culture. I am only greived and ashamed of the atrocities and arrogance my ancenters comitted against the lakota and all American Native peoples.
