@Minhist You sound like one of the U of A snobs who scoffed at me for transferring to Grant Mac and now can't get a job with his BA.
Define a "real education." The Grant Mac program may not have Harvard admittance requirements, but it has partnerships with relevant organizations, an advisory committee of professionals in the industry, and field placements. It's also good for networking.
I don't work for Grant Mac, but I thought I'd provide a counterbalance in the comments. ;)
Fair enough. That post makes you appear far more reasonable than the first, and I think your third point is legitimate. There would be overlap at the academy and the "business communications" class and such could certainly be clipped.
I still think it has pros and cons, as I know people who gained employment through this program and some positions(i.e. Military Police in the CF) explicitly require a Police Studies Diploma. Really depends what you're looking for.
pointless. Get a real education and a degree

@SecondsToLast
1. I'm a graduate of this program
2. Went back to MacEwan for a BA (Going for my masters at UofA) since it has better internships based on your degree choice than UofA.
3. Program is pointless since you learn everything again at the academy and most classes are just filler classes
4. I was merely attacking the program not the institution.

@Minhist
And by the way, "cheers" for being able to have a discussion without it turning into a flame war. A rarity on youtube.
