  • I love this church and have been to mass there. God bless you all.

  • fantastic liturgical space! way to be true to the traditional architecture and design, but bring the liturgy into the 20th century. Not a fan of the rail around the ambo. Rails always seem to divide.

  • This is the third renovation of the church's interior since the Second Vatican Council: the first resembled the interior of Barbara Eden's genie bottle; the second was somewhat more tasteful but not nearly as successful as this one, which did make use of previously discarded materials. Realizing that you can't make everybody happy, it was decided to make the worship environment suited to (everybody say it together, now): "full, active, and conscience participation in the liturgy." We love it.

  • That said, fine playing of a fantastic hymn. Sounds as if your people sing, too.

  • Please tell me that the altar rail did not become the pulpit...

  • You're a fantastic organist. Need to find a good Anglican church to really exploit your talents :)

  • @mikedc2020 So you insult his church.

  • I hate to say it, but as beautiful as St. Peter's is now, how much more beautiful must it have been pre-Vatican II...

  • @istgone Double, triple...QUADRUPLE thumbs up...

  • This is really moving! All I've ever heard in a Catholic Church before is no music except the chanting of the priest (I can't go to the main mass, because I'm playing the organ in a Protestant church.) I love to do alternate harmonizations on the last stanzas of hymns, but most of the churches where I've played don't like it! The people want to sing in harmony all the way through.

  • I'm an ELCA Lutheran and we've sung this hymn many times also.

  • This church is so tastefully done.......

  • I would like to know what feast this is. This is usually played for Holy Thursday. But I see the liturgical colors are violet.

  • @4902STEVEN OK, it is 5th Sunday of Lent. Sorry.

  • This has to be one of my favorite hymns! All love from the other side of the TIber (TEC).

  • @brass- Lehocky (one "e") is actually a corruption of a Slovak name. He does have a D. Min. from Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary, but he's a cradle RC.

  • I see from M. Husey's description that the celebrant is Rev. Leigh Lehockey. An odd name for an RC,no? Did he swim the Tiber from ELCA or TEC?

  • It is just a tad too slow -- for my taste, but I am a huge fan of the reharmonization on the last stanza.

  • Now this is the way Mass should be done. You folks can teach the Canadian branch of the church how to do it!

  • Trust me - you could teach many American parishes how to do it as well!

  • late comers..tsk tsk...lovely church and organ.

  • Excellent, and I like the variation at the end.

  • I LOVE the free accompaniment on the final verse and refrain!
