Not really any drop outs, and none after 1.00, and the picture quality is terrific. Glad you posted it. Tim deserved better success here in Oz as a solo artist.
Man, this brings back memories of 1983! I think that's the year it came out but either way, that's the year I think about. I was 16... thank you for posting it!!!
IMHO this video is a MASTERPIECE:among the VERY BEST ever done in the whole damn history of Music Videos! Tim's music videos for "Not Even Close" and "No Thunder, No Fire, No Rain" are also wonderful!!!
A beautiful song and a brilliant music video that to this day remains on the list of the top 100 music videos of all time! Interesting note:the ballerina seen here was dating Tim at the time and she is also featured on another of Tim's music videos ("Staring At The Embers")from the same period.
thank you, I have all, not only Split Enz albums but also Tim Finn's VINYl !!! :0 I have followed these guys since day dot, but I have always had a soft spot for Tim.
To this day and have all his new stuff, what a voice and what talent. PLEASE Tim never stop. : ]]
i also have this clip on dvd which i coppied off video some years ago its original recorded off tv in 84 but i dont think i can upload it to here as it is with a lot off others i done then and only have a couple of seconds gap? But its good to see at least 1 on here.
If you have it on DVD, you should be able to rip the DVD directly into your computer. Then it's pretty easy to separate the videos down to the frame level. There are plenty of free editing programs out there.
My computer is 3 years old in march and does not have a tv card and i have tried to rip it on to hard drive with media player 11 but it did not recognize the dvd-rw i used. so i will wait until i buy vista premium it has a media system to record. Thanks for your feed back.
I hear this song every night at work & tonight , I actually had a chance to catch some of the lyrics. Wrote them down , found out what the tune was & voila...
Here it is!
The only copy on YouTube. Much kudos to you for the upload!
Yes, the 8mm film shown here is indeed of him and his family EXCEPT for the part that shows the girls being squirted by some guy with a garden hose. The man and woman seen walking down the front steps of their house are his parents when they were young. The scene of the little boy doing a hula dance for the adults was TIM as well as the little boy seen peeing in the bushes and the little boy wearing swimming fins. Tim's parents LOVED making family films, lol.
I love Tin Fimm

Do you know if the 8mm film is of the Finn family? It looks to be of the right vintage.

Timm dated the ballerina in the video, then began dating actress Greta Sacchi.

I'd totally forgotten about this song, but remembered it as soon as it started. They had a way with tunes, those Finns. Cheers!
