  • im getting the 51inch lcd 3d one for my 14th bday and i have a place for it to be set up up but is it worth the pricwe?

  • two fingers deep indeed

  • You have a HUGE tv man...i will buy the Samsung 43'' plasma 3d

  • @gamesreflexoes, haver you get one, you may want a bigger one. :)

  • angry birds

  • awesome man!! rung Samsung, the shop i bought it it from and they couldn't help with this. mine was ex display so no manual with it. helped out a lot

  • great vid man, i just ordered the Samsung 51" Class 1080p 600Hz 3D model from sears, im so excited because i wanna see how uncharted 3 looks on it, and my blu ray movies. it will be here a day before Christmas so it works out extra sweet. im upgrading from a vizio 42'' full hd 60 htz

  • @ron2186, Thanks for your comment. I think you are your family will be very happy with the Samsung and have a great Christmas.

  • @MikesHDVideos ...Does this have 2d to 3d conversion?

  • @bagshitass, Yes, it does a good job in the conversion, IMO.

  • youve still got ur christmas tree LOL

  • im getting this next month! yay and its my first 3-d tv for me in my life cant wait and i purchase the glasses first tho. lol

  • @beaukim15, Enjoy. :)

  • sid is that you? :P

  • Samsung is really good, but the speakers are garbage. Once I get my own place I plan on doing a surround system, but I had to go with the Panasonic Plasma. Their speakers seem to be better.

  • i love the Tvs these days dont have that back end like the CRTs had.

  • who do i have to kill to get a 50 inch TV is that in metric or imperial?

  • i dont think there were any HD CRT Tvs. CRTs are all standard def, analog

  • @BRm2008

Yes there was, Sony was pushin' some "Hi-Scan Wegas" with 1080i native resolution just a few years back.

I can't believe people were stupid enough to be breakin' their backs haulin' those 250-pound gorillas up the stairs, while almost everybody else already had switched to LCDs and plasmas.

For a while, they were arguing bitterly over why they thought those heavy-ass contraptions were SUPERIOR to flat-panel TVs.

    Well, times have changed...

  • haha you go from av to 3d tv

  • Are you by any chance italian?

  • Thanks, good review.

  • Plasma TV's don't last as long as LED or LCD would....just saying.

  • @infamousericx3, That is debatable...just saying.

  • @MikesHDVideos - actually LED 1080 600hz 3D TV is none debatable

  • @MikesHDVideos just hope u will not forget it on when u leave home if there's a still image left it'll burn it on the screen eventually

  • @DonMega187, Thanks for the info. So far I have not had the problem.

  • @infamousericx3 you are aware that samsung guaranties 100,000 hours on their plasma tvs right? , thats like 3 hours a day for 54 years so that is very incorrect and very old statement

  • @infamousericx3 You're an idiot. Just saying.

  • @infamousericx3

They last the same, let's see if in 20 years or so you can find the lamp for your LCD....JUST SAYING.

  • @Hell1um

    Very true!

  • @infamousericx3 Wrong! Older plasmas maybe, but now both LCD and plasmas will last for 70,000 hours. People that spread false information all over the internet should just keep their thought to them selves!

  • @infamousericx3 untrue! now brands are stating that they last 100,000 hours just like lcd

  • @infamousericx3

But nobody would know for sure, since LEDs haven't even been out all that long yet.

And many consumers nowadays are changing their TVs like every 3-5 years or so anyway.

  • @infamousericx3 Is 30+ years not long enough for you?

  • @TheGamingRelated that post is really old. drop it.

  • at what distance you sit from the TV ?

  • @ktosi11, I sit about 12 feet away.

  • @ktosi11 no eyes burn ?

  • @ktosi11, No, no eye burn, but emergence. :)

  • looking at your old tv there and the one you just got lol that was a huge jump. good choice in tv. i have it in a 50inch

  • @JTM2808, The old one is a 34 inch HD CRT TV I got back in 2001. I think it is over 300 pounds!

  • @MikesHDVideos i got the same tv a the small one they are really good they might look shit but they are really good they last long and now i have a 42 inch tv :)

  • Very very cool

  • plasma has better 3d due to its viewing angles and it has better black levels. Color seems to be better also. just my opinion

  • Lol it's funny how all these old guys and little kids who talked their mom into buying them an led tv thinks it's the best thing ever when plasma's look way better.

  • To all of Mike's peeps:

My buddy also has the 50" version of this TV.

Feel free to ask any questions before buying!

  • @Pinhead222

You will be BLOWN AWAY by the picture quality from Blu-rays displayed on this TV.

    I'm not kidding you!

  • Iv had this tv since Christmas and still get image retention does any one know how long this will happen for? I have all the contrast, brightness and cell light very low still get image retention after about 5 mins

  • @MegaPeeeeter

Try running some screensavers on it for a few hours and see if that helps a bit.

  • i bought a panny plasma not impressed shouldve got a sammy

  • @MaLuEiD

    Which model did you buy?

  • who buys plasma anymore.I have 6300 samsung 55inch led tv and that tv is f....g amazing!!.

240HZ mean 240 frams per second and it's got nothing to do with 1080p

all the station send their signal in 60 hz

  • @andrewcobra2000, There are advantages and disadvantages for each type of TV. In my case, a Plasma TV is a better chose. Do a search on "Plasma vs LED" on both YouTube and a web search engine to see if your chose was the best for you.

  • @MikesHDVideos

I like plasmas better for watching movies.

  • @MikesHDVideos plasma all the way

  • @andrewcobra2000 Plasmas still produce a better image than lcds. Deeper blacks, more accurate colors that dont over saturate and the most important thing...RESPONSE, not frame rates. You can talk up your 240hz all you want but the fact is, response on plasma is 0.00001ms compare to 4-12ms on S-PVA panels found on lcds. This is what you want for 3D. This is why plasmas have no ghosting

  • @krisspykrapper

3D plasmas are way too dark!

If you want nice 3D tv buy Sony HX929 full array led tv 960 hz

  • @andrewcobra2000, Thank you for your opinion. It looks like you did not take my advice and search YouTube and the internet for the advantages and disadvantages of each type of TV.

  • @krisspykrapper

    I agree with you there.

And this model of plasma in particular (Samsung PNC8000) is known to excel with both 2D and 3D content.

  • @andrewcobra2000 me!! plasmas have truer colors against lcd and led tvs. leds are catching up to plasmas but plasmas are still superior in alot of ways. they move faster and their colors are stunning. my house has all lcds except my room, its a plasma and lcds are just PALE compared to plasmas. they all have disadvantages, but plasma has more advantages than disadvantages. lcd and led aint got shit on plasmas!!!!

  • @andrewcobra2000 The tv that was said to be the best picture in both 3D and 2D they have ever seen by CNET was a Panasonic plasma. Plasmas may not be the newest thing but some surpass LEDs when it come to picture quality. And plasmas have a refresh rate of 600hz.

  • @andrewcobra2000 If plasma's were as thin as LCDs, weighed as much as used as little power... more people would be choosing plasma over LCD. There's a lot of people who choose LCD based only on those listed above (just go to any Best Buy and you'll witness this).

  • @ericdscheller

    They're workin' on it.

Plasmas are anything but work-in-progress, and they are certainly gettin' better with the technology.

  • did u have an antena?

  • @TheRickiebobby, I have a home made quad bow tie antenna in my attic. Works great for my location. More info and a photo can be found at:

Would not let me post the URL. It is on the avsforum web site. The "How to build a UHF antenna... " thread, Post number 587, user MikeySoft

  • i have the same TV its great i wish we could get Avatar 3D for it though.

  • @xTURDxFURGESONx

Don't worry, lotsa 3D titles will be available on Blu-ray soon and will become alot cheaper too!

  • how much did that tv cost

  • @jasonhchea, The C indicates it is a 2010 model. It should be cheaper now then when I got in last year. But you may only be able to get the D 2011 model.

  • Mike - Hows the remote treating you? I heard horrible things, but after using it for the past few months, what are your opinions? Also, how's the heat? My buddy's plasma is super hot.

  • @tazinlwfl, I never cared for the remote. Mostly because it has too many buttons and they all feel the same so it is easy to press the wrong one. I like the iPhone app on my iPod Touch Samsung. The app is display is smart and groups the button across verious screens. By smart, when you press one button, it my go to a different screen which would have the next thing you need.

  • Continue,

I connect the TV to my blu-ray and digital camera. All are different brands but use HDMI CEC. It is very nice to control all devises with one remote without havening to program any device codes. Also, when I turn on a device, the TV automatics switches the input to that device.

  • @tazinlwfl, I've notice the Plasma TV screens are warmer then the lcd and lcd/led TV in the store when I was doing my research. That is why it uses more energy. However, it is energy star and only uses 183 watts according the government spec for this model. The screen is warm but not hot, I also feel radiation heat when I get close. Also also have the video in movie mode which looks very nice to me, maybe you friend has an older model or has the video in vivid mode?

  • @tazinlwfl

The remote is pretty nicely designed and quite easy to clean even with a wet cloth, seeing how it doesn't have any of those spaces and openings in between the buttons like how most other remotes do.

The heat from these new slim plasmas now only dissipates from the front of the screen and not from the back unlike the older plasmas from a few years back.

The heat is very minimal due to the low power consumption, even when it's been on for several hours.

  • 55 inch is way to big 42-47 would be max for me

  • This is a 58 inch TV. The size of the TV depends on many factors like the size of the room, personal taste, and one's budget. I like my 58 inch size, especially for 3D as it is more emergent. Sometimes I think the 63 inch would be better. The only problem I see is not all program material was filmed in HD and may not look very good on a large screen. I use my older 34 inch HD Sony TV I got back in 2001 when there is something I want to watch which is not HD. Most of the time I do not watch it.

  • @MikesHDVideos That is very true :o

  • @Spongeking5

Depends on how far you sit away from the screen.

55 - 60 inches looks great if you're at least about 10 or 12 feet away.

In my opinion, the bigger the better especially when watching sports or playing videogames!

  • Cause I want a good quality picture big screen and I'm also gonna use it for gaming but mostly movies

  • @Peter101282, I've heard year old technology is good for business. It almost as good as the latest but not as expensive. The Samsung C models are the 2010 models, the Ds are 2011 so you should get a good buy on the Cs but don't wait for too long.

  • My bad mike I'm typing on my I phone my fucking fingers are too big for this touch screen bullshit

  • @Peter101282, For example, I just got a sound system for the TV (YouTube video soon). During my research, I decided to get 2010 speakers. The internet prices where a lot cheaper for the 2010 but stock was low. However, I waited a while. The 2010s were out when I decided to get them, so I had to pay the big bucks for the 2011s which I don't think the speakers are much different.

  • Yo mike Im thinking if ordering this tv today tell how the picture quality and if the 3d is good do you think it's a good investment

  • @Peter101282, Picture Quality is very good IMO. The 3d is good, even the simulated from 2D but, to be honest with you, I don't used 3D that much anymore. 3D is more of a novelty for me and I don't like wearing the glasses. But 3D is a gee-wiz when friends and relives come over.

IMO electronics are never a good investment. They always get cheaper and better over time. But you can't wait for ever for something better or cheaper. You would never buy any electronics if that was true. :)

  • @Pinhead222, Blu Rays look great!

  • whats better plasma or led lcd in your opinion

  • @Peter101282, There are pluses and minus between LED/LCD and Plasma TV. Do a search on google and YouTube for more info. For my case I like the Plasma. That is why I got this TV.

  • @Peter101282

Plasma is good for watching movies or anything that requires critical and precise picture quality; especially 3D content.

LCDs/LEDs are more ideal for gaming, since they don't have any chance of image retention or burn-in.

  • good show Mike:)do you have ps3 or x-box360?

  • @davidgahan73, No, I do not have games connect to this TV.

  • Got it for $1560 with starter kit from Amazon ... Oooh yeahhh

  • @geoman4ever, That is a good deal. :)

  • @KarelKanonslag

    i will get a 58inch for $1399 next tag

    pn58c680

    im you for link

  • WHats the difference between an LED and Plasma

  • @NoWee5000, The simple answer is a LED TV is the same as an LCD TV but uses LED as a backlight. The LCD blocks different colors. No blocking makes white, blocking all colors makes black. A plasma aluminates different colors . illuminate all colors makes white, illuminate no colors make black. You need to search the internet and youtube for a better answer and the pros and cons for each type.

  • @MikesHDVideos Ok I didnt get it but thanks my mom just got one.

  • i was wondering how long have you had this? i heard plasmas BREAK VERY EASILY

  • @SuddenMovieImpact, I've had the TV for about 6 months. LCD/LED has a plastic screen while plasma has a glass screen. I understand the glass screen is easier to break if is shipped improperly . You should never lay the screen flat because the weight of the glass also makes it easier to break.

  • @MikesHDVideos Thanks So Much, But You Misunderstood Me.

I Was Wondering if they breack technically like the screen burning problem etc,,

  • @SuddenMovieImpact, I have not had any problems with the TV. I have had no burnin. I keep the TV is a little darker room when the one I did not video in. I useally have the TV in movie mode.

  • @MikesHDVideos Oh Ok Thanks.

  • I HAVE THIS TV

  • how much did it cost ?

  • FUCKING GREAT KICK-ASS TV!!! : D

  • THX for this, I was going to get LED LCD but now plasma. Excellent video. Got the 63"

  • @plz1687, have fun with your 63"

  • Great unboxing! Much better than some of these other stupid videos people make. Thanks for the info.

  • @karimtemple, Thanks.

  • Awesome review! I'm up in the air between this Plasma and the UN55C8000 LED

  • @MescalineMe, I found some summaries and youtube videos with the difference and +/-between Plasma and LED TVs. Sorry I don't remember the URLs. Many people like the bright images of LED. Many video purest don't like the bright "Get a Suntan" images of the LED/LCD. Plasma have glass so they are a little heavier, usually reflect more light, and easier damage if abused then the plastic screen of a LED/LCD.

  • @MescalineMe, I picked the Plasma as you can see. I don't have any reflections problems because there no are light sources at angles where I could see a reflection. I also have not seen any burn-in problems.

Search on "plasma vs lcd" on google and youtube

  • @MescalineMe

Both are great if ya asked me.

  • 0:18 Christmas tree in August 9

  • @plz1687, Yep

  • Great video, gives me everything I ever wanted to know about this TV.

  • @plz1687, Thanks, Glad I can help.

  • @WaXzTRM, I've just checked and cannot see any burn-in. I keep it in a darker room then the one I took the video and I usually have it is "movie" mode which is less bright then the default.

  • Is the Panasonic any better?

  • @plz1687, Don't know but I like this one.

  • What size is this TV?

  • @plz1687, 58 inch

  • Free to air content here in Australia is better than US.

  • There is some hardcore glare going on here... All plasmas should be in dark areas - dont make an exception with this awesome tv...

  • @AalexX136, Thanks, I plan all along to put it in my darker living as I talked about in this video. This video is the first day I got the TV and my living room was not yet ready for it.

  • @AalexX136

Actually, the glare on this TV isn't as bad as you think.

Samsung put an anti-reflective filter on this model and it works reasonably well at cutting out most of the glare.

Even with bright overhead flourescent lights during the daytime are not a real threat.

Bright room performance is one of this TV's strong points, so no worries there.

  • tv size????

  • Just bought a 3D tv, plasma.. Hd 1080p 60" :)

  • @dJmusick0 YOU LUCKY **** =(

    i have never seen 3d

  • 4 people has never watched a 3d movie

  • Already posted but, you said, "Two fingers deep." Love it, just bought one.

  • lol he sed 2 fingrs deep

  • i got one in my bathroom

  • dont the plasmas still cause burn in ?

  • @supremfire31, I have not experance any burn in yet. The say the new plasmas have less of of burn in problem then the older ones.

  • @supremfire31 no, the newer ones don't usually burn in anymore since most of them have screen savers and some new technology they put in them. I believe that LG and samsung are the 2 best plasma makers out.

  • @supremfire31

Not unless you're stupid enough to leave a static image on the screen for hours and hours.

Burn-in has not been totally eliminated yet, but these newer plasmas coming out now are getting better and better at preventing it.

  • Do yoy notice a high pitch buzzing when on a bright screen? also if the tv has fans can you hear them?

  • @Colonelbasic, no and no.

  • @Colonelbasic

If there was any noticeable humming or buzzing, then he prolly would've returned it already.

Always buy big-ass expensive electronics items from a trusty reliable dealer with a good return policy.

Wouldn't hurt to get an extended warranty either.

  • @OtomoTenzi, I get no humming or buzzing

  • This sounds like a better version than the 7700 version, but its not available yet here:(

  • @nazmuse12345 you got it. anything! video games, cartoons, news, dvd's, porno...

  • cmon get rid of that plasma shit ..go get some sony bravia lol

  • Is that a Sony 34 inch XBR you have as your old T.V

  • @pantiesfuck12, yes, I got it in 2001. Only CBS and PBS had HD over the air at that time.

  • yanquis de mierdass tienen todo lo que quieren malditos gringos

  • made in tijuana mexico, MEXICO FOR THE WIN!

  • @PAPB3

    Si-mon, hecho en Mexico! : D

  • duuuuude i need help! i got mine but i cant get cable signal! where and how do you plug it in and also I tried watching shrek 3D and the screen would just be white so basically it wasnt working...

  • you have a xmas tree up in august and no this tv is so much better than the pana!!..

  • SOMONE PLEASE HELP ME ???? what do i get the 3D PLASMA OR THE 3D LED FROM SAMSUNG OR SONY ?

  • @rapandrnb get the 3D plasma by samsung. its better because it has less crosstalk (google it if you dont know). All sony 3d TVs suck btw. if you can help it, get either the Samsung c8000 PLASMA (not the LED) or the Panasonic VT25. In the end, if you get a plasma you will be happy no matter what company it is from.

  • @EpiclsME Hi, how about if do both ? becuase i tend to play allot of games and i also watch allot of movies ?

  • @rapandrnbwell if it's only for bluray or tv go with the plasma if it's more for gaming like ps3 or xbox360 go for the LED sam 40" or less.

  • @MORDEKAIZ how about if its for both ? asi went to many retailers and they told me go for the Plasma ?

  • @rapandrnb well plasma runs in about 600hz and ps3 and xbox runs in 60hz so it could get lag on the plasma sometimes,,,Led its 60hz 120hz and 240hz great for a gaming consule...plus Led have a brigthen good for gaming plamas will leave burn mark evertime u play games... both are great but thats my opinio..im getting UN40C6300 for my ps3 and PN58C500 for movies and soccer games. btw plamas its way cheaper..

  • can you play xbox on it?

  • Nice TV you got there. After doing research on Samsung's LED, I decided that this Samsung Plasma is the way to go for contrast ratio and viewing angle. Plus LED has issues as you named.

  • @Cypherus21 u made the right choice

  • Have you tried to watch stuff with the 2D to 3D conversion? Does it look decent?

  • @jovid7, not of the time is comes out good but not always.

  • Dose this tv have a scart connection.

  • Anyone know if the rechargeable 3D glasses are any dif than the battery powered ones?

  • I had a sharp aquos 60" first n it was the worst tv I ever had! Worst than my DLP Rear projector! The dimming n the white clouds u see during black scenes made me take it back n replace it for the PN58C680!

  • My PN58C680 Is being delivered today sux it didn't come with glasses but it was $700 cheaper than the 8000... Found it on Best Buy iPhone app! I'll get the glasses when BLACK OPS release.

  • how many 3d glasses do samsung give??

  • @dell11700 you buy a starter kit and it comes with 2glasses and 1 3D movie
