I'm a bit late in discovering the joys of Outrun 2, but that is a freaking awesome drive. I was looking at your score on the leaderboards last night and wondering how the hell you managed it.

This has probably been asked before, but do you use the steering wheel for Outrun? You certainly show some very smooth driving.

@bvivers Yes the Official XBOX 360 Steer Wheel. What you are watching is a good number of years worth from OutRun2 to OutRun2006 and then some all coming together. Nice you followed my score up to see it in action! Cheers. :)

Love watching this... so damned slick. I've recently got myself up to 28th for Goal C but generally I have at least one rival screw up in my runs which is annoying. Gotta get a steering wheel!

@bachterman That Milky Way replay was back in the early days, more a demonstration today. It was shared between friends and Ratix0 liked it so uploaded on Tube to share before I joined. Back then it was a high score almost on par with the arcade machine ranking. Indeed practice, understanding/controlling the traffic & a steering wheel go along way. :)

If the score system in OR2006 was the same as OR2SP we might of been here much sooner. Thanks to OOA on 360 I could finally tune my play.

I'm not far off the arcades worlds best as a score comparison. I did a lot of work with OutRun2006 trying to understand OutRun mode, polished things up with OutRun Online Arcade. There is a lot of history linked to this video and thats what people can't see. Say hi to Spence on PSN for me! ;-)

ive found the wheel not so good on the more arcady racers but you seem to be doing great with it.

do you find it better with the wheel or are you just making it look easy?

Thats the trick. The greatest of runs will ALWAYS look easy to the untrained eye because the player has slot all of the pieces of Jigsaw together or should I say controlling the traffic to their advantage. The arcade machine was created to be used with a steering wheel. Precision is the key element to obtaining the highest of scores so a wheel is the best tool for the job. ;-)

Eagle, the draw distance is the same as OutRun2006 and OutRun2SP. Maybe because it's now in HD and Wide Screen that you can see more.
