Just because you can quickscope doesn't mean you're a hardcore gamer, and just because you use second chance doesn't mean you're a casual one either. They're taking out second chance in mw3. And treyarch is trying to get more people to play call of duty so why make a game where there's a level 5 getting quickscoped by level 50s constantly? That would just make people hate cod more.
I dislike Second Chance...because if I rush in and shoot someone in the chest with a shotgun, I shouldn't have to risk using a second or third shot to kill them, same with assault rifles, I don't want some guy to have a chance to shoot me after I blast him in the chest with any gun to the point any other player would've died.
I always thought it to be a matter of how much time you devote and have considered myself casual because even though i want to play video games i just don't have the time to play every game i want every day. But I do play to enjoy the game(not just CoD you know what I mean) and care about it being the best it can be and not just hand over my money for any piece of crap. :/

that lil douchey quickscoper doesnt deserve recognition, u pay a flat sum of 60$ for the game, its not pay to play by month, treyarch could care less, and they know those ppl will buy the map packs for sure. Its the casual gamers who are on the fence about buying map packs and the sequel and they want to get them more invested in the game by catering them.
I would say I am hardcore when I like a series, however with a series such as the call of duty franchise I feel that all the games are imensely similar and slight miniscule differences do not matter. Things like a new campaign and game-play machanics matter. I prefer roleplaying games better.
Personally, I dont really consider those 13-year olds who advocate quick scoping "hardcore". I consider people like hutch and blametruth to be hardcore. And if i do recall correctly, Blametruth had spoken out against quick scoping. In addition, isn't the casual gaming community larger than the hardcore community?

Gears of war 2 was a bad game I still play because I love the gears seris like plus i play whatever they put out. when they removed the quickscooping from blackops I thought was really unfair to the gamers I can't quickscoop for shit but some people can't play with out it. I don't think quickscooping Is cheap it takes pratice to get good at.
it's treu what you say and my opinion about quickscoping is that the luck based quickscopers from mw2 cannot quickscope anymore but the real good quickscopers (or let's say the quick drag scopers) can still do it but it isn't effective as in mw2 now it's more based on position, recon and stealth like WingsOfRedemption says in all his scout sniping video's
i love black ops and i think its great they took out stopping power, martyrdom, and a whole bunch of other shit that sucked about mw2, but they need to fix sniping because its practically broken, and get rid of noob tubes and second chance. i know a lot of people like second chance but i don't like that it takes and extra 5 or 10 bullets to fully kill someone when they have it on... and isnt that what we didnt like about juggernaut?

By getting rid of some minor annoyance they made one of the game's aspect null and void. Plus, some of the coolest things possible in a FPS are gone, no more fancy montages, that's going to be dull and slow.
Some things didn't change sadly, there are weapons never used and weapons overused, that is not what a call a balance.

You are right, but I think you are forgetting that we are talking about call of duty here. Since 4, CoD has made strategic decisions to punish skill and reward luck and pad the experience for beginners. Many people don't see this reality though because they haven't played more 'hardcore' titles like Quake/UT. I really don't think Treyarch cares about their competitive community. There are two sides to this. I understand that the video creator can do as they please, BUT The Subscriber can also do as they please. It's a give and take relationship for both sides. If on side tries to ignore the other to much then they will lose support. ie. if you make videos that are nasty and spiteful, those who watch your videos may not like that and ask you to change. If you don't change they will not watch your videos. Same can happen the other way.

It seems that developers these days will cater more to the casual community. The thing about it is the hardcore community is smaller then the casual as per most games. Thing is hardcore players are able to work with a game more than casuals as casuals tend to be less flexible.
Although the hardcore community are more for a quality product, casuals still win the day because they are the majority.

The game's been out for 3 - 4 weeks. xJaws plays this game about 2 hours a day - the average for a majority gaming community - and is 5th / 6th prestige.

@pypo67 wrong. most competitive game websites (gb. mlg, machinima etc.) host objective game types (mlg variant) which is basically only a few perks, guns, maps, game types, allowed. tdm is almost never seen in matches, and im pretty sure isnt even allowed in tourneys, so if you dont go for the objective, you lose, simple. you may be able to camp the objective AFTER youve captured it, but you still have to put enough effort into capping it. and no Optic arent casual gamers.

The 100% quickscoping community is hardcore, most of my casual sophomore friends use a sniper rifle 10% of the time and have fun. Where as second chance universally pisses off everyone but the people who use it. I'm glad they took out the invincibility frame in it though.

I totally agree with your views on this Jesus, however i believe that no matter what the developers of a game do, the community will never be sated. People will always find problems or think that a certain aspect is overpowered. For example, nobody complained about last stand in MW2, there were more serious issues like commando or oma etc. But now that they have removed these issues, we are not commending them for doing it, but complaining that a very minor problem is still at large.
If you really think the Cod game devs are interested in making 'their best work' or even appeasing the community to 'extend the life of the game' then quite frankly you are just naive. They are purely interested in making money & pump out a 'new' game every year to ensure a christmas bonus. They could'nt care less if you are casual or hardcore, just aslong as you buy the game.
Really, Second Chance isn't a very good perk. You rarely survive the fall, you rarely kill the person who downed you, and you RARELY get revived. Meanwhile it offers NO benefit while you're alive. Once you realize that, you'll start using Hacker like a sane person.
Second chance really isn't a bad perk like you make it out. If you die to someone using second chance, it's your fault. Any damage will kill you in second chance, it takes a moment to pull out the pistol, the pistol doesn't do much damage, and it can take a moment to orient yourself.
Meanwhile, it offers NO benefits while you play, unlike Marathon or Hacker or Ninja if they ever fix it. So rarely being able to be revived if you die seems to be a fair trade for no benefit while playing.
@Elamdri I disagree. The pistol kills you in 2-3 shots depending on range. Its really accurate and it takes as long to pull it out that it takes you to realise "oh shit, second chance". The nature of this game is "you die, you die". Unless some nabb with the survivalrate of a mice in a cage of hungry snakes decides to put on Second Chance. I cant posibbly imagine why the fuck they brought this game ruining shitty perk back into BO. Its as bad if not worse then noobtubers.
@Mdschannel No, the pistol does NOT kill in 2-3 hits. It usually takes 3-5 hits to kill with a pistol. Only the revolver can two shot. And no, it's NOT gamebreaking. If you can't tell that someone is going into second chance, you haven't been playing enough. The player model has a special way of falling when going into second chance that tips you off that it's going into second chance. It's nothing like getting insta-gibbed by tubes. I've yet to be killed by second chance I think.
@Elamdri The shots is dependant on where on the body it hits and range. I dont stop shooting untill i see my points for the kill on screen, so its not really a big problem for me. However, if you take 100% of someones health they should just die. No second chances. Thats all there is to it, and not a single arguement in the world can change that. Its the biggest fucking mistake they made in black ops. Luckily i havent played with that many nabbs or noskilled idiots.
@Mdschannel Sure there is an argument that can change that. You're going off the idea that all things being equal, taking off 100% of your health should kill you. But things aren't equal. CoD gives you the ability to make choices about your play style. You can chose guns, nades, equipment, perks, yadda yadda.
Now if you think about it this way, Second Chance just gives you more health. Now, some players CHOSE the extra health. Others chose another bonus. Your choice affects the outcome.

I mean, how is Second Chance different from lets say Flak Jacket. Lets say I shoot someone with my RPG. They should die right? I mean, I did 100% damage to them. But Flak Jacket prevents me from killing them. Why is that ok?

Flak Jacket sacrifices another great options with the matter of playstyle. Greens are mostly not that great, xept hacker. Presuming your a guy, if i just faced you man to man, i shot 100% of your life first. Your just gonna fall down on your as and keep firing? that is not the sort of fights i or most other FPS gamers are interested in. If you die, you dont deserve some reward for dying. Thats why deathstreaks are gone. This perk is a pain for the community. other perks are a matter of playstyle

Honestly, my biggest complaint about the perks is that there is a lack of real choice as to what perks to use. Ghost, Sleight of Hand, and Hacker are probably the three best perks. If you're not using those perks, you stand to be at a real disadvantage and that's unfortunate. Reminds me too much of Stopping Power; use it or lose :(

it's treu what you say and my opinion about quickscoping is that the luck based quickscopers from mw2 cannot quickscope anymore but the real good quickscopers (or let's say the quick drag scopers) can still do it but it isn't effective as in mw2 now it's more based on position, recon and stealth like WingsOfRedemption says in all his scout sniping video's

i love black ops and i think its great they took out stopping power, martyrdom, and a whole bunch of other shit that sucked about mw2, but they need to fix sniping because its practically broken, and get rid of noob tubes and second chance. i know a lot of people like second chance but i don't like that it takes and extra 5 or 10 bullets to fully kill someone when they have it on... and isnt that what we didnt like about juggernaut?

By getting rid of some minor annoyance they made one of the game's aspect null and void. Plus, some of the coolest things possible in a FPS are gone, no more fancy montages, that's going to be dull and slow.
Some things didn't change sadly, there are weapons never used and weapons overused, that is not what a call a balance.

You are right, but I think you are forgetting that we are talking about call of duty here. Since 4, CoD has made strategic decisions to punish skill and reward luck and pad the experience for beginners. Many people don't see this reality though because they haven't played more 'hardcore' titles like Quake/UT. I really don't think Treyarch cares about their competitive community. "Competitive CoD" is an oxymoron, really. I don't mean that in an insulting way either. Respect.

There are two sides to this. I understand that the video creator can do as they please, BUT The Subscriber can also do as they please. It's a give and take relationship for both sides. If on side tries to ignore the other to much then they will lose support. ie. if you make videos that are nasty and spiteful, those who watch your videos may not like that and ask you to change. If you don't change they will not watch your videos. Same can happen the other way.

It seems that developers these days will cater more to the casual community. The thing about it is the hardcore community is smaller then the casual as per most games. Thing is hardcore players are able to work with a game more than casuals as casuals tend to be less flexible.
Although the hardcore community are more for a quality product, casuals still win the day because they are the majority.

@pypo67 wrong. most competitive game websites (gb. mlg, machinima etc.) host objective game types (mlg variant) which is basically only a few perks, guns, maps, game types, allowed. tdm is almost never seen in matches, and im pretty sure isnt even allowed in tourneys, so if you dont go for the objective, you lose, simple. you may be able to camp the objective AFTER youve captured it, but you still have to put enough effort into capping it. and no Optic arent casual gamers.

The 100% quickscoping community is hardcore, most of my casual sophomore friends use a sniper rifle 10% of the time and have fun. Where as second chance universally pisses off everyone but the people who use it. I'm glad they took out the invincibility frame in it though.

I totally agree with your views on this Jesus, however i believe that no matter what the developers of a game do, the community will never be sated. People will always find problems or think that a certain aspect is overpowered. For example, nobody complained about last stand in MW2, there were more serious issues like commando or oma etc. But now that they have removed these issues, we are not commending them for doing it, but complaining that a very minor problem is still at large.

Really, Second Chance isn't a very good perk. You rarely survive the fall, you rarely kill the person who downed you, and you RARELY get revived. Meanwhile it offers NO benefit while you're alive. Once you realize that, you'll start using Hacker like a sane person.

Second chance really isn't a bad perk like you make it out. If you die to someone using second chance, it's your fault. Any damage will kill you in second chance, it takes a moment to pull out the pistol, the pistol doesn't do much damage, and it can take a moment to orient yourself.
Meanwhile, it offers NO benefits while you play, unlike Marathon or Hacker or Ninja if they ever fix it. So rarely being able to be revived if you die seems to be a fair trade for no benefit while playing.

@Elamdri I disagree. The pistol kills you in 2-3 shots depending on range. Its really accurate and it takes as long to pull it out that it takes you to realise "oh shit, second chance". The nature of this game is "you die, you die". Unless some nabb with the survivalrate of a mice in a cage of hungry snakes decides to put on Second Chance. I cant posibbly imagine why the fuck they brought this game ruining shitty perk back into BO. Its as bad if not worse then noobtubers.

@Mdschannel No, the pistol does NOT kill in 2-3 hits. It usually takes 3-5 hits to kill with a pistol. Only the revolver can two shot. And no, it's NOT gamebreaking. If you can't tell that someone is going into second chance, you haven't been playing enough. The player model has a special way of falling when going into second chance that tips you off that it's going into second chance. It's nothing like getting insta-gibbed by tubes. I've yet to be killed by second chance I think.

However, if you take 100% of someones health they should just die. No second chances. Thats all there is to it, and not a single arguement in the world can change that. @Mdschannel Sure there is an argument that can change that. You're going off the idea that all things being equal, taking off 100% of your health should kill you. But things aren't equal. CoD gives you the ability to make choices about your play style. You can chose guns, nades, equipment, perks, yadda yadda.
Now if you think about it this way, Second Chance just gives you more health. Now, some players CHOSE the extra health. Others chose another bonus. Your choice affects the outcome.

@Elamdri If they wanted to give you a perk that simply gave more health theid have juggernaut in it you twat. This isnt an equalization og having more health. Its just like MW2 again. You died, heres your reward. Even though it isnt in the shape of a deathstreak the green perks are at most points fucking useless anyway. Exept hacker, wich actually does something major. This is not even what the community of this game wanted. EVERYONE expet you and the users hates the shit, with reason.

@Mdschannel The problem is that gamers never want their opponents to have an advantage on them. If FPS gamers had their way, they'd be able to play with perks while the opposing team didn't.
I mean seriously, it's probably more difficult to take candy from a baby than to kill someone in Second Chance.

@Elamdri No, i what i want is Balance. Where everyone is provided with the same tools and powers. Not that everyone has the same weapons, but that their in a great balance so its the true skill of the player that decides who wins. I enjoy black ops, but that single perk called Last Stand creates an inconsistency in gameplay mechanics that benefits the player more then it should.

@Mdschannel There should be no perk called Last Stand or Seacond Chance if the took that away from Black Ops and Nerfed about 95% of the weapons. the game would be perfect<3 Glad i deg Marius<3

@Mdschannel You're never going to get that in an FPS like call of duty with perks. Even if you take away the perks, then people will complain about unbalanced guns, like the Galil or AK74u.
I mean, how is Second Chance different from lets say Flak Jacket. Lets say I shoot someone with my RPG. They should die right? I mean, I did 100% damage to them. But Flak Jacket prevents me from killing them. Why is that ok?
Or Sleight of Hand Pro? That's not SKILL that he can aim down the sights faster.

Flak Jacket sacrifices another great options with the matter of playstyle. Greens are mostly not that great, xept hacker. Presuming your a guy, if i just faced you man to man, i shot 100% of your life first. Your just gonna fall down on your as and keep firing? that is not the sort of fights i or most other FPS gamers are interested in. If you die, you dont deserve some reward for dying. Thats why deathstreaks are gone. This perk is a pain for the community. other perks are a matter of playstyle

@Mdschannel Honestly, I understand why you don't like it, I just don't see it as being nearly as bad as you make it out to be. To me, it makes little difference.
Honestly, my biggest complaint about the perks is that there is a lack of real choice as to what perks to use. Ghost, Sleight of Hand, and Hacker are probably the three best perks. If you're not using those perks, you stand to be at a real disadvantage and that's unfortunate. Reminds me too much of Stopping Power; use it or lose :(
